I called last Friday to get a technician to come out today, Monday, to activate my ethernet port here at home. I had a 1:30 pm appointment. I figure things happen and take time so I didn't call until 2:30 pm or so to check on where the technician was. I was told that my job had "not been added to the schedule" but they would see when a tech could be there. I was then told 3:45-4:00pm. No one arrived. I called at 4:15 pm and was told they were 25 minutes away. I called at 5:01 and the voicemail said the office was CLOSED and here it is 5:15 and no one EVER ARRIVED. I realize compared to other jobs this company has, my job was small and not worth a lot of money. However, the measure of a great business is to treat small customers as well as your big customers. If you don't show up when scheduled, fail to add a job to your schedule, and keep lying to your customer about the arrival time of your tech who NEVER shows up at all...why would I trust this company with my larger corporate work? How you treat people matters, whether the job is big or small. This was unacceptable today and I did not appreciate that I had to keep calling YOUR business to find out what was going on, what happened to the tech, etc. Why aren't YOUR people communicating with customers? Why didn't anyone apologize? Why didn't anyone call before close of business to say, "Hey, we're not coming!" I was extremely unhappy because no one cared that I had taken time off work to meet the tech and no one cared enough to even CALL me and let me know what was going on. You guys dropped the ball big time here and were incredibly thoughtless and rude. Update: They just arrived at 5:36 pm. The techs themselves were GREAT and were able to do the work and complete the job. However, I wanted someone to know about the lack of transparency and communication today as it was very upsetting to me. The quality of work and the people you hired to do the actual technical job were terrific, knowledgeable and qualified. I realized it was not THEIR fault today, but I think it's important for people to know about the communication problems. Good value. Was referred to Smartology as a local installer (along with other similar local vendors) by the Ring security company. After confirming their rates (by far the most competitive in my area of Orange County) for installing my 3 Ring cameras (2 outdoor, 1 indoor) following a free estimate inspection, we scheduled an installation the following week. On the installation date, they sent two of their junior electricians to perform the job. Although it was obvious that they had limited previous experience installing security cameras, they worked all afternoon with my very demanding mother to get them set up just the way that she wanted them positioned (including a mini solar panel for one of the outdoor cameras). Then, their manager Moudi finally stopped by to double-check the work and ensure that everything was working correctly. Weeks later, when one of the cameras suddenly and mysteriously stopped working, they still sent someone (who came while they were in the nearby area for a different job) to fix the issue at no extra charge. Smartology installed over 12 unifi cameras on a very complicated 2 story house - they made sure every security camera had hardwired poe and ran cables through walls so that you cannot see wires at all. It was a hard job that other vendors just wanted to run wires outside the house walls which would be faster and leave wires exposed / unsightly. Smartology took the harder and correct way and they were willing to do what it took to get it right. I'd recommend them if you need a solid hardwired security setup. They did everything from running wires, installing the cameras, configuring the unifi dream machines, setting up internet, filling and patching the drywall they needed to open to run cables through. This guy came out to my Laguna beach house , set some stuff up and left. He never showed me how to use anything. not even the key pad. Did not explain anything just , took my money $1,000 and left Without explaining anything. I guess they think their workers shouldn't have good communication skills. Then they ordered the wrong solar attachment. Then when the right one came - That FAILED too. So I called 3 times !! and They never return phone calls even though they say they will. Bad business , and do not return phone calls. Can't even set up a solar ring camera. which Still FAILS. Bad business with bad service. Owner's response lies and blames my workers , but what do my workers have to do with them not returning phone calls, not returning text messages , not explaining anything they set up due to poor communication, and Smartology not being able to set up a solar ring camera ? read more

We dealt with frustrating intermittent internet outages at our rental for months. Spectrum had already replaced the modem twice and worked on the line, but the issue kept happening and was hard to troubleshoot from tenant feedback. Smartology took a look and troubleshoot our current setup (everything outside of ISP). They were honest and didn't try to upsell us on unnecessary products or manufacture or exaggerate problems. They answered all my questions no matter how small. Even though our current set up was good, they recommended switching to a UniFi system for improved diagnostics, especially for remote system monitoring. Prices were fair and they ended up installing the UniFi system. The data showed the problem was with the ISP, and Spectrum ultimately found a kinked, corroded service drop line on the main utility pole feeding the house. Issue finally resolved.
