Dont understand the low ratings. Everything was perfect :) love the pistachio cream. It's the best I've ever had (i dont think other boba store has this cream too). The toasted meringue was such a thoughtful addition too. I can also taste all the tea. The shaved ice was also very tasty! The tea flavor was strong. I love them all

    Grapefruit Mango Boom

Overall, I really wanted to like it. But the overall experiences was kinda just a flop. From confusing ordering and pick up procedures to underwhelming drinks. I got the Mango Grapefruit Boom and found limited to no fruit flavor in the fruit tea. Perhaps it is that the style is not for me but the overall experience was unorganized and a turn off from returning.

    Golden Oolong Yuzu

Overall: 3.7/5 They had a BOGO deal on the Golden Oolong Yuzu so we made the trip since this location was close by and open past 9 PM. It was absolute chaos though. Being right by Times Square did not help, and the line management was basically nonexistent so it was really confusing trying to figure out what was going on. Most people were waiting 25-30+ minutes for their drinks. I witnessed an angry customer and at one point, the cashier had to start warning people upfront that their order would take 25 minutes before he would even put it in. While we waited, one of the HeyTea researchers came and asked us about our tea habits, the brand, and feedback on the new drink after we tried it. For the Golden Oolong Yuzu ($7.49), we got one with sago ($0.49) and one with matcha jelly ($0.49). The sago paired way better with this drink than the matcha jelly. The yuzu was light and refreshing with subtle flavors, and you could taste the oolong tea coming through too.

I should've known better than to try to get boba in Times Square lol. Thought it was a perfect early afternoon pick me up and while the tea isn't bad (got their current seasonal Oolong Yuzu Tea), the setup at this store was really bad. Most people seem to online order, and as a result there's a huge backup at the pickup counter. Even though the store was almost empty when we walked in it took us 20 minutes to get our drink and even then we had to aggressively point out that our drink was off to the side. It had been ready but the person managing the pickup counter was overwhelmed with the number of online/pickup orders. The tea was good, nothing too amazing. Good tea flavor and the yuzu was a nice touch, but can't say we were too thrilled with it after the frustrating experience in store.

If you're into drinks with a creme brulee top, this new heytea drink is for you!! A rich cheese cloud, a sprinkle of brown sugar, and a light torch for a caramelized top. The salted cheese cream adds a subtle savory twist for extra depth. Their brown sugar bobo is slow-cooked in-store daily! The bobo's already sweet on its own, so get it with no sugar. I personally found it still too sweet for my liking, so I'll stick to their tea based drinks next time.

    Gongfu zero

This is the heytea lab location for the US! They have exclusive experimental drinks here that aren't at any other location. We ordered the matcha zero, but unfortunately they ran out, so they replaced it with the gongfu zero. The shaved ice had such a strong tea flavor, and there was delicious coconut jelly at the bottom. Honestly it's a good thing it's only at this location, or I'd be eating too many sweet treats on the daily.

Within 3 days, I came back again and again and tried: 1. Gongfu 3.3 - Black Tea, Milk, Pistachio Cloud with Toasted Meringue 2. Oolong Milk Brew 3. Matcha 3.1 - matcha, milk yuzy foam cloud 4. Oolong 3 - Oolong Tea, Milk, Pecan Foam Cloud Not one miss in these "experimental" drinks. Perfect balance of tea flavor, creaminess, and sweetness which is not too much nor artificial tasting. You should focus on the experimental drink menu bc the regular menu you can find at other Hey Tea stores. Ordering system needs work. After you put in your order, it's not clear if they make order according to the order # or your place in a confusing line at the counter. Regardless, this is worth a return next NYC trip.

Limited time tiramisu drink iced, as of 12/27/25
    Kayla N.

Stopped by Heytea during a very busy time and ordered the tiramisu drink iced. Despite the crowd, the tea came out relatively quickly, which I appreciated given how packed the shop was. The drink itself was really enjoyable. It wasn't overly sweet, which I loved, and the texture was creamy with great balance between the flavors. After stirring everything together, the cocoa powder mixed in and added a really nice hint of bitterness that rounded out the drink beautifully. That subtle bitterness from the cocoa was honestly my favorite part and kept the drink from feeling heavy or cloying. The shop gets very congested when it's busy, mainly because the ordering area is right by the front door. When there's a line, it tends to bottleneck right at the entrance, which can feel a bit chaotic. That said, once you've ordered, there's a nice counter area where you can stand and wait for your drink, which helps a bit with the flow. What really stood out to me was the unique assortment of teas on the menu -- there were options I hadn't seen elsewhere, which made the experience feel fresh and worth exploring. Overall, this was a solid first visit. Definitely worth trying, and I'd come back again to sample more from the menu (ideally during a less busy time).

