    Steak Salad
    Molly S.

My steak salad had barely any protein or toppings. Very disappointing for the price. Fries were good as always.

Ordered the chicken club sandwich and it was quite tasty. I ate half of it before I thought about taking a photo. Yum! Chicken breast, and almost candied bacon, onions, honey mustard, tomato, lettuce and light avocado on a bun.

    Turkey Club...half eaten :/

One of my favorite things at Jack's is their ice tea. You can tell that it is freshly made, not out of a gun, and they clean the barrel that it is made in. And their hand carved turkey. Everything here is always great, but the turkey is always a plus. I had their turkey sandwich along with my fiancé getting the barbecue steak salad. For it being a steak salad, I would encourage more steak on the salad, but besides that, I have to say the food is always amazing. The service is always on par as well. Always recommend this place.

    Spicy Buffalo Salad

Service was great, helpful and energetic staff. My mother ordered the buffalo chicken salad (her favorite), and it was delicious. Full of celery, apples and carrots, very tasty, and Jacks has the best blue cheese dressing. The urban fries were good. I wish they added more chili oil and chili flakes though. Lastly, my bbq tritip. You can tell the bread and produce are very fresh, which really brings the sandwich together. The tritip is a bit too chewy, needs to be grilled a little longer, especially when made fresh for sandwiches. Good place overall, and would recommend to family/friends.

What a low quality salad for puck up! I had the same salad last night at the restaurant and decided to order it again for pick up and there was only lettuce! Check the picture. I wish I had ordered it on an app instead of on their website and got my money back!

Not only is this place close to the office but it's always my go to, when I need a good BBQ Try-Tip Sandwich fix ! Plus, I order a side of Jack fries. If you don't know about those, let me school you for just a moment. So these taste just like McDonald's fries except they are jazzed up with chili oil, chili flakes , blue cheese crumbles , blue cheese dressing and chopped parsley for garnish. IYKYK and if you don't well.... You ought to ! This is definitely a big sandwich , the fires you can share. But there are days when I just want the trip tip over a salad, which is pretty amazing as well. This location get quite busy during the lunch rush. I try to avoid those hours and show up 2pm ish when everyone is back to work.

    Good size portions.

I'm staying at a nearby hotel for a trade show I'm involved in and didn't feel like traveling far and everything else was fast food and this was a sitdown place so that's why I decided to go there despite the fact I knew it was not high end. The food was priced well there was lots of people and so I knew everything was relatively fresh, but I just had to laugh when my Dish arrived. I settled on the flank steak and shrimp combo platter no mashed potatoes. I opted for veg instead and no cornbread or buns since I'm trying to be keto. I also got a glass of wine, which was happy hour prices and very reasonable when my Dish arrived. It was hilarious instead of a steak. It looked like a cow penis! It tasted fine although it was a little past the "medium" I had requested. They delivered it with a bottle of A1 sauce without me requesting it. that further indicating this is a very basic basic restaurant since at fine dining establishments with steak they are offended if you order A1 sauce! I happen to like A1 sauce even with nice steaks and so I just had to chuckle, but I did like my A1 sauce! The shape was just hilarious. I wish it would've just been round or square or flat or something anything but a penis shape!

They have an amazing happy hour menu that goes until 10 Pm. The prime rib tacos were SO amazing, not spicy, so flavorful and the texture of the corn salsa added so much to the whole bite. The garlic fries were fantastic, loaded with chopped garlic (jarred kind), parsley and parm. We also tried the loaded potato skins, they were great but I was pretty full by the time they came so we left a wounded soldier. The tumbleweed onion straws were also fantastic! My friends ordered prime rib, kabobs and the filet mignon and were nice enough to share! The prime rib is served on a sizzling plate with au jus, and was fantastic! The filet was well seasoned and the kabobs were good, although I prefer a little more rare. The appetizer happy hour menu had $6 and $8 items, food and drinks. The howdy beer was $4 and was pretty decent! My friends loved the $6 raspberry lemon drops! Above all of this though, our server was amazing. She worked her butt off for us and really made our visit Amazing. I'm the worst and only caught that her name started with a J, and she'd been there for 20 years. She was so attentive and recommended amazing dishes. I can't wait for our next annual trip, this place just became part of my tradition!

