This is their chemistry lab store. While the setup is cool, the lines were long and the storefront is small, so waiting around was difficult since standing outside puts you right in the middle of Times Square. Came here for the bogo yuzu drink. Sometimes the pricing is hard to stomach if you're not getting bogo.

Stopped by Heytea during a very busy time and ordered the tiramisu drink iced. Despite the crowd, the tea came out relatively quickly, which I appreciated given how packed the shop was. The drink itself was really enjoyable. It wasn't overly sweet, which I loved, and the texture was creamy with great balance between the flavors. After stirring everything together, the cocoa powder mixed in and added a really nice hint of bitterness that rounded out the drink beautifully. That subtle bitterness from the cocoa was honestly my favorite part and kept the drink from feeling heavy or cloying. The shop gets very congested when it's busy, mainly because the ordering area is right by the front door. When there's a line, it tends to bottleneck right at the entrance, which can feel a bit chaotic. That said, once you've ordered, there's a nice counter area where you can stand and wait for your drink, which helps a bit with the flow. What really stood out to me was the unique assortment of teas on the menu -- there were options I hadn't seen elsewhere, which made the experience feel fresh and worth exploring. Overall, this was a solid first visit. Definitely worth trying, and I'd come back again to sample more from the menu (ideally during a less busy time).

Hey Tea is good for the fruit tea, but honestly, they have a serious backup at the counter when trying to pick up orders. There's not enough space on the monitor to show all the numbers so the person doing the final touches keeps getting interrupted by people asking about their orders. They need better organization. You can wait to order at the counter or better of just using the kiosk since they tend to be busy.

The tea was alright, but the service and store setup left a lot to be desired. The overall arrangement felt poorly designed: customers needed to close their own drink lids, yet there were no proper bar tables to place the cups on. The "self-serve" station was positioned directly in front of the entrance, making the area constantly crowded as people came and went. Because of this, I had to use a very narrow side ledge next to the station to close my lid. Someone entering or exiting bumped into me, and my drink got spilled. (I don't blame him; it was really crowded anyway.) I immediately informed the cashier that a drink had spilled and asked if someone could clean the floor, apologizing for the inconvenience. The cashier appeared indifferent and no one responded. I had to notify them a second time because I was concerned about the wet floor, especially on a rainy day. I surely didn't want anyone else slipping on it. I then asked a server with a yellow/brown ponytail at the pickup counter whether there was a restroom where I could clean myself, since the drink had spilled on my coat and umbrella. She told me the restroom was not for customers, which I understood. I then asked if I could at least use their sink (visible from where we were) to rinse my dripping umbrella so that I could leave the store on the rainy day, and she replied, with clear annoyance, that the sinks were not for customer use either. While I was drying my umbrella with paper towels, another staff member (manager?) came out the back door and saw this, and she immediately offered to help rinse it for me. She was very kind, and while she rinsed the umbrella, I explained what had happened and apologized again about the spill on the floor. The earlier server with the blond/brown ponytail stood right nearby during the conversation but made no acknowledgment at all, nor did she even ever made an eye contact with me. Thanks to the staff member who helped me, and the gentleman who cleaned the spill , the drink was eventually remade. Their kindness is the main reason I am still giving three stars. As for the drink itself, I ordered a matcha tea from the Tea Lab. The floating cream had a pleasant aroma, but the tea underneath was unremarkable; I've had better at other places. Overall, this store would benefit from better service training. I travel extensively for concerts and have visited many milk-tea shops, including other Heytea locations. While some staff here were courteous, others fell well below average. The decision to have customers close their own lids directly in front of the main door, without providing a proper surface to do so, is also a surprisingly impractical design choice.

This is my second visit to the lab and after loving the lab drink I was excited to try something else. Upon arrival, I was surprised there was no line out the door. We waited for about 5 minutes and was able then to place our order. I decided to try oolong 3 but wanted pistachio cloud instead. The cashier was not accommodating. So I ordered it anyway as well as matcha 0 (matcha snow ice). Unfortunately I was right about my initial thought, it ends up not as good, not like it as much as the gongfu 3.3. Berry disappointed... will give it one more try.

