Was not disappointed on this brunch pick and a huge plus very close to home! On this visit I tried the breakfast sandwich and paired it with one of their fresh squeezed juices. Just a heads up come hungry cause you're gonna want to order one of everything!!

This place is easily located off the I-80 as you head up to N. Lake Tahoe. We stumbled across this restaurant after our soccer game. The restaurant can be seen off the freeway with plenty of parking. The menu appears to be Ukrainian influence. As you enter the restaurant you have to place your name on the waiting list, a bite antiquated system, but it works. We ordered the California smash burger served with French fries. The burger was cooked perfectly along with its fresh condiments of lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, onions, etc, overall, fresh veggies. The orange juice is fresh squeeze with pulp, just delicious! The syriniki was delicious light and cooked perfectly, just perfect. Overall great restaurant!

Greenhouse in Penryn is such a hidden gem. The atmosphere is cozy, calm, and elevated without feeling pretentious. You can tell they care about presentation and quality. I ordered the pistachio latte and it was beautiful. The rim was coated in crushed pistachios which gave it great texture and a subtle nutty flavor with every sip. It was smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. My girlfriend got the white mocha and loved it. Rich, creamy, and done right. We also tried the chebureki and it was incredible. Crispy, golden, and fried perfectly without being greasy. The filling was flavorful and juicy, and the sauces on the side brought it together. It tasted fresh and intentional. The only hiccup was making the reservation. We tried calling all week since both the website and Instagram say to call, but no one ever answered. When we walked in, the hostess let us know reservations are made through Instagram, which was confusing since their page says to call. Thankfully she was kind and helped us secure a reservation on the spot. Aside from that communication issue, everything else was excellent. Great food, beautiful drinks, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth visiting.

Went yesterday, on a Thursday about 11:15am for breakfast. Restaurant tucked away in the corner. The outdoor area is quaint and peaceful. Every table in front room was taken accept one in corner near door. A good sign. No host available to greet me. Waited about 5 minutes ... decided to call the restaurant to ask how to check in. Server came over once i phoned. Outdoor seating might be a weekend thing. Had the classic eggs Benedict w potatoes. The potatoes are very tasty, flavorful and soft. The Benedict's were decent. Perhaps my taste buds off. Rose latte was yummy. I love the fireplace in the backroom. The space had an over all peaceful feel to it. The area is rural which is why i visited Penryn. Suggestion, create sign to inform a host will be with you in a moment. So there is no guessing as to how to check in. Other than that! I might go back someday.

such a lovely space with great potential for hosting events/gatherings! There were 2 large tables of baby showers happening during our visit. Food was absolutely wonderful although it was quite the wait. We (party of 4) waited about 50 minutes for our food. I think most tables around us were having similar wait times. If I could, I would go during the week to hopefully avoid that kind of wait time again.

We gave Greenhouse Penryn another try because our first visit may have been too large of a group for them to handle (even though we were the only group there...). We came as a group of 3 and were immediately seated. We ordered a few different dishes to share and while the items we tried were fine, the whole experience was still lacking. It took forever for our food to come out. The Benedict, sandwich, and French toast were decent, but the pan fried European pancakes? So insanely inedible. We left most of it uneaten. I get that it's a cute brunch spot in a small town but I just don't see the appeal. Quite pricey with small portions too.

I've been seeing this place on Yelp when I look up brunch spots . I had been wanting to try it out . So glad I finally stopped by. The outside has this beautiful water fountain. The views are absolutely beautiful because there is so many trees out there. The inside was very elegant and organized. I got the pistachio latte which was really beautiful looking latte. It tasted delicious too. They had a lot of options in the menu that I wanted to try, but I went with the avocado toast. Their potatoes are very delicious as well. I got a little full, but I really wanted to try their pastries. Everybody working there was very nice and attentive. I definitely recommend this brunch spot and I can't wait to go back to try new dishes.

