If you do bring your electronics here keep in mind that you will potentially have to wait days just for them to run a diagnostic on your devices; and after that, wait for parts to arrive. In my case, I waited close to 2 weeks for everything to be done. The wait was worth it IMO. The price was more than fair. One critique would be that they weren't good on calling me for updates. If you're reading this be smarter than me and beware...I dropped off my MacBook Pro for their "free diagnostics" which they claim takes 2-3 days, it took them close to two weeks! Horrible communication. I mean if you can't work on newer macs at least let the customer know. Gave me lame diagnostics. Oh and not to mention they have no respect for your equipment. I literally picked it up today and it had scratches all over the top (see the images in the attachment) and before the owner claims it came in like that, no I take extreme care of all my computers because I work hard for them, and they had the audacity to give it back with scratches they did and chose not to bring it to my attention. Shows you how they care for their own property. I will warn everyone I know to stay at least two zip codes away from this place. Of course my computer decides to quit on me the day I try and backup my files. I found Hi-Tek on Yelp with no references or any idea of who they were. I spoke with Edgar to get some general information and explain the state of my computer. He was great. He was patient in listening to everything I had to say and in answering all my questions. I never felt rushed in my conversation with him and I felt that he was really listening. I felt comfortable enough to take my computer to him. His follow up call after inspecting my computer with his diagnosis was just as good as my first conversation. He was still very patient and answered all the questions I had about his diagnosis and about the quote he provided me. He seemed to understand and be respectful of the customer's concerns and questions. The one thing that I was a little disappointed with is the warranty on labor. The warranty is only at 30 days and I felt that it should be at least 60 days. This place is quite literally a hidden gem in Downey. If you don't know exactly what you're looking for, it could be very easy to miss. It was for me the first time I tried finding it. I had to refer back to the Yelp reviews to try and find out where it was located. For that reason, I have added many pictures to my review to help anyone else find it easily. It shares a unit with JP Services, and you'll see more signage for that than you will for HTS. Look for the black and gold decal on the far left window of unit 2. That will give you the confirmation that you've found the right place! After finding it, I was able to sit down with Edgar and explain my problem in detail. After asking me one question (what's the make and model?), he already knew what the solution was. WOW! He explained the specifics to me and all I could think was "OK, great...this is either unfixable or it's going to cost me a fortune.", but to my relief, Edgar assured me he could fix it. Not only could he fix it, but it would only cost $89.00 and it would be ready in 24 - 48 hrs. AWESOME! Edgar called me in LESS than 24 hrs and informed me that my laptop was ready to be picked up.
