RunnerBoys Computer Repair & IT Services - They confirmed ready to pick up - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Irvine, California

We called RunnerBoys for help with our computer & printer. We told Eldad that our computer was running very slow & our printer would not communicate with the computer. Both were only 2 years old. Within an hour, Eldad came to our home & worked on them and totally resolved all of our issues. His professionalism & patience with us was beyond our expectations. He definitely went above & beyond to help us. Both our computer & printer are back working like brand new. His customer service was the very best and we will never ever use any other computer repair service again. We would highly recommend him to any person or business that needs a computer guru. Very, very satisfied customers! Debbie & Rick Douglas read more

They fixed my laptop screen. They diagnosed what was the problem and provided me a quote. My insurance confirmed they would pay the cost and after that they ordered the parts and fixed my computer in a timely manner. I appreciated the communication of each step. read more

Still the very best in my book! I informed Eldad what was going on with my computer and he gave me a simple diagnostic test to run. The results equated to a high probability of needing to replace my hard drive and add RAM. Given the estimate and the fact that my computer was 5 plus years I opted to start over with a new machine with more processing power and RAM. Regardless, I know when I call the Runner Boys, they will not steer me wrong and will help me determine my best course of action given my particular circumstances. I am back on track with my creative writing projects and that makes me very happy. Thanks again sir. Much appreciated. read more

Just got my HP laptop fixed that ifix4U couldn't fix. They may not respond to your messages promptly but they got the job done the right way. Highly recommend them! read more

UPS left my package here for pickup. I wasn't able to get it in the time allotted by UPS and Eldad kept it for a few extra days. I appreciate that because had UPS picked it back up, it would have gotten sent back to the shipper. Eldad was very pleasant to deal with too. Thanks! read more

BEST computer repair service EVER. Same day resolution and my computer is better than the first day I've owned. Very reasonable pricing as well. Would recommend 10000000/10. read more

Glad I found these guys. Needed help replacing an old Mac battery. After watching the online tutorials, it looked like a painful process, so figured it was worth hiring this one out. I sent out a few project requests and received a quick response and a very reasonable quote. Brought the laptop in when they opened and it was ready for pickup same day in the afternoon. Laptop is running perfectly! Very professional. Easy to find in an outdoor plaza. Plenty of parking. read more

I needed to replace my HP Pavilion laptop battery, it was holding charge for only 30 minutes when unplugged. I found RunnerBoys on Yelp, and contacted them via phone/text. I got a reasonable preliminary quote. I wanted to see if it was possible to install a larger capacity battery, and so I decided to stop by later in the day for diagnostics. Eldad diagnosed my laptop and ordered the battery of the right size. He installed it a few days later, once it arrived. Eldad is very professional, knowledeable, courteous, he did great work and also went an extra mile to answer all my questions. Much respect for professionals like him. Note that they are now located inside the wireless phone store (still next to Northwood Pizza, but there is no RunnerBoys sign outfront, Google Maps is slightly outdated). read more

My laptop kept glitching and not connecting to the internet (it was driving me crazy!). My mom found this company & they were able to resolve the issue the same day, as well as walk me through ways to make my information more secure. Really professional & efficient service at a super reasonable cost. Will continue using this company for any future computer issues. read more

Definitely five star service. Ildad came promptly at the agreed time and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem with the computer & keyboard. Pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable service--what more can you ask for? Thank you RunnerBoys read more

Awesome company. Great experience from beginning to the end. The owner is knowledgeable and a straight shooter. You will not get any feeling of upselling here. Overall I had my PC diagnosed of its issue and repaired timely and at a fair price. read more

I called the number and the voicemail box was full and unable to leave a message. However Eldad call me back within the next 5 minutes based on the missed call. We went over my laptop issue over the phone and he gave me some general ballpark estimates based on best and worse case scenarios. I dropped off my laptop and he got back to me very quickly with the diagnosis. It ended up not needing his service but his prompt response and excellent attitude was refreshing. I would definitely go with Eldad should I have another issue in the future and I would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

