I came to JM-Info Techs to have them take a look at my older Toshiba Laptop that would not turn on. I tried a few things at home and had no luck. I checked google and also a neighbor had recommended JM-Info techs as well. I called and immediately he was very kind and patient with my questions. I decided I would take it in and see what the deal was. I came in and he immediately checked the power cord with a multimeter and low and behold the cord was the problem!!! It wasn't holding the correct voltage so the charge was all over the place. He had a replacement in stock and tried it out and what do you know! Presto. It worked!! Powered on as normal. I found this shop off of another YELP add from a shop no longer here. Im glad I did. I had a left field problem with my PC and took it into Jeff. He pulled the case cover and with in a couple minutes identified a hard ware problem that I over looked. If I had not seen myself I may even question how my CPU got loose. We saw it together and I was really at his mercy at that point. It would have been very easy to rack up a big bill quick. I feel he was straight forward and honest with me. He was thorough and explained things he did in detail. (a little over my head). We reseated the CPU, heat tested everything, flashed the mother board bios. He threw in a bonus cable and seated a hard drive properly that I had been lasy with. Cleaned it up and had me going just 2 days later. Everything was about 100 bucks. Jeff made some set up suggestions for me and when I went home and hooked it all back up I can honestly say its far BETTER then before I took it in and before needing repair. BAD NEWS GOOD NEWS The bad news is my hard drive failed, good news I stumbled on JM info techs. My hard failed and I wanted to find a computer repair tech nearby. Jeff, JM info tech, assessed the problem and explain the options and cost to repair the computer. Being old in computer years I was prepared to buy a new computer. Jeff explained my existing computer met my needs and with the exception of the hard drive was in good order and worth repairing. I walked into JM-InfoTechs to get an 802.11ax Wi-Fi adapter installed in my 3-year old HP Spectre x360 convertible ultrabook. I bought the adapter for a great price of $15 online (ordered elsewhere), but I couldn't figure out how to remove the back panel of my laptop using the tools I had available. Jeff charged me $50 for manual labor to install the adapter. I shrieked at the price, but I didn't have the patience to attempt disassembly again with my schedule. I asked Jeff what tool he used to remove the back cover and found it was a $5.48 steel blade that could be used to slide between electronic devices and pop them off instantly. Although my 802.11ax Wi-Fi adapter works great, I regret spending $50 to have it installed. This was overpriced labor. read more

Usually I'm a bit weary when I see someone that only has perfect reviews. It sometimes makes me cast some doubt on their validity. I decided to give Jeff a call and see how I felt based on my conversation with him. I had inadvertently updated a driver on my hard drive which caused it to completely crash. I had some very important documents and sensitive information on my laptop that I could not afford to lose. After showing a great amount of patience and listening to me describe my situation, Jeff try to help me troubleshoot by phone. After about 15 to 20 minutes of trying on the phone, he suggested it would be best to bring it in. When I asked him how much he wanted to charge me for his time on the phone, he did not want to charge me. That alone said a lot. I took my laptop to him right before a holiday weekend, and he did his best to work on it right away. I got a call from him once he had made an assessment. He wanted to make sure that he understood which files I wanted, and also mentioned that he could restore everything on my computer to keep it running. He provided not only the solution I asked for, but he also gave me several options to be able to use the same laptop without having to buy anything expensive. He easily could have suggested an expensive repair but didn't. To me, this speaks volumes of his honesty and commitment to providing the best possible service to his customers. I would not hesitate to take any of my computers to him again in the case that I come across a situation outside of my abilities. My windows 10 Dell desktop computer flashed a strange screen with green and white vertical lines on and stopped working. Thinking I had a strange virus, I messed with it a while...including trying to reload the operating system. I took it to JM-InfoTechs in frustration. I recently had a problem with my laptop that had a solid state drive that failed. I took it to another shop for repair. They were able to get my computer running but didn't want to be bothered to take any of the steps to set my computer up the way I wanted it set up.
