Yes Yes Yes. If you like flavor, lots of it, come here. The tacos are delicious. The salsas are the right amount of spice. It can be on the saltier side, but we like our food seasoned. The char on the meat was perfect. Highly recommend. Only downside is that they don't have a chip bar. Good thing their food is so good. We will be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The small restaurant was clean, staff were young and friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's nice to see the food cooked in front of you so it looked all fresh. Carne asada burrito- tastes like real beef not rubbery or chewy, flavorful. The rice was perfectly cooked, good amount of beans and meat. SAUCES: I tried the sauces by itself then with the burrito Lvl 1- Green - tastes like salt water no flavor Lvl 2- Red- tastes like salt water but spicer no flavor Lvl 3- Thick red- It's thick and salty not enough flavor Lvl 4- Orange- It's thick, tastes spicier, creamy , more flavorful than the rest (highly recommend). I feel like sour cream was added into this one to make it creamy so it helped the spice not be overpowering

I was on my way to Taco Bell and suddenly came to my senses. I realized I was actually craving good taqueria-style Mexican food, not Taco Bell. Taco 65 came to mind because I had it on my "need to try" list. I thought it was on Broadway, but it's actually closer to Sac State in a small strip mall. I walked in and there was no line, but people were waiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is kind of like a retro burger window setup and reminds me a lot of Tacos 1986, a famous taco spot in LA I've been to. The setup and aesthetic felt really similar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a carne asada burrito and one queso taco with adobada, plus salsa verde, roja, and their orange sauce at no extra charge. It got super busy right after I ordered, but I only waited about 15 minutes, which I didn't mind. I got home and everything was packaged well. The taco came with a side of grilled onions, radish, and lime, which was a nice touch. I started with the taco and it was delicious. The smell of fresh nixtamal from the tortillas wafted up with each bite. The taste and texture of cheese grilled onto the tortilla was also amazing. The adobada had a nice meaty bite but was still tender and not overly fatty, with a really punchy marinade. So good, genuinely one of the best tacos I've ever had. Each salsa I tried with it was amazing too, honestly some of the best salsas I've had, and it again reminded me of the iconic salsa bar at Tacos 1986. I was hyped to try the burrito after that taco and was honestly let down. It was a big, girthy burrito loaded with beans, rice, meat, lettuce, and crema. What I found was that it was very dry. Of course you have to add salsa, but you expect the burrito to be somewhat moist from the crema and beans, and it just wasn't. The carne asada was the main culprit. It was overcooked and had very little fat, which made it dry. It also felt underseasoned and likely not marinated. It reminded me of the carne picada you can get at Walmart. When that's cooked right it can be good, but this was just dry and not nearly as flavorful as the adobada. The salsas helped a lot because they were so good, especially the smoky orange sauce. The salsa verde was fresh and the salsa roja was actually pretty spicy, but all of them were really deliciouses. I'd come back and would even order the burrito again, but I'd steer clear of the carne asada, which is a shame because the ceiling for carne asada is so high. You can do so much with it when it's done right. The salsas and adobada queso taco were highly memorable.

Hole in the wall on 65th near Target. First time trying. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Smelled so good when we pulled up. Fresh food being prepared outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tiny inside with a few counter top seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Order at the counter. We got our food to go. We ordered a carne asada burrito (meat, beans, rice, cream, onions & cilantro), HUGE!!!! Was so good but couldn't finish. Also ordered two tacos, delicious. Salsas are very good. Will be back with my husband soon.?

Honestly, this is super solid Taqueria. Coming from Chicago (Pilsen area), access to great tacos has been missed but, also honestly, has not been sought after on my end. Counter service. Pretty straight forward menu. It's a small space with minimal seating. At that, the seating is all counter top at the windows. Tacos are pictured here, but I've had the entire menu. It's overall very good. I think this was once a 5/5, but it's a overall 4/5 now for me. I would say the tacos are the best items here and specifically the carne asada. The burrito size has gotten smaller in my opinion and it's been on the saltier end for me as of late. I'm usually an al pastor girlie, but the steak is supreme here IMO. It has flavor and is tender. Add some of the orange sauce to that --- chef's kiss. Always ask for more orange sauce. The pork came off a little chewy to me and it didn't have too much flavor. I had a bite of some chicken there, and I would rather do that, and I'm not a chicken person at these places. I just want to comment on the quesadilla. It's massive and full of meat. It begs the question of whether this is a quesadilla anymore. Probably my second favorite item on the menu. In recent months, I've become less of a take out and doordash person, and like to eat my meals at the spot. Not saying there are diminishing returns when you are bringing it home, but I would have it there if you can. My order: Steak taco plate and a chicken quesadilla to split. EXTRA EXTRA orange sauce.