I brought my Asus laptop into the store because one day the screen completely died on me despite the power still on. Eldad told me that the repairs should be roughly done in a week or two but the entire process ended up taking almost 3 months since the motherboard kept failing. Personally, i didn't mind the repairs taking longer than usual. However, I do expect updates on how the repair process was going, which was terribly hard to get. I would call eldad to get an update and he said he would call me in 30 minutes and never call me. He also never left a message or called me to inform me that repairs were finished at the end of three months. Overall, I do respect his dedication to repairing my laptop but I wish that the communication was better. read more

This place is pretty good, I brought a Dell Laptop (a few months ago) and they had no trouble fixing it. I found out it was just dirty and the laptop was old, but they repaired it and replaced one of the fans. They didn't charge much, I thought they did a good job because normally I just open it up and fix it myself. They were kind, most of the time when I bring an old laptop to a store people just try selling me a new one. I probably could have done it cheaper, but they did it the right way and I didn't have to deal with opening it and screwing it up myself. These people are professionals, and very nice. read more

The one star reviews regarding this place seem all to be true to me right now. I have failed to contact them through store phone, owner's personal phone, messages, and email. I see that Eldad replies to all the bad reviews here, so I guess this is a last ditch effort to reach them. I had given them my computer around the middle to end of June, and was told it would be fixed in 5 business days. Fast forward half a month, I have to leave the country and there is no sign of my computer being fixed. After negotiation they extended the warranty of the fix to a month after I came back to the US. It has now been almost two months since I've came back to the US, and the computer is still in the shop, the store completely unreachable through phone and messages. I am out of the state and cannot go in person, and they've completely ignored most things I've been messaging, texting, etc. I have throughout this entire interaction given them my utmost respect and patience, and while I understand and agree that Eldad and other store workers had amazing attitudes when I was able to reach them, things are simply not being solved and communications are extremely one sided from me. It is also worth mentioning that during the time I was in the state I had picked up and dropped off the PC 3 times because the first two times it was sent back no issues were solved. I've told them over and over it was an issue with the display port yet everytime it was sent back and I had to bring it back to the store they told me they did not test with the display port. There was not a single time I received an update over any form of communication anytime I was promised one. Extremely disappointed, I will change this review if things start picking up and going in the positive direction. As for now it does not look like anything will change and I will just go pick up the broken PC and give it to some other location once I am home. Update: I have reached the store and had multiple calls with Francisco, whose attitude became immediately worse and unresponsive the moment he heard I was justifiably angry. Eldad remains completely unreachable during this entire event. Francisco told me the pc is ready to pick up, I had my parents go and the computer was completely dissembled "ready for pick up" or "wait for tomorrow and we will put this back together". I have attached further photo evidence, this place is the biggest scam in the entirety of irvine. They will charge you money for horrible customer service and incomplete work. If you do decide to come here make paper form contracts of all timing and details so you can sue them to the small claims court. Trust the one star ratings, they speak truth. read more

Have been my go-to place for computer repairs. They swapped out the hard drive on my desktop. So now I don't have to worry about it crashing. They have also fixed my software issues where I lost the sound on my desktop. They've also replaced an internal battery on my laptop, the one that powers the internal clock. They're pretty responsive. Like many places, may not have enough manpower to be as timely in their response as you may like, but they get it done. read more

RunnerBoys Computer Repair & IT Services - Next to Northwood Pizza - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Irvine, California

Thinking back to the time maybe a year ago when my laptop fell and broke. The young guy working (not the owner) said it would be a few hundred dollars to put in a new screen or just $75 to disable the touchscreen. I called a knowledgeable friend to ask which I should do. He said disabling the touchscreen was just a toggle in my settings that I could do myself in 30 seconds, and it was. Proceed with caution. read more

