I ordered a sandwich to go, as I was in the midst of running errands and just needed a quick bite. Welp, that first bite was quite a surprise. There was a toothpick inside, laying FLAT IN the sandwich. It was embedded in the tuna. I just missed biting into that toothpick. That was NOT okay. I didn't finish the sandwich as I worried as to what else might be in there. I tossed it in a trash can outside of my next errand. Tonight I came to Yelp to update my review, and I was shocked to read the following: On April 8, 2026 (just a couple of WEEKS ago) Yelp reported that this La Bou had FIVE health code violations. "Sounds good," I heard so across the parking lot was WCSD. In we go. Ordered two 6" BLT, no chips, cookies, or drinks, had water. Over $25.00. After waiting a fair amount of time, the order was ready (there was nobody in the place except three employees.) I brought the pie tins that they serve on to our table. They looked a little flat....odd. After I was seated, I lifted the top off of the sandwich, and where is the tomato? The sandwich was cut in half, so I looked at the other side, it looked the same. Upon further inspection there was ONE 2" diameter slice of tomato on each half of sandwich, approximately 1/8" thick. No kidding. The bacon was some very flat pre made stuff that was resembling aluminum foil in thickness. The lettuce was shreadded into long stripe and was wilty. I went back into the empty store and showed the sandwich maker my open sandwich and asked where the tomato was. She graciously stuck her lingers and thumb into my open sandwich, lifted the bacon and lettuce and proudly said "There it is!" (She did have gloves on. God only knows what she had handled with them on) A supervisor came up and asked what the problem was. I explained that there were no tomatoes on my sandwich. The hot dogs are pretty darn good as well. They grill those. But I sure wish that this Shake Shack would put dairy free milkshakes on the menu. A number of locations in the Bay Area, offer dairy free. This location doesn't. Aw shucks. The prices are fast food comparable. But quality s better. The staff has always been great. They have ordering kiosks, but I like to order at the counter with a human. The dining room is kept clean. But the parking isn't the greatest. The small parking lot right in front of the building gets crowded especially when Noah's Bagels (their next door neighbor) is open. The parking lot spaces are limited in quantity and the distance between the aisles are narrow. Additional parking is right next door in the parking structure or a bit further walk yo the other surface lot in Palladio.
