I came to data recovery man with a 15+ year old external hard drive that had been sitting in a hot attic for years and had broken ports. I knew that somewhere there was a photo with me and Guillermo Ochoa and with it being the World Cup and his last game before retirement, I wanted to find it so bad! The device had all of my photos from my late teens and early 20's and I was worried they would not be salvageable. Wayne was so helpful and rushed the processing so I could get my photos on time. I was so happy that everything was recovered! I highly recommend them for data recovery services Here's the photo with Guillermo Ochoa from 2008! read more

Data Recovery Man - Guillermo Ochoa has been rescued! Thank you Data Recovery Man! - Data Recovery Near Me - Santa Ana, California

Had a hard drive that needed repair on the attached circuit/PCB board, blazing fast service. Thank you Wayne!

Honest and accomadating. Quick to pick up calls, he stayed later than closing to help me out, and did not need to do the whole data recovery process to fix my hard drive, which usually costs 375, so he told me to just name a price. I gave him 150 and he only took a 100. Quick service, from when I called to when I got it fixed, he got it done in less than an hour. Thanks Wayne! read more

Wayne is SUPER knowledgeable, super helpful, super accommodating, and super quick! I had a pretty standard external HDD failure, I was in and out of his office in 5 minutes - he knew exactly what to do and what to quote. He even worked with me to package the data with special instructions for me no problem. 4-5 days later, and all my data was ready for pickup. Highly recommend and will come back! read more

I have a Porsche 911 with a mechanical hard drive that wasn't reading correctly. I had purchased an SSD but getting a clone wasn't happening. I had first hoped to have the original drive read correctly but it was too far gone. Will was able to come to the same conclusion quickly. He then found an ISO image on a forum that was used. This was all done in Southern California but my home is on Vancouver Island. When I got home the new drive loaded up and my mapping and navigation are fully functional again. Thank you! read more

Wayne was amazing. He went above and beyond to retrieve my data, which he successfully did. Highly recommend this company.

I needed to recover important data from a flash drive that had stopped functioning. When I started calling around for help, I was floored by the cost estimates I was getting. Then I talked to Wayne at Data Recovery Man (aka Alandata.com). He quoted me a very reasonable price and told me to bring the flash drive down to his Santa Ana shop for an evaluation. I took the device down to Wayne, and barely a couple of hours later I was back in my office WITH MY RECOVERED DATA. To say I am a happy and satisfied customer would be a monumental understatement. Great Service for a very reasonable cost. Thanks, Wayne! read more

Wayne, Words cannot begin to describe the process from start to finish. I had a 512GB sd card that went bad a few days ago and I was frantically searching for places to assist in this recovery. I sent out a yelp project request and Wayne was one of the few people that was willing to take on the request. Mind you I asked on a weekend and Wayne said to bring it on in for an evaluation. WITHIN MINUTES, saw it was recoverable and so the rest is history. Wayne and his team made sure I knew what was going on through reports and multiple phone calls. I paid additional for rush but STILL ALL WORTH EVERY CENT. Exceeded the standards for sure. Best part is not only the level of service and hospitality, but my data has been saved. So thank you very much Wayne and your team! It may sound as if I'm overexaggerating but honestly come to Wayne and his team and you'll understand where I'm coming from. I will return for future recoveries! -John read more

Refund if they are not able to make it work, extremely communicative and efficient. Phone was fried from a pool and they were honest about the chances of recovery, they won't try to trick you or anything like that, these guys are chill. read more

I had such a great experience with Wayne and Bryton at Data Recovery Man. I brought them my iPhone 12 that had serious water damage and cracks on both the front and back. I had completely lost access to all my data, none of which was backed up. Before finding them, I went to another place in Costa Mesa (Yourtronics) where I was told the data couldn't be recovered. Thankfully, that turned out not to be true. Wayne and Bryton were able to recover everything in just about two weeks by doing a logic board repair and CPU transplant at their in-house shop in Santa Ana. They were personable, knowledgeable, and super responsive. I really liked their ticket-based text system that kept me updated with progress along the way. They also took the time to explain what was being done and taught me a bit about how the phone works. It's rare to find that kind of transparency and care these days. I'm beyond impressed and so grateful to have all my data back. If you ever get told your data is gone, definitely get a second opinion here. These guys know what they're doing and truly deliver. Don't waste your time with other data, recovery places, and come straight here! Thank you! read more

Had a power supply mishap that left nearly 4 terabytes of data, photos, and old memories trapped on two hard drives that would no longer read or start up. Wayne was absolutely helpful and patient with us, and helped us diagnose whether or not we could recover the drives. We ended up having to buy a new drive, but they were able to transfer everything over and save all of our files. Thank you so much! read more