The owner seem friendly and professional at first. I brought my PC in for a fix because my computer would stuck in the boot page instead of going into windows system and on my screen it stated my hard drive ssd has problems needs to be replaced. I brought it in, the owner took it and told me there is a $50 just for diagnostics. And I am okay with that, but the owner just told me yeah your ssd is failing and went bad after waiting for like half an hour. Didnt I already know that? Feels like a waste of time for me. I've worked with computers most of my life but I don't know anything about what goes on inside of them and so when my computer crashed, I was stuck in a situation where I needed help. Originally, I went online to try to figure how to fix it on my own, but I ended up getting so lost, I decided to go somewhere else, where they could do what I couldn't do. Which was when I found RunnerBoys. It was so nice to be able to take it into someone who understood the problem, and offered a solution (at a reasonable price). These guys were professional and knew exactly what they were talking about. Ultimately, they were able to get my computer back up and running again, within a very quick turnaround (2 days). In addition, I was so relieved and appreciative of their honesty (not taking advantage of me), to spend much less the cost with these guys versus going to some corporate company that will charge you, muchhhh more than what you need to pay. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Last week, I dropped my phone on the ground, and it was completely blacked out, and the timing couldn't have been worse as I was leaving for a flight for my birthday to Las Vegas. I felt my whole trip would be ruined. But I thought I'd reach out to see what I could do. Eldad immediately picked up the phone, took to my concerns right away, and within a few days right before leaving Eldad had the phone brand new, gave me excellent techinical analysis on what had happened, and replaced additional parts I didn't even realize were broken. We've been going to the Runnerboys since 2018, and Eldad has helped fix multiple gaming computers and phones. All the employees I have met give great care, and have a genuine passion for finding solutions to some of the craziest technological problems I've experienced. Runnerboy is a massive asset to our community. Thank you so much! I was able to have an awesome time in Vegas which wouldn't of been possible without your team. read more

After checking out their 5-star reviews, we contacted Eldad via message regarding some issues with my friend's aging MacBook Pro circa 2015. He was very quick to respond, and within an hour, we were at his shop in Irvine. It took him about 20 minutes to assess the problem with her email and show her how to reconfigure her desktop. Not only was he super professional and expert, he was also willing to teach her a few things about her laptop that she had not been aware of. For someone who is not very computer savvy, this was a bonus for her! He also did not try to upsell her or suggest any unneeded repairs or modifications. Finally, Eldad was personable, friendly, and supportive. He's her new computer go-to man! Thanks, Eldad! read more

Eldad is amazing and just a really good guy. I rarely write reviews. I only wrote 2 reviews in all the years of using yelp. I needed help transferring music to a flash drive for my son's school performance. This is not something this store normally services but he did me a favor and did it for me within 1 day for free. Who does that? What a nice guy! I would've paid anything for it because it was so important for my son. Thank you Eldad! I will give you all future business for IT and repair needs. read more

I went to them for a hardrive recovery. Three months later, I had my data after being left in the dark for weeks on end. Eldad does not return emails or phone calls, although he will swear up and down that he calls me back. Strangely he never left a voice mail, text, or return email in his efforts to get back to me. I had to physically drive to his store twice to get an update. Simply returning emails or phone calls would have avoided all of this heartache on both sides. read more

When my son's gaming laptop started having problems (reboots, halts, and blue screens), I checked with several independent friends if they know who can fix it. All three came back with the same answer - Runner Boys! I am so glad they did. It was certainly comforting getting a unanimous recommendation, but more so - the professional service won me over. From the thorough inspection, to the detailed problem report and estimate - I knew I was in good hands. RunnerBoys was also accommodating with a separate quote in case I wanted to replace the machine with a new one. Ultimately, I decided to fix the existing laptop, and I'm so glad I did. It was a fair price, and it now works great! I highly recommend you use them for any PC related issues. read more

