I ordered the quesabirrias and they were delicious! The dish came with 3 tacos, rice, beans, and consommé. The consomme was made from the broth used to slow cook the beef used in the quesabirrias. The quesabirrias were delicious when dipped in the consomme. They were swerved with onions and cilantro on the side, however would have benefited from more veggies. The carne asada nachos were yummy! The nachos contained tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, jalapenos, radishes, carne asada, and cheese under fresh tortilla chips. All the ingredients were of high quality and tasted delicious together. Complimentary chicharrones de harina were served with hot sauce. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant that served complimentary chicharrones de harina. Chicharrones de harina are a Mexican snack that are made from fried wheat flour. Service was good as the workers were friendly and polite. They were short staffed so service was slower than if they were properly staffed. This is all about SERVICE. I tried to join their waitlist but could not, thought it was glitching because of Mother's Day. I called no answer, then I drove over at 1:30- joined their list and was told 2.5 hrs. Ok, no problem. Over 3 hours later - still maybe 45 mins. I'm so done. Unnecessary waste of time on Mother's Day It is Mother's Day and super busy but be realistic about time, they are the worst when it comes being realistic. People waited 4 hours, no thank you. The building itself is understated and you wouldn't expect it in the shopping center but once you open the door, the ambience is so romantic and the decorations are cute. I had the espresso martini that had banana Lecure it honestly wasn't my favorite but drinkable. We also had the appetizer with the flautas and chimichangas and the nachos. A friend and I came here for lunch before we had to attend a work event. We both were super hungry and were craving Mexican food. Rosa Madera sabores de México Mexican restaurant is tucked away in the south east corner of the ------- shopping center. Upon entering this little restaurant I noticed the impecable Mediterranean decor. The south wall in the entry way is adorned with ceramic Mexican style pottery. To the left is an enormous full length "wall to wall" bar and a gorgeous Freda Cualo painting overlooks the main dining room to the right. Suspended from the vaulted exposed ceiling are several woven lanterns in addition to wood stalks intertwined with red roses and twinkle lights, which align the wall decor. Once seated we were served with iced water paired with a complimentary bowl of chicarrones. Moments later the waiter appeared to take our orders. I ordered additional chips, salsa, and guac as an appetizer as my friend was interested in trying the guacamole , which was freshly mashed and came topped with pico de gallo and sliced radishes. The red salsa was prepared "arriba" style with flash fried blackened chiles. I could've made this antojito appetizer a meal by itself but I had already ordered my 3 shredded beef tacos with beans and rice. We walked in on a Sun to a beautiful mariachi playing live music. The place is gorg inside and has really nice vibes. You could sit at the bar for a quicker wait time but it took about 30-40 mins for us to get a table. Everyone was super nice though. Once we sat down, things happened quickly. It took about 5 mins for our drinks to come but once we ordered our app guac, It came out really fast. We ordered our food and it came within 5 mins piping hot. I got the garlic shrimp which I was a lil more garlicky. My daughter got pastor/asada tacos which she said were really good and my hubs got shrimp tacos. The restaurant was poppin' with birthday celebrations. Shots were served with fanfare by multiple waitstaff with flashing strobe lights, sparklers, and heavy club music. It felt like bottle service at a club. The food is a cut above. You aren't served tortilla chips and salsa here. Rosa Madera doesn't want to be just another Mexican restaurant. Instead you're served chicharrones chips. The Los Favoritos appetizer platter is hearty enough for 3-4 people with Flautas de tinga, birria chimichangas, and nachos Al pastor. All were good. I had the Tacos De Ranchera which were hefty and tasty. The order comes with two tacos and were filling. My friend got the fajitas trio which looked *super* good and had in it massive pieces of chicken, steak and shrimp. Came here recently for a birthday dinner with family and it was a lovely experience. First I want to say thanks to the staff who were very accommodating in rearranging tables to make sure we had enough room for our party. The staff were friendly and helpful in serving our large party. The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful, the decor is romantic with lots of flowers and warm lights. There were people there celebrating birthdays (not just us), on dates, and having dinner with friends and family. The menu is very large with lots of options, the prices are on par with other "nicer" Mexican restaurants in the area. I everyone ordered something different and seemed to enjoy their choices. I got the birria plate and it was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and was flavorful, I wish it came with more than two tortillas! The cocktails were also delicious. Stopped by Rosa Madera on Easter Sunday with my family. When we arrived there were a couple families waiting, but we were quoted about 10 minutes which wasn't bad at all. First thing you notice is the decor. The place is really beautiful and has a more upscale feel. The murals inside are a nice touch, and they have a full bar along with larger tables for bigger parties. The music is pretty loud and gives more of a night club vibe. I ordered the filete con camarones al ajo. The filet and shrimp were really good, but the beans and rice were just okay. The handmade corn tortillas were definitely a highlight. We also tried the pollo en mole and my mom said she would come back but probably wouldn't order that again. My dad ordered the filete zarandeado and said it was good but his rice was a bit hard so he didn't really eat it. Service is where things could improve. There seemed to be a lot of staff around but our server didn't seem very enthusiastic. She checked in but it felt a bit rushed and not very welcoming. Overall the decor really stands out and makes the place feel special. With a little more warmth in the service and some consistency with the food, this could easily be a great spot. (Small issues here with overflowing trash cans but thats minor overall.) ... we came here for the food of course! We ordered the LOS FAVORITOS - sampler and some aguas frescas. The sampler has Flautas de tinga, nachos al pastor, birria chimichangas. The attached pic isn't beautiful but we asked for everything on the side (Sides of guac, crema, salsa, and pico de gallo.). The meats were amazing. The flautas and the chimichangas were fried perfectly. There is something special about