Definitely worth checking out. It's a little on the pricey side, but once you see the portion size and take your first bite, you'll understand why. Parking can be tough, and there's often a line, but it's absolutely worth the wait. I usually order a California burrito, but this time I tried the adobada burrito and it did not disappoint. Next time, I'm definitely coming back to try the tacos! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some indoor seating available, but it's limited, so keep that in mind if you're planning to dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a great spot that lives up to the hype!

So in an ongoing effort to find the best burrito anywhere and everywhere I go,my travels finally landed me at Tacos 65 located in Sacramento near Broadway and 64th.I heard amazing things about this place,so to say I was excited to try their food would be an understatement. I got here on a Friday night around 5p and let me tell ya this place was packed. Not a parking spot to be had at this very small lot servicing at least 4 businesses, parking was so bad I had to park about 2 or 3 blocks down the road in a residential area and walk to the burrito shop. Once inside I felt like I was elbows to elbows with every customer in there.I will preface that statement by saying this shop is truly tiny, this is not a fully developed restaurant, there are no tables,a few counter tops u can sit on but this place was not built for comfort or lounging around, this was by definition a place where u call in your order or place your order upon arrival and take your food to go-in and out as fast as possible/no lingering. The menu was located on the wall is a highly visible display and its offering though classic were very limited and focused. That evening we decided to go with a Carne Asada Burrito($13.50) with rice on the side and inside the burrito was refried beans, sour cream, cheese, onions and cilantro. We also went with the 3 taco plate ($15.75) which came with 3 tacos, choice of meat and a small serving of rice and refried beans. For meat choices on tacos we went with 2 carne asada and one Al Pastor. Once we placed our order they gave us a number and said it would be about 20-25 minutes, and since they don't have bathrooms available for the public,I decided to walk to a local Target to use the restroom while waiting for my food.I didn't mind the inconvenience of the walk as I knew I had a pretty heavy meal coming my way. Once we got our food and it did take the 25 minutes they stated,it was a pretty good haul. They included lots of complimentary salsas and a small plastic bag full of jalapeños and peppers and onions, which all went perfectly with our meal. Let's talk about these tacos 1st,I loved that they each came with a hefty serving of guacamole on top of each taco.To say these tacos were overwhelmingly stuffed with meat would be an understatement-oh my gosh,so much meat, straight stacked with meat tacos and the flavors and seasoning on the meat were flawless-an extremely good taco too say the least. We all know though I came here for the burrito,I'd previously heard from various social media food influencers that they were doing something special here at Tacos 65 with their burritos,so my expectations were very high. That being said,I wasn't prepared for the level of goodness this burrito they are serving at Tacos 65 was offering. It was incredible-1st of all,so much meat,I'm seeing a pattern at this restaurant, just overstuffed with carne asada, the beans, sour cream, cheese, onions, cilantro was mixed so well in that burrito,I felt like I was getting every flavor in every bite. They also serve their burritos with toasted tortillas and man does that change the flavor profile of every bite-I'm becoming spoiled and when they tortilla isn't toasted I'm becoming disappointed now-their tortilla was flawlessly prepared-so good-it was darn near the perfect burrito. In closing,I would say, despite the many hurdles it took to get my food, park, ordering, waiting around with nowhere to sit,the food itself is as top notch as any burrito shop I have ever encountered-we may be looking at the best burrito currently being served in Sacramento folks. PS-If you ever get the pleasure of being in the area of the restaurant in the hours before they open, you will find yourself mesmerized by the intoxicating smell of them cooking their meats of the day on an outside grill they have situated outside their shop-They smell so good.

Great tacos with solid food and service. The food was good, very solid but not the best ever. The tacos were decent but I liked the burrito better. I'd suggest getting it without rice since it's already so heavy and has a lot of cheese in it. Loved how well toasted it was. The orange spicy salsa is excellent, hot but nothing crazy. Didn't like the salsa roja as much and the salsa verde was decent. They have protein options for carne asada, chicken, pork, mushroom, and chorizo. My preference was carne asada, pork, then chicken. The restaurant is quite small with a few tables. Staff was very helpful and friendly, offering their three salsas and confirming the order. The place was very busy on a Thursday night with lots of pickup orders and took about 15 minutes to get our food. Would come back if in the area.

Saw a viral video on Instagram stating this place has the best burrito in Sac so I had to test it out myself! So happy to see they had mushrooms as vegetarian protein option for their burritos and tacos! I ordered their mushroom burrito and it was hefty!! It came with fajitas and sauces on the side that were delicious!! Unfortunately, my burrito was way too salty. I'm not sure if it was just a one off situation or if they typically season their mushrooms this way but I could barely take more than a couple bites and had to order a drink on the side because of the saltiness. My brother's al pastor burrito was fine as he found his delicious. Not sure if I want to risk trying their mushroom burrito again.

