Have came here a couple times in the past. Its very close to famous mai lai wa bakery. This bubble tea place has nice drinks of different types. The service is good. I would stop by there if I am Chinatown and looking for a nice bubble drink. The place is small and there is no place to sit and drink so you have to take it to go.

I stopped by for the first time in a long time, and boy has this place changed. The stools are back at the counter. The space is still very small and tiny. But the biggest and most notable change for me are the prices. $9.50 for a 16oz (large) Taro Slush. It's October 2024 and I understand inflation has been off the charts lately, but this one just takes the cake. I was taken aback when the cashier told me the price. For slushes it's one size only. The price she gave me DID NOT match the price on their menu display in store which I took a picture of. The menu says a TARO SLUSH costs $7.75, and at the bottom, all toppings were $1 extra. So the price should've been $8.75 because I including tapioca pearls. Not sure where the additional 75 cents came from. I went through with buying my very expensive taro slush because I haven't had one in awhile and was craving it. And unsurprisingly, it didn't even taste good. So not only was the price outrageous, the product wasn't even worth it. I don't care much how costly drinks can get as long as they are delicious, alcoholic or not. But if you're going to charge me almost 10 bucks for a 16oz slushy bubble tea, then it better be creamy and sweet at the very least. This was neither and that's very disappointing. I always advocated for this place especially when Chinatown businesses were hit hard during the pandemic and after. But it's been many years now since then, and as much as I hate to do it, I can no longer recommend this shop due to the overly inflated prices. It's just way too expensive for mediocre taste. I can't justify spending hard earned money on drinks that aren't tasty enough to finish. Or a menu that they don't update but still put out. It's deceiving and I dislike that.

They have stainless steel straws at $5.95 for one for $10.00 for two. They are pinkish purple and come in a pouch. This location is very small and opens to the public. They never closed their doors. Apart from bubble teas and refreshers, they are known for their popcorn chicken and Taiwanese sausage. The popcorn chicken has different flavors that you can choose from (pepper salt, spicy, garlic, curry, and basil). Taiwanese sausage is very sweet and not like your basic hot dog sausage. Very juicy and fat. I always get bubble tea from here at 0% sugar and 0% ice and even though there is no sugar added, they still have some syrup inside the bubble tea that you have to mix with the straw so the milk tea can be a little sweet. You can definitely taste the black tea and the quality in this drink. The tapioca is sometimes chewy because of the cold drink but most of the time it is soft and fresh.

When I first moved to NYC I got ViVi's all the time at one of their other midtown locations. It was never my favorite, but it was always decent. Yesterday's bubble tea was a total let down. The tea was watered down and I got little to no boba in my "ViVi Boba Tea". Lots of ice too? Bubble tea normally isn't served with much ice (if any at all). They gave me a broken straw so it broke the top of my drink and it spilled everywhere. The staff was rude and annoyed that I spilled my drink. I asked for napkins and she gave me 2 to clean up a huge spill. Didn't come out and offer me help. When I asked for more napkins she only gave me one more. I left covered in bubble tea and had to leave the spill that I offered more than once to clean up. They acted like I was crazy and an inconvenience. A very upsetting experience. I won't be back to this location. Also, the floor needed to be mopped. Ambiance was mid quality due to cleanliness. 2/5 stars as of 1/4/23

I've tried a few drinks here and they were all pretty good. Nothing that I can't get elsewhere, but I appreciate their location and prices. The staff is friendly, and the drinks usually come out pretty quickly. I was also pleasantly surprised that they take credit card payments without a minimum charge. It's a grab and go place, since there is no seating. Overall it's a good place to grab a quick cold drink.

Cute, friendly, fast service. We went shopping in the district and stopped for boba tea. The place has cute drawing on the wall. It's mostly pink. The service was quick, everyone was nice and it was delicious. Thanks

If it weren't for my 2-month Transfiguration School Summer teaching job back in '08, I don't think I would've ever gotten hooked on Vivi's large Bubble Tea selection- especially the Lychee. Located on narrow Bayard St in Chinatown, Vivi also carries popcorn chicken and a couple of other savory items. Vivi is super tiny- but packed real good with bubble teas and slushies. Recently visited on a Sunday and was crowded. So crammed- my daughter actually placed the order then waited with me on the sidewalk. Even after all these years, it was only right to come where it all started for me. Prices are slightly high for the size I feel- but the perfectly cooked tapioca pearls is how I remembered them.

Coffee Jelly Boba and Vivi Signature Fruit Tea. Just...just, perfection. Places like this make me realize how much we're lacking in Charlotte. The great thing about getting both of these to share with someone is that the Coffee Jelly Boba is delicious, rich, and creamy with plenty of milk, yet the Vivi Signature Fruit tea is fresh and bright and vibrant that also acts as a palate cleanser so you can enjoy the Coffee Boba as if it were the first sip again! Charlotte, NC might have one or two Boba tea shops that I would say are noteworthy, but still are way out of NYC's league. I guess I gotta enjoy it while I'm here!

I'm not sure what I was expecting, having had really good boba in Asia. The drinks are definitely unique and very colorful. The shop is cute and great for taking instagram pics. There's also a simpsons character outside where you can pose with. I think the drinks here are more for instagram because of the brightness and color. But everything tastes like syrup and the tea quality was not good.

Large mango green tea with mango popping bubbles half sweet. Totally refreshing.

This was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of my last trip to NYC. Well, I don't know if you can really call it a trip to NYC, I was basically making my way from Port Authority to JFK on the hottest day of the summer (the day of the brownout in Brooklyn) and I was on a quest.... I needed to stop in Chinatown to pick up a wedding gift that I could ONLY GET in Chinatown (then had to take to Europe with me only to bring it back to Western NY... long story but really important to my review...) So, I'd finally schlepped all my stuff (rolly bag, backpack) down to Chinatown via the subway and walking. I purchased the aforementioned gift, and let's be honest, given the weather I was as sweaty as a... Nevermind. It was hot. I was heavy laden with bags. I had hours to kill before my evening flight. What is always the remedy for situations like this? Yes. Bubble tea. I pulled up my handy Yelp app, and made an executive decision to try out Vivi Bubble Tea which was basically around the corner. And boy was it the best decision. Managing to get a stool, I camped out in this tiny little tea shop and sipped my refreshing large mango tea with mango jelly. It was light, fresh, sweet (but not too sweet) and it calmed me down and made me feel like I could conquer the world. Or at least the rest of my journey to JFK. That Howard Beach train... I'll tell ya. Vivi was a happening spot. Tourists and locals both were in and out of th shop as I sat and people watched. If I were a local, I would come here. The staff was friendly and knew how to deal with a rush of people which seemed to happen quiet often. I will make it a point to return the next time I'm in town. mm. Bubble tea.

This is a small little shop off of one of the streets in Chinatown, New York. The staff here seems friendly but they need to smile a bit more and be more outgoing. Pepper salt popcorn chicken: It is cooked perfectly all the way and has the pepper salt taste to it. It makes you really thirsty though so that's how they get you to get a drink. Peach Pulp Jade: The peach pulp jade is very delicious in every way. It has the peach pulp and pieces of the peach inside of the drink. It also has different stuff inside but I am not sure what it is. Overall: This bubble tea is very good for a place in Chinatown, New York. I might have to stop by here again when I come to New York next time.

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items. Takeout menus are available for grabs. Loyalty card is available which also serve as business card where the back is printed in gold foil.