This is the Hey Tea Lab location where they have experimental drinks that aren't released at other locations yet! We tried the Dubai Chocolate tea and the classic Mango Grapefruit Boom. These were two sides of the spectrum but both delicious! The Dubai Chocolate tea had a luscious thick chocolate mousse and a delicious (but inconvenient) chocolate and pistachio rim that meant you couldn't put a lid on the drink. The Mango Grapefruit Boom was a fantastic, refreshing slushy with the perfect meld of fresh fruit rounded out by the nutty coconut milk. Docking a star because we ordered in-store but they never called out my name to pick up my drink. When I finally asked about an ETA 20 minutes later, they handed me a slushy that had already started melting.

One of the few reasons to trek to Times Square. I think the Lab's drinks are more unique than the regular fruity tea menu of HeyTea (though they do have both menus available here! The regular menu is further down the store). The store itself is small with only standing room, but it's comfortable enough without getting too too loud (I went around 11am with a friend). I tried their Gardenia 5, with coconut water and a pistachio cloud. I found the coconut water to be quite mild and paired well with the strong flavor of the tea. The labels are cute with the name and my only con is the price - $9.90 is pretty steep for a tea drink.

The times square location features a heytea lab, featuring exclusive drinks that aren't available at other stores. These drinks are offered at the first station in the front and often have long lines (no online ordering). There is a second station in the back for all normal menu drinks or pickup. Visited here twice and found their tea lab drinks very underwhelming. First tried the gardenia which had a mild taste but nothing special and had the gongfu dubai next visit where i threw out the drink after a few sips Although their drinks look very instagrammable and unique, their taste doesn't match the look. The store is also super crowded and workers are squeezing past you and working nonstop to fill the hundreds of orders. Best drink remains their mango grapefruit boom that is available in every store!

I'm so glad I find this place. The girl at the counter was pretty quiet and spoke really low so it was a little difficult to order with her. It was also slightly difficult to see the menu, there were QR codes all over that only sent you to download their app, so we weren't able to actually see the menu until it was our turn to order. Now the drinks were worth the frustrations! The white tea 3.1 was so nice! That cloud foam totally surprised me with the size of it.. it tasted delicious. The matcha cloud coconut blue was sweetened by the slight coconut flavor. Loved that type of milk used was customizable in the drinks which is nice for those with dietary restrictions. You are also able to customize the sugar and ice level. I already can't wait to go back to try some more deliciousness.

Really cool experience at HeyTea. Overall, the location is easy to find since it's in the middle of Times Square. I don't love how crowded it gets but I guess that only means that's it worth the hype! The drinks truly do look like what you'd expect which I was really glad for. We got a mix of their matcha drinks and definitely were a fan. Personally, I don't love the coconut foam and don't find it sweet enough. My recommendation is the Supreme Brown Sugar Boba Milk tea. Basically, anything that's a sweet drink is my favorite for sure. I really want to continue to try their secret menu so I'll definitely be back. It's such a clean space inside and very inviting.

Not as good as normal hey teas. I was really excited to try the experimental flavors because where else would you find milk teas with all these unique ideas. Welp, turns out good idea doesn't equal good execution. I got a gardenia 3. It was flavorless. Like it just tasted like nothing cream. No tea taste and even the milk was just heavy. And pecan cream? What pecan?? Non in sight

Located right in the middle of Times Square, this HEYTEA offers a unique twist compared to other locations, with experimental drinks that are definitely Instagram-worthy. Be prepared though, drinks are on the pricier side, and there is usually a line both to order and to pick up. The atmosphere: You can watch the drinks being made, which is fun. Just a heads-up: there are two separate pickup stations--one for the HEYTEA Lab (experimental drinks) and one for the regular menu. We ordered from both but were not told they had different pickup spots, so we learned the hard way. The drinks: I tried a Lab drink, the Gongfu 3.3, which came topped with a toasted meringue cloud. It was super eye-catching, but not that great in taste. Felt like it was watered down, but the cream did help. However, I wish there had been an allergen warning, since it contained pistachios I was not aware of and I ended up having a reaction. The service: Service was quick and efficient, but I wish staff had communicated better about pickup locations and potential allergens.

The wait was too long for what it was, and there was also no space to wait for your drink after. I ordered the Gongfu 6! It's dairy free with coconut milk / oatmilk whipped cream with black tea, so it was basically like a tea latte. I like how you can see the baristas making the drinks! The cafe is narrow and there are no seats.

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!!