Small little spot on 65th and broadway. Queso tacos are fire!! Love that they come with guac. The handmade tortillas make such a big difference. Tried the carne asada and adobada. Both really good! Burritos are huge! They don't skimp out. Came with friends at the end of the night and everything still came out fresh to order. Staff were friendly. Will def be back!

If you know me, you all know that I have reviewed an insane amount of Mexican restaurants/taquerias over the years. Which takes me to the Tahoe Park neighborhood where I finally got the opportunity trying out "Tacos 65", an insanely popular place that has been around since late-2023. Located directly at the corner of Broadway and 65th St., Tacos 65 is just south of Highway 50 in the heart of Sacramento. One thing that really enticed me to check this place out was that their food is more along the lines of using a smoky flavor; much like what you'd come across in Los Angeles and way more notable in San Diego. To bring these unique flavors to Sacramento really made me want to try this place out. The parking (which has about 20 dedicated spots) can be quite difficult to find simply because there are several other neighboring businesses including a Thai restaurant, a dry cleaners, a bakery, and more. Fortunately when I came here with my lady (which was during the afternoon on Saturday 1/24/2026) at around 4:40pm, there was one open spot available. As for the inside of the business, it is tiny and only has seating for about 8 customers max. I also wanted to add that there is no exterior seating, however they do have a outdoor mesquite grill which is used for cooking all the meats. My recommendation is to plan on taking your food to-go or drive to nearby "Mae Fong Park - 乒乓球" if you want your food to be piping hot. The menu itself is very simple as they focus on tacos, mulitas, burritos, and quesadillas. Proteins consist of Asada (steak), Pollo (chicken), Adobada (grilled pork), Chorizo (pork sausage), and Champiñón (mushroom). They also sell sides of refried beans and rice by itself or a Plato. Finally, they carry several drinks; Jarritos, Topo Chico, and sodas but no beer or alcohol of any kind. After narrowing down the menu, I went with (1) Asada taco and (1) Adobada taco while my lady went with their Asada burrito. Even during the busy late-lunch/dinner rush, both our items arrived in less than 10 minutes. As for the overall taste, texture, flavor, and experience, I will say that this place was a grand slam home run for me. My tacos were reminiscent of the hole-in-the-wall spots I've been to in Los Angeles while being absolutely packed with flavor. The spices and smokiness might deter some people from eating here but this place hit all the high notes for me. I also tried a few bites of her burrito and OMG, this seriously was delicious. I will say that with the service, short wait times, quality of food, and overall vibe that "Tacos 65" offered, it hit all the high notes for me. My rating, a unanimous five stars.

    Diep N.

Best quesadilla in Sacramento for me. This place is starting to get more and more busier and I love that for them. You have to get extra orange sauce because that's the best part! I also get extra grilled onions as well. Everything is fresh and made to order. Burrito and tacos is also great as well! I highly recommend anything with carne asada meat or adobada. They have a simple menu but the food always hits. Keep in mind parking is limited so if there's none left, you might have to do street parking. It's also not really a sit down place although there's several seats by the window but most people use it when waiting for their food.

I am a huge fan of pineapple in my pastor so when I read they put pineapple it I knew I had to give it a try. As others have mentioned, parking can be a pain but thankfully we had no problems. Ordered and food was ready pretty quickly. We got a asada quesadilla, pastor tacos, mulitas and a burrito. Everything was a decent size and loaded with meat which I can appreciate. I also love everything came with grilled onions, radishes and a pepper. The burrito was pretty thick and they didn't overload it with beans and rice either. The mulitas I felt needed more cheese. And the tacos did have pineapple but it was just one sliver on top and not chunks throughout which was kinda a bummer. Everything was still super delicious tho and we will return for sure.

I found Rosa Madera when searching for "queso" in Yelp...(I really was wanting some queso)…read more Anyways, funnily enough, I read through the menu when I got here and ended up getting nachos in place of the queso...that's fine though, it gave me an excuse to come back another day. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

I ordered the quesabirrias and they were delicious! The dish came with 3 tacos, rice, beans, and…read moreconsommé. The consomme was made from the broth used to slow cook the beef used in the quesabirrias. The quesabirrias were delicious when dipped in the consomme. They were swerved with onions and cilantro on the side, however would have benefited from more veggies. The carne asada nachos were yummy! The nachos contained tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, jalapenos, radishes, carne asada, and cheese under fresh tortilla chips. All the ingredients were of high quality and tasted delicious together. Complimentary chicharrones de harina were served with hot sauce. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant that served complimentary chicharrones de harina. Chicharrones de harina are a Mexican snack that are made from fried wheat flour. Service was good as the workers were friendly and polite. They were short staffed so service was slower than if they were properly staffed. It was surprisingly busy around 2pm on a weekday.