the Al pastor - you have to try it. It's different than any I've had but in a good way. The guacamole was also great. It wasn't over run with onions and it featured the avocados. I'm picky with guacamole- but that's just me. Hubby asked for an extra side of something spicier and they brought out a dark salsa that had a smoky and spicy flavor - it had a kick at the end for sure. TIP - get there when they open. Heard from many people that this was a great place to go eat and the food was really good so we decided to give it a try. First appearance when you walk in this is one of the cutest restaurants I've ever been to! I love the /hen B/, Tic decor and plates and cups and the vibe ball around. Our server Araceli was extremely nice and helpful in us making our selection because there was so many good things on the menu. It was hard to pick! My wife had been talking about this place for a while. Pictured is what I had, fajitas steak, shrimp, and chicken. It was as if all the meat had been sitting around and was reheated for me. All of the meat was tough and lukewarm at best. Chicken so tough I could barely bite through it. The steak I could only stomach a few bites. I only ate the shrimp an even those were tough but they were less tough than the chicken. My wife had tacos and enjoyed her meal. Initial thoughts, they really need to get a reservation system going because you could potentially be waiting a LONG time like we did. We came for a family member's birthday on a Saturday night and waited about an hour. And honestly, that was only because we kept checking in. At one point, they forgot about us and we had to remind them again. There's 2 couches at the entrance where you can wait, IF you can get a seat. They also should start taking last names (or at least last name initials). Our name is pretty common, and when they called it we got excited, got escorted to the table and it looked really small for our party of 5. the host told us it was for 2 people and we were like, we're 5. Come to find out it was for a different party with the same name, so by the time we went back to the couches, they were taken and we had no where to sit and wait. and it was early Jan so it was cold outside, so we just stood inside. There were a lot of birthdays going on that night, so the place was packed. It took a while for our drink order to be taken, and our server was a bit rude in the beginning and didn't check on us much. Service did improve as the night went on, though, which I appreciated. The food was pretty good overall. I liked that they offered Coke Zero, that's actually hard to find at restaurants. They also bring complimentary duritos (the crunchy little wheels), which was a nice touch. The music was good overall too and added to the vibe. The ladies restroom could've used some attention, it was pretty messy. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back on a Saturday night for dinner because it's wildly packed. Service was a bit chaotic, restaurant was pretty full with 6+ ppl per tables celebrating bdays and graduations. Servers didn't know what tables were assigned to them. Food was average. It was served randomly, not all came at once. Ambiance was really great. I like the less taqueria style. One thing I wanted to note when you order an entrée you only get 2 tortillas per order. Imagine if you order the combo fajita and you only have 2 tortillas. when we asked how money tortillas was given to us our server said 6 but we only had 5... she actually continued to argue that she served us 6. Didn't get a lot of pictures but came here on a Saturday night for a friends birthday. It was about a 45 minute drive for us. We put our names on the waitlist at 5pm and planned to show up at 6pm. At 5pm, there was already a 2.5 hour wait! We arrived, and sat at the bar to have a drink and around 7:30pm, a spot at a high top table in the bar finally opened up and the app said it was estimating another hour to be seated at an actual table. That would have put out wait at 3.5 hours. It was busy but it wasn't THAT busy. That's kind of crazy. Anyway, sat down at 7:30. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our food and we finished around 9pm. The drinks were delicious and the food was too. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. This was my first time visiting Rosa Madera. We came with a party of 10 and used the waitlist option to make things easier. According to the waitlist, we were next, but the restaurant was waiting on a table to clear so they could push two tables together. This ended up taking over 45 minutes, which prevented us from ordering from the breakfast menu since it ended at 2 PM. Once we were finally seated, everyone already knew what they wanted to order. Things were going smoothly until the kitchen mixed up several of our combination plates. There was a lot of confusion -- first they said we could keep the incorrect plate, then they asked for it back, even though an enchilada had already been cut into. Shockingly, the kitchen sent back the same plate, now cold, with the corrected item simply added onto it. That was completely unacceptable. We requested a freshly made enchilada, which they did remake, and thankfully that didn't take long. On a positive note, the highlight of this place is the homemade tortillas -- freshly made and delicious. The food overall had good flavor (4/5), and the drinks were well balanced. My breakdown: 5/5 - Our server was amazing. He truly did his best to manage the confusion and conflict with the food and consistently checked in on us. 4/5 - Food flavor was well balanced. 2/5 - The restaurant's system needs improvement. What's the point of a waitlist if guests still end up waiting excessively? Please keep in mind that this place gets very busy during weekend brunch due to the mariachi and the surrounding shared parking with the supermarket and nearby restaurants. That part took away from enjoying time with my company because the whole point of going out is to have a good time together. The food overall was good and the staff was very attentive. The menu feels a little overwhelming, so I wish they offered recommendations on their best or most popular dishes. We ordered the happy hour margaritas and they were on the sweeter side. The flavor was still good, but a bit too sweet for me. I liked that they offered different flavors, but I think our order was mixed up because we ordered peach and it did not taste like peach at all. Granted it was a busy Saturday evening with hella celebrations and yeah we had to wait 2 hours but I thought the service and food was excellent. I have been searching for a restaurant that served good mole and I believe I have found it here at Rosa Madera. Their Mole was probably the most flavorful I've tasted thus far. It was quite the portion, but best believe I ate it all up, along with the rice and beans. There was also a good kick of spice in the sauce - even though I'm not a big spice person, I found the spice to compliment the rich sauce.