For a moment, we thought we had walked into Ruth's Chris! I honestly wanted to leave, but I didn't want to embarrass my other half. She ordered the 16-ounce prime rib dinner for $48 and asked for it as rare as they were willing to serve it. I ordered the smoky bbq bacon Burger for $23 and requested it medium done. The first prime rib they brought out was surprisingly small, extremely fatty, and well done--not even close to what she ordered. My burger was also cooked well done. I ate it because I didn't want to wait for another one, but she sent the prime rib back. The replacement was much better and properly cooked, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. The service was disappointing as well. My water glass sat empty for the last 30 minutes we were there, and nobody offered to refill it. She also tried the mashed potatoes for the first time, and we both thought they were terrible. They had a strange sweet, mayonnaise-like flavor that did not belong in mashed potatoes. Our bill was approximately $100 for one prime rib dinner, one burger, and no drinks other than water. At those prices, the food and service should have been much better. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to this location again.

If you cannot resolve a problem, or if it is an ongoing issue, you should escalate it to someone with the expertise and authority to address consumer concerns. Do not wait for customers to approach you after the situation has already deteriorated, especially when a flippant response has shifted the tone of the interaction. Another option would have been to table the conversation for a later time or on a different day until more information was available. What began as a discussion about a product concern quickly became focused on a employee instead of the issue itself. The manager appeared to become frustrated, stated to understand the main concern, yet responded with an unnecessarily intense tone and level of defensiveness. There was considerable deflection, repetition, and what felt like half-truths rather than a sincere effort to work toward a mutual solution. The manager should remember that they represent the Root of Happiness brand. We have been patronizing Root of Happiness for at least 10 years, long before the owners expanded to the Roseville, Midtown, and Rocklin locations. Additionally, over the last few weeks, the Justin's Peanut Butter Cups have seemed unusually dry. It may be the result of a bad batch from the vendor or the effects of extreme weather conditions impacting the product's quality.

The hostess greeted us with a question. "You ladies came to drink or to eat?" She asked. We came for both! We sat outside near the entrance way. First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. The ribs-10/10 fall off the bone seasoned well with some kind of green sauce at the bottom. The garlic shrimp- 10/10 in chili garlic oil with focaccia bread. A Second Chance That Fell Short - we gave this restaurant a…read moresecond chance tonight after an unfortunate experience here about a year ago that left me with food poisoning. I genuinely wanted to believe that was an isolated incident and was willing to give the restaurant another opportunity. Unfortunately, the food was again a major disappointment. We ordered a burger medium, but it arrived essentially raw. After the previous experience, that was particularly concerning, and I simply pushed the food aside. I also received fries that I never ordered and was charged for them. They appeared to be the remnants of the evening--mostly small, overcooked, and crusty--which only added to the frustration. The service compounded the experience. We sat at the bar, as we had previously, and it took roughly 5-7 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. When the food arrived, we had to ask for napkins and silverware. Then, when we were ready to leave, it took another 10 minutes or so to get anyone's attention. I ultimately had to holler to people standing about five feet away just to get someone to close us out. Everyone was pleasant enough on the surface, but hospitality is about more than being friendly. It's about awareness, attention to detail, and making guests feel genuinely looked after. Maybe the mistake is sitting at the bar. I'm willing to consider that. But after giving this place a second opportunity following a very bad first experience, I expected the details to matter a little more. A restaurant earns loyalty through consistency--not just when everything goes perfectly, but especially when it doesn't. Unfortunately, this second visit left me with the same feeling as the first: disappointed, and still without a compelling reason to come back for a third try.