This place is legit! The food was extremely delicious and filling. We ordered two lattes and two avocado toasts, the cilantro avocado and the caprese avocado- both so yummy. We got the pistachio latte and the matcha latte which were also both so perfect on a rainy day. The service was excellent and I just love the indoor ambiance. I will say, they should turn off the water spouts out front during the wind and rain, as it was a bit of a chaotic scene out front with the shooting spouts blowing wildly in the wind. I think the calm waterfall with the rain would be a much more relaxing experience for guests (: I thoroughly enjoyed the decor inside with lots of plants and hanging roses.

what a great place to hold your event at

my first time here today and I would highly recommend. They told me it could be up to a 40 minute weight which I was willing to stay and enjoy the beautiful ambience outside and inside with a fresh iced tea.. Didn't take 40 minutes and we were seated and served by Evelyn, who was very informative about the menu and had prompt service. The food did not disappoint. Would highly recommend looking forward to my next visit to try the Ukrainian menu

Came here for brunch with my sister and mom during the week, and it was my first time visiting. The place is absolutely gorgeous bright, open, and airy. It would be a beautiful spot for a baby or bridal shower (though I'm not sure if they host events). I started with a caramel latte, which was delicious and exactly what I needed to wake up. For brunch, I had the California Benedict, served with a salad and crispy potatoes. The eggs were poached perfectly, and while I'd never had a salad alongside a Benedict before, it surprisingly worked it was refreshing and made it feel like a true brunch experience. The service was excellent, especially considering it seemed like only two servers were working. We never felt rushed, which made the meal even more enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend stopping by on the way to Tahoe or Auburn it's right off the freeway and easy to get to.

$4/ea Macaroons were good.

I really wanted to like this place. Wait time for our reservation wasn't too bad and our server was very kind. However, food took forever. It was cold and just so-so once we finally got it. Macaroons were good though. I think if you're not in a hurry and don't have high expectations, give this place a try.

Expansive menu also a Eastern European cuisine options

Came here this afternoon around 1:30pm for lunch. This is an expansive restaurant with a lounge area, beautifully designed and decorated. A place that's equipped for large families too. We had a 40 minute wait but we were informed there would be a wait and finally seated. We took about ten minutes to look through the menu and both decided on the tomato soup that came with a three cheese sandwich. The wait time on the food was incredibly long. Everyone seemed to have been waiting for quite a while. The food was average, but good. I would like to come back and try something from their cultural cuisine but most definitely not on a weekend. We came at 1:30 and left around 3:30pm. Aesthetically, it's beautiful but most definitely needs to be more efficient on getting the customer's fed and getting them out. I really wanted to love this place.

I was hesitant to come in because I heard many negative comments from friends about the customer service. But I decided to try it. And we were very well treated. The ambiance is beautiful and calming. Full of plants and art! The mocha and capuccino tastes great. You can tell they use good strong coffee. Then the food was equally as good. I recommend it. We arrived early and had no issues with getting a table. This place also serves an Eastern European menu and most of the items are Ukrainian. We also saw many Ukrainians there supporting the business. It's a beautiful place. Lots of parking.

The reviewers don't lie about this wonderful little Burmese cuisine place. Friends have told us…read moreabout it, and the reviews tell a story too. The location in Loomis is a little off the beaten path (you think you are leaving town), and in a super small strip mall. Step inside and you find a cute little family owned restaurant that will make you wonder "where did I just get transported to?"... A few tables in the front room and a second dining area to the right. It is important to note that you MUST be patient! There is only the owner running the front of house here. She is doing everything. Super friendly, and being as quick as she can to get tables cleared, people seated, orders taken and served. She does all of this with the most wonderful smile and personality. You will immediately fall in love with her. Many of the diners on this particular night already knew her and appeared to have long standing relationships with the family. We came in on a Saturday evening around 5:15pm and the floor was packed. It remained that way until around 6:30pm. I would suggest coming in later in the evening so the 'regulars' can get in and out. Ok, so now on to the food and why the Green Elephant is such a standout. Everything is super fresh, and flavorful with great depth in the sauces. We started with the tea leaf salad, and pork lumpia. Then Panang chicken and spicy garlic pepper pork and an order of rice. We love spicy food, and requested such (she has a spice scale of 1-10). Our mains were a level 7 and that was sufficient to give us good heat without compromising the flavors. She will also bring you a small dish of chili pepper oil if you want even more heat. By the time we were finished, the floor had cleared, so we know now to arrive a little later. But, return we will !!!

