    Taro Smoothie
    Bruce H.

I ordered a late night snack, and these people delivered (literally)! I ordered a Taro Smoothie and a Steamed Pork Bao Bun. The Taro Smoothie was interesting...mildly sweet, with the taste of an Oreo cookie! It was quite good. The pork bun had a tasty soft piece of pork inside a pillowy "clam shell" steamed bun with some sweet sauce inside...also, very good. Delivery was super fast, and packing was perfect with the smoothie top securely sealed, so no spillage, at all. Highly recommended for a quick late night snack delivery.

Self service ordering very convenient, but we asked employee for suggestions and she was nice and answered and let us know her opinion. Got two brown sugar bubble milk teas with tapioca 10/10, you are able to adjust sweetness and ice and milk or milk tea, they print it out on the label for you and announce it when your order is ready. Place was very nice had three main seating areas that are like a booth and had lots of decorations around, also had large seating area near register. Whole place was clean and nice along with bathrooms.

My friend and I were in the mood for bubble tea around midnight and decided to drop by Tbaar because it was the only boba shop open near us. I loved the decor and the table pods were a creative idea. There was only one night shift employee, and he was clearly working hard and making teas quickly. I initially ordered a large Aloe Grapefruit Tea, which was rated as their most popular drink. I took two sips and found it to be quite bitter and did not have any aloe. I pointed this out to the staff member and asked whether I can get the Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea with Boba instead. He kindly agreed, but he gave me the smallest size when I had paid for a large Aloe Grapefruit Tea. I figured he was tired, so I didn't bother asking him to replace the beverage with a larger one. However, the Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea did not taste good. I've had this drink several times in other places and have always enjoyed it. The one here just tasted like pure sugary milk and hardly had hints of brown sugar. Also, half of the cup was filled with ice.

Ambiance 5/5 nice seating inside and the bathroom had really good quality hand soap and lotion. Also really nice artwork and decor inside. Also conveniently located above a ramen restaurant so 2-1 boba and ramen and only open boba at the late hour in area. Service 5/5 Quick and efficient despite late at midnight. Food 5/5 They not only had really good Boba and lots of options. They also had good snacks were we got fried squid tentacles and fried sweet potato taro fries with really good breading and hit the spot for a midnight snack.

Awesome that this spot is open late-- Drinks are pretty decent, great for late night boba cravings. However we got the purple sweet potato fries (ordered ahead) to snack on but instead we got regular fries.. unsalted. :')

One of the best boba spots I've tried! The drinks were delicious and perfectly sweet. The place has a cozy and aesthetic vibe. I definitely recommend the Brown Sugar Milk Tea and the Matcha version!

Really solid boba, glad to see they have a ton of locations throughout the country. GRAPEFRUIT Their grapefruit drink is surprisingly their most popular, but after trying it I can def see why - it's very refreshing, bright but doesn't have that nasty bitter grapefruit flavor that most people would find off-putting. Of course, if you love grapefruit, even better! But even for non-grapefruit goers I would say this drink is very enjoyable. MATCHA BROWN SUGAR Don't really see this flavor offered at places that do brown sugar, and gotta say I was pleased - solid boba, nice and sweet brown sugar, and a light matcha flavor to boot. Quality boba, would def drink from here if this was an option. NYC has a lot of boba options so it's hard to know where to go, but the good news is it's hard to go wrong with places like this.

The mango lemonade and coconut smoothie were refreshing and the boba are good texture and size. The interior is a good reprieve from the cold weather. The exterior definitely needs some sprucing. Beware of a few stairs; it's on the 2nd floor. It would be nicer if the staff is friendly.

[NYC BOBA TOUR STOP #44] *My other stops on the boba tour: https://www.yelp.com/collection/4dXTAnFqPHD1D8obaInTZw/nyc-boba-tour I've always thought that bubble tea spots should be made like coffee shops. I love a hole in the wall as much as the next person, but there's something about catching up with a friend over boba and actually having a place to sit down to do the catching up. Tbaar GETS that. Even though I've been to stores that have tables and such, Tbaar might be the first place to actually take into account the whole aesthetic of their store and incorporate their seating into it. The tables inside are circular and somewhat isolated so you feel like you're in a more intimate pod-like setting rather than in public gossipping to your friends but also the eavesdroppers at the table a foot away. We ordered (rating): Tbaar Milk Green Tea with Boba (2.5/5), Fresh Passionfruit Tea with Grass Jelly (3/5), Brown Sugar Bubble Matcha (3/5), Classic Bubble Milk Tea (3/5), Grapefruit & Yogurt I got their green milk tea since I love a good green milk tea, and I saw that it was on their top 10. The green tea flavor was decently strong, which I definitely appreciated, but as a whole it leaned watery rather than creamy. What brought this way down for me was the boba, which was both too soft (almost gummy in texture) for my preferences and tasteless. Soft seemed to be a trend for Tbaar because my sister also found both the grass jelly and the rainbow jellies to be too soft. We came in toward the end of the day, maybe around 8pm, so it's possible it was just because the toppings had been sitting out for a bit? If this is the case, I love that they're open later than boba places usually are (gotta satisfy the late night craving), but if the toppings don't stay fresh it's a bit of a let down. I'll circle back to the ambience for a second because I will say that my friends and I sat at their tables and caught up for an hour or more. They didn't mind at all, and it proved to be great in terms of vibes. In general I think this is one of those "if I want boba and it's nearby, it'll do." I'm interested in seeing if their food might be a better choice if I ever come back!

This is a nice, new boba shop that provided some much-needed refuge on a wintry rainy Sunday night when we had to be in the Times Square area for a few hours. They have the best environment of all the nearby Midtown West boba shops, I think - nice seating, digital ordering kiosks, and a working bathroom, though no WiFi as far as I could tell. Unfortunately, they were out of the oolong and four seasons teas before 8pm (they said they're open until 11, but would close earlier "around 10"). I got a large grapefruit yogurt drink with aloe, which was delicious (but I can't speak to the tapioca here). 25% sweet was plenty for me. Prices are admittedly pretty high (including tax and a small tip, almost $8 for the grapefruit drink, same for an oolong milk tea with boba). That's similar to other higher-end boba places in the area, but more on par with the "specialty" drinks. In this economy, I guess anything goes.

Walked here excited about the reviews I'd seen on Yelp. It's located on the 2nd floor of a cute little building. I ordered the Lychee Lime Green Tea with lychee jelly. 10/10. Customer service was polite. I grabbed a Strawberry Green Tea with Milk Foam to-go. I think I'll return every day while I'm here on vacay to try something new off the menu.

Ambiance was amazing but the drink wasnt. It tasted like the tea was burnt so the drink wasn't very enjoyable. The shop is so nice though, interior decorating is very pretty. Would come here again to try the food and for the seating, not for the drink though. Worker were nice, they brought my drink to me

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items.