Black tea, pistachio cold foam, with a marshmallow rim

I came to the Broadway location and they had this really fun exclusive drink here. It was an iced black tea with pistachio cream, marshmallow fluff, and matcha powder. Sounds like a lot but it was very good. Not too sweet which I liked. My mom wanted another one all weekend long. She drank half of mine and another on her own lol

This is my second time visiting this location in NYC. This is one of special Heytea location in Times Square. They sell their exclusive drinks here compared to their other regular locations. They do have their original menu in the back of the store. You will have to walk to back to order. The register in the front is where you ordered signature exclusive drinks . The service was quick. They have good amount of staffs to prepare the orders. My wait was about less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Tiramisu Milk Tea with no added sugar. It tasted okay. It didn't "wow" me but that's okay. It might because I didn't put % of sugar. I didn't want sugar anyway since I was afraid it might be too sweet. It was not sweet at all. I would love to try other drinks when the weather is nicer.

This is their chemistry lab store. While the setup is cool, the lines were long and the storefront is small, so waiting around was difficult since standing outside puts you right in the middle of Times Square. Came here for the bogo yuzu drink. Sometimes the pricing is hard to stomach if you're not getting bogo.

Hey there! I have a secret. This is no ordinary hey tea but a hey tea lab. A hey tea lab is where they do crazy experiments to concoct the next big potion that sucks your wallet dry. All jokes aside, they are really cooking at this lab with precise equipment. And by golly was it good. Their pistachio foam is richer than the other hey tea establishments in nyc. Do check them out- just avoid random rays.

The tea was alright, but the service and store setup left a lot to be desired. The overall arrangement felt poorly designed: customers needed to close their own drink lids, yet there were no proper bar tables to place the cups on. The "self-serve" station was positioned directly in front of the entrance, making the area constantly crowded as people came and went. Because of this, I had to use a very narrow side ledge next to the station to close my lid. Someone entering or exiting bumped into me, and my drink got spilled. (I don't blame him; it was really crowded anyway.) I immediately informed the cashier that a drink had spilled and asked if someone could clean the floor, apologizing for the inconvenience. The cashier appeared indifferent and no one responded. I had to notify them a second time because I was concerned about the wet floor, especially on a rainy day. I surely didn't want anyone else slipping on it. I then asked a server with a yellow/brown ponytail at the pickup counter whether there was a restroom where I could clean myself, since the drink had spilled on my coat and umbrella. She told me the restroom was not for customers, which I understood. I then asked if I could at least use their sink (visible from where we were) to rinse my dripping umbrella so that I could leave the store on the rainy day, and she replied, with clear annoyance, that the sinks were not for customer use either. While I was drying my umbrella with paper towels, another staff member (manager?) came out the back door and saw this, and she immediately offered to help rinse it for me. She was very kind, and while she rinsed the umbrella, I explained what had happened and apologized again about the spill on the floor. The earlier server with the blond/brown ponytail stood right nearby during the conversation but made no acknowledgment at all, nor did she even ever made an eye contact with me. Thanks to the staff member who helped me, and the gentleman who cleaned the spill , the drink was eventually remade. Their kindness is the main reason I am still giving three stars. As for the drink itself, I ordered a matcha tea from the Tea Lab. The floating cream had a pleasant aroma, but the tea underneath was unremarkable; I've had better at other places. Overall, this store would benefit from better service training. I travel extensively for concerts and have visited many milk-tea shops, including other Heytea locations. While some staff here were courteous, others fell well below average. The decision to have customers close their own lids directly in front of the main door, without providing a proper surface to do so, is also a surprisingly impractical design choice.

    Just like a magic potion!

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

Ahh, grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my childhood favorite dessert and summons nostalgia! It is my mission to search for bubble tea businesses that offers grass jelly as a topping for my primary reason to patronize. It was abundant which filled one quarter of my medium sized drink. The grass jelly topping is New York City standard priced at $0.50 at least there is sustainability and a sense of normalcy. I requested regular ice, but the entire ice dispensed disappointedly melted and the drink became room temperate. Heat wave medium $6.00 Passionfruit green tea with grass jelly, 50%, light sugar. The drink alone was good quality. While scanning the electronic menu the drink names appear very comical and not business appropriate as well as this bubble tea business name Ho Ho Te. The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items. Takeout menus are available for grabs. Loyalty card is available which also serve as business card where the back is printed in gold foil.