When we arrived, we were seated quickly with no reservation and no wait, which was the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. Our server introduced himself, but communication was difficult throughout the meal. We ordered drinks and asked for a few minutes to review the menu. When we asked what the soup of the day was, he initially told us clam chowder, then immediately said he needed to go find out. More than 10 minutes later, he returned, and when we asked again, he admitted he had forgotten and left once more. After another lengthy wait, he finally informed us the soup of the day was split pea. We then attempted to order a pizza and were told that pizzas could not be ordered until 10:30 a.m. At the time, it was only around 9:30 a.m. I decided to order the Peach & Prosciutto Flatbread appetizer instead, only to be told that couldn't be ordered either because it was made in the oven. None of this was communicated when we were first seated, nor was it noted on the menu. It makes little sense to open at 9:00 a.m. while offering guests a menu containing multiple items that aren't actually available for another hour and a half. Had this been clearly explained from the beginning, it would have saved a great deal of frustration. By this point, I was hot, irritated, and no longer interested in ordering food. Had we not already received our drinks, I likely would have left. The other members of our party ordered the $21 breakfast burrito and the $25 smoked prime rib sandwich. Both were extremely mediocre for the price. The burrito was wrapped in a corn tortilla rather than a flour tortilla, had already come unrolled, and quickly became a messy, difficult to eat disaster. The prime rib sandwich was served on very dry bread and lacked flavor. Neither dish justified the premium pricing. The dining environment was equally disappointing, there were flies everywhere. We spent much of the meal swatting flies away from our food and ourselves, making it nearly impossible to relax or enjoy the experience. Management should seriously consider addressing this issue with proper fly traps or Quikstrike. After our food arrived, our server never returned to check on us, ask how the meal was, or offer water refills. When the bill was finally brought out, we waited another 10+ minutes before he returned to process payment. By then, we simply wanted to leave. What was most noticeable was how many people were waiting for tables while service moved at an incredibly slow pace. Faster, more attentive service would have allowed tables to turn over more efficiently and reduced wait times for other guests. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had here. Between the poor communication, lack of attentiveness, unavailable menu items, mediocre food, uncomfortable dining conditions, and excessive wait times, the value simply isn't there anymore. We left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The service we received warranted a $0 tip, and for the first time, we're questioning whether we'll ever return.

Stopped by Buckhorn for the first time for Father's Day lunch. Great joint for pretty good BBQ!…read more Buckhorn is an order at the counter and get a number type place. The line was long when we came in, but moved quickly. The bigger problem is that there aren't nearly enough tables for how many folks were dining in. We did end up finding a table on their patio- which is always a win for our family. For about $70, we got two kids' meals (one slider and one chicken tenders), a shareables order of the tri-tip tacos (that my wife ate as her entree), and a two-protein platter with the pulled pork and tri-tip. They asked how we wanted our tri-tip cooked, and we answered medium, but all of the tri-tip came out well done. The flavors of everything were good, though, and the portions are substantial. The kids' meals are a great value. The two-protein platter was enough for two meals if you wanted it to be. The tacos were filled generously and were very tasty. I enjoyed the coleslaw- though I read some others find it bland. I did not think that at all. I really enjoyed the selection of sauces available at Buckhorn. They have a pump-your-own-sauce station with several types of BBQ sauce, horseradish sauce, ketchup, and spicy ranch. Yum! My favorite was the mustard-based BBQ sauce. Overall, I would totally return to Buckhorn. I could probably lean 4 stars here, but I think it's a better spot for BBQ than many others in my area and in the Roseville area that I've tried. It's certainly made my Roseville area visit list.