Reached out to several places for repair of my kids' PlayStation HDMI port. They offered me the best price and said they could likely get it back to me same day. Brought it in immediately. He said if they didn't have the part, he'd have it ordered and back to me in 2-3 business days. I didn't hear back the first day, so assumed I'd wait. Checked back by stopping into the store because they didn't call me. He said he replaced the port but would need the rest of the parts to test the repair. Brought in the rest of the parts; now he had my complete system. Didn't hear back and kept messaging on Yelp, where I had initially reached out. They read my messages but didn't respond time and time again. Two months passed without a response. I called in and they pretended that they had tried to reach me. Confirmed my number. I KNOW they never called because I work on my phone and always have it on me, so they lied. Then he had the audacity to tell me that the repair would cost more because there was damage on the board. How did the board get damaged? Even after months of no communication, he wanted to take me for an additional $40. Really? All that for $40. He should have offered to provide it for free. That was it. Never heard back. Liars and thieves. UPDATE: After reading the owner's response below, I felt it necessary to clarify a few things. 1) No one is questioning whether you are trying hard to run a business. The reality is you screwed up in this case, which is clear, and you have failed to accept or admit it. I understand that you are pissed. You reference me using "bad words?" Well, that's because I'm pissed too! 2) I didn't come up with the price. You did. Had you communicated sooner, I wouldn't complain about the additional $40. It's the principle of it all. 2) The owner never called me. Not even once. This is clear from my first review. 3) Not only did the owner not call, he/they received numerous messages from me via Yelp (see pictures), read them, and never responded. 4) Let's be clear with regard to the definition of blackmail. When someone is in possession of your (CHILDREN's) property, and fails to respond, that is considered theft. Therefore, threatening (not blackmailing) to bring in the police to assist is regaining possession of said property is a justifiable threat in every way, but blackmail. The resolution here is quite simple: own up to your mistake and offer to make it right. Simple. Simple. Simple. Sometimes the most simple idea is the most logical as well. read more

I couldn't have been more impressed. I was amazed by everything: their response time through the Yelp app, their professionalism over the phone, the fact that they actually made a house call, the timelines of their visit, their CoVid protocols, how quickly and thoroughly they got a tough job done, their professionalism and customer service, and even the price. I would use them again in a heartbeat -- without a second thought. The gentleman who helped me was Eldad. He's a really nice guy. I had a follow up question that night. It was after business hours so I left a voicemail. He called me back immediately and offered to help. I work with computers all the time. I even manage a team of full stack developers, including dev ops and systems administration. I know enough to know how bad the situation was when i called. But it's abundantly clear to me that his solution was 100% effective. Plus, he explained everything to me as he went, which I really appreciated. In short, I couldn't be happier -- or more impressed! read more

My laptop had an expanding battery, so it needs to be replaced. They were quick to respond with quotes and scheduling, which is a big plus. They did a quick diagnosis of my laptop and quickly got to work ordering a new battery, communicating things via mobile. They have a ticketing system you can view on your mobile on progress & payments. As humans, mistakes happen, but in their case, they resolved it in under 24 hours. That left a great impression on an already positive review of them. Informative, professional, and very convenient. Can't ask for more, but I can give them my highest recommendation for all your computer needs :) read more

Apple builds their computers so you can not repair them. A little food can cause your space bar not to work. To replace a key fully requires a hug part of your computer including the entire keyboard to be replaced. They glue on the speakers so if you try to replace the keyboard, you can easily wreck your speakers. Built to be disposable. All of the above was Apple's engineering. I doubt it was by accident. Every one of the above issues was run into when RunnerBoys fixed my machine. The problems were Apple's fault, 100%. Runner Boys navigated the issues, communicated problems as they came up, and ate the cost when my speakers needed to be replaced. They even got the speakers replaced while I waited on the second trip. I can not recommend them highly enough. It was a $700 repair or I could have bought a new machine for $2500 or $3000. If Apple had designed the keyboard for real life use, with replaceable keys and spring mechanism, then it could have been a $30 repair. Great job Runner Boys. One more thing. Go next door and get a slice of pepperoni pizza each time you visit. It's really good. Oh, and the owner was even willing to drive to the shop to get my computer from me while I waited in my car because my kid was asleep. Top notch customer service. Highly trustworthy. If they are too busy and don't call you back, just call again. read more