I don't think there is anyone out there that matches Wayne in terms of his helpfulness, kindness, and dedication to his craft. I met Wayne independently while troubleshooting a sudden, large hard drive failure in a self-built Network Attached Storage (NAS) system. I was in over my head. Wayne offered me his number and took the time to talk me through the issues over the phone--a total stranger. He helped put my mind at ease, and also gave me an idea of what probably went wrong. While I haven't sent him the hard drives yet (our distance from his office is a factor), I wouldn't hesitate to do so should the circumstances require. If I lived closer I wouldn't hesitate to go to Wayne for all of my data recovery issues. read more

Wayne got back to me quickly and was able to get some answers to my questions about my 16TB Western Digital HD. Asked a lot of questions to determine if worth driving out to Costa Mesa area. Wayne was straightforward and honest that my particular HD data was not recoverable. Glad he took the time to follow up and ask questions about my drive. Expressed genuine concern and attention to try to help me. Would have gone to his business if data was recoverable. It was much appreciated that he took the time to respond. To Yelpers out there and hopefully for others if they will have less data damage to recover and I and certain Data Recovery Man can help save your data. read more

My mother had broken her usb filled with family photos from years back and was devastated. I immediately looked on Yelp and found this place and made a call. I made the drive and was told retrieving the data would be dependent on whether a small piece of glass inside was broken or not. Thankfully it was still in one piece. I go home and that same day I get a text letting me know they're working on it. And later on that they had competed the order, the very same day. They were so quick!! I wasn't able to retrieve the new usb until the next day but they had no issue with that. I would definitely come here again for all my data recovery needs! Professional and speedy! read more

Although we couldn't recover my files, Wayne and his team still provided amazing service, and even stayed after-hours to look into my storage devices. He's been doing this for 40+ years... he knows what he's doing guys. read more

I requested a quote from this place. The initial response was quick, and seem promising that they might be able to help. The last message was they will check with their police partner. I followed up a few times but no answer. I was gonna leave a good review because of your initial quick response, and seemed to be able to help. However, the lack of update is quiet disappointing. Update: Wayne did contact me after the review. It was a misunderstanding that I guess there is a glitch in Yelp. I appreciate him reaching out and will try to help. Therefore, I am changing the review from a 2 to 4. read more

I requested a quote for a data recovery from one dead portable memory device and transfer that data to the new one. The initial response was super fast - the first before anyone else, Wayne provided his number to call him. I brought the memory drives to him for an estimate and was quoted $600+ towards 900. This estimate was much higher than the other places and I took my business elsewhere. The drive was recovered the same day and for a fraction cost of what was quoted by Wayne. read more

I dropped my Samsung Z Flip 4 and the screen was damaged. I brought it to Best Buy and was told that there are only 2 places in southern California that could fix my screen. I have such high praise for data recovery man Wayne! Excellent service and in a timely fashion as well! I dropped my external hard drive on New Year's Eve and was devastated, because I had a ton of important photos and files. Hastily, I picked the closest place that offered data recovery services and it was one of those drop and ship type places even though they didn't tell me they were shipping it out of state AND they were going to charge me a fortune!! Luckily, I looked online and found Data Recovery Man with such awesome reviews and now I know why! I was able to get my hard drive back and spoke with Wayne who was able not only recover my data successfully, but for HALF the price! So, beware of those big companies who offer data recovery services. I HIGHLY recommend Data Recovery Man! Hopefully, I won't need to use him again, but if I do. He's my guy! read more

I called and came in after my year-old MacBook Pro randomly stopped working and I couldn't get past a black screen. It had been a year since I last backed up my data and as a musician who uses my computer all the time for remote recording, notation, etc, I was worried sick about it. Wayne told me not to worry, that he and his Mac guy would get my stuff back. Took a few days and Wayne was in contact the whole time, giving me frequent updates and reassurances. Cost almost $800 but I got all my data back and Wayne told me it was the tiny webcam cover that had caused the computer damage (I've never once dropped it, spilled anything, etc). Wayne is a consummate pro and I'd recommend him to any friends experiencing computer troubles (in fact I already have - expect a call from Paul soon, Wayne!) read more

I dropped the external drive. The important one. The one that had things on it I couldn't replace. I dropped it on the way to backing it up. I downloaded software to see if I could recover it. He did it fast, he went over with me what was on the drive, and even put back some of the meta data ( file names etc.) Can't recommend this enough. read more
