Was given 2 types - the baguette and one of the rustic loafs. Was also told I could request more bread if I wanted to. The eggs were poached perfectly, and paired so well with everything else on the plate. The bread tasted very good on its own, with butter, or to soak up all that yogurt, egg and spices on the plate. This ended up being a very substantive breakfast. I ended up taking 2 half loaves home with me after the meal! read more

I came here with my fiancé after a slow Saturday morning and a lot of indecision about where to eat. I stumbled across this place online purely by chance while looking up places to eat near a store we wanted to visit in Spring St. I am so beyond happy we found Crispy Heaven! We walked in around 3pm and got a table immediately. The hostess who welcomed us (who I later discovered is the baker herself!!) was so nice and got us seated quickly. This place was a bit bigger than I expected, and has a lot of seating so the space is tight but makes it feel cozy. The decor is very simple, but feels clean, and reminded us of a cafe in Eastern Europe. Service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive of us, making sure we had everything we needed but without making us feel rushed. We started off by ordering 2 cappuccinos which were so foamy, delicious, and had cute art! Now for the food: - Salmon plate: absolutely amazing breakfast plate! Sometimes I am hesitant to buy dishes like this at restaurants since it feels like ingredients I could put together at home for cheaper, but this completely blew me away. The scrambled eggs tasted fresh and had a little bit of cheese in them, giving them the perfect hint of salt without needing extra seasoning. The plate came with two types of bread: one was a roll that was rustic, had a very nice crispy crust but doughy interior (reminded me of a bagel but a bit more airy), as well as rye bread that had so many seeds and tasted sooo hearty-- it reminded me so much of the food I had when traveling in Denmark and Norway. The smoked salmon was super high quality, perfectly tender, cold, and also had the right level of salt. The plate also came with this decadent cream cheese, capers, dill, some delicious, natural butter, and a refreshing tangy salad which helped balance the other elements. The ingredients were just so phenomenal and the portion size was quite generous for the price. I already want to come back for this! - Turkish eggs: my fiancé ordered this and I tried some of it and it was absolutely delicious too! The egg were cooked to perfection which a nice silky runny yolk which paired nicely with the garlic yogurt. The spices were absolutely on point, really striking the balance between "boldness" but without overpowering any of the other ingredients. Very enjoyable flavor and texture profiles! This also came with a side of some bread which my fiancé really enjoyed and was perfect to soak up all the sauce, as well as some butter. - Ricotta pancakes: another hit! 4 generously sized pancakes with this delicious sweet/tangy blueberry compote, and syrup. These were a bit on the cakier, less buttery side, but I actually really enjoyed them since they tasted very homemade and healthy somehow.!They are not too decadent so they are absolutely perfect sweet treat with the rest of the food we got here. Admittedly, we were pretty full at the end of this meal but left very happy. I absolutely loved my experience here and think I may have found a new favorite breakfast spot in the city!! The quality of all their food is unmatched, the vibes are very European (not in an obnoxious way), and the bread is actually amazing-- we bought a baguette to take home. Made a reservation here for brunch with three friends on a Friday morning, and they had plenty of availability! The vibe is casual and the interior is cozy. The service is also warm and prompt. I ordered the Turkish eggs for breakfast, which came with dill, yogurt, two poached eggs, and chili crisp. The portion size was adequate, not too big or too small, and the food was tasty. Note that the Turkish eggs are mostly reminiscent of a cold (though delicious) dip, which I was happy about, since it gave me an excuse to eat more of Crispy Heaven's bread, but it may have felt a bit less substantive if you ate it by itself. I think the real star of the show here is the bread. All of the dishes came with sliced baguettes, and that bread is absolutely divine: fresh, flaky and crispy on the outside, and airy and soft on the inside. Unfortunately walking in on a weekend can be a bit tough (we were quoted a 30-45m wait at 2pm which I had hoped would've died down by then) but they do offer takeout and there's a small park across the restaurant with ample benches to chow down on. We ordered the short rib which comes with a cup of consommé which was a nice touch, the burrata, and the egg salad baguette sandwiches. The former two outshine the egg salad but gosh the baguette itself is to die for - deliciously crunchy with the perfect amount of chew. Stopped at Crispy Heaven Bakery for the first time and had a really pleasant experience. The service was nice, and the bakery was clean and inviting, which made for a great first impression. My wife ordered the bread board with their house-made butter and strawberry jam, and I tried the bacon roll along with a side of sausage (after noticing a few people around me specifically asking for it). The bread board was a great mix of breads but definitely on the larger side--easily enough for three people. All the bread was good, but my wife's favorite was the cinnamon raisin, and the strawberry jam was definitely a hit. The bacon roll had great texture and flavor, but it was a bit too rich for me--maybe a little heavy on the butter. We definitely did mess up a little bit, all our food ended up coming and we got so much bread and so much of the bread was hard. Bread was delicious, but we should have gotten more variety. Our jaws at the end were dying. We got the grass fed short rib, mortadella and Gouda, and burrata. I like it, I like it a lot. No idea why that quote popped in my head but it's applicable to this charming restaurant. One quick walk and you'll breeze right past this joint unless their cart or baked goods caught your eye. Longtime friends are able to catch up on an idle Tuesday while noshing good bread and sipping coffee. The staff didn't come over to bother us if we needed the check even though our tabletop was almost devoid of anything digestible which is such an A+. Their bread and butter combo is phenomenal. The stew is flavorful with tender carrots and spuds, but the meat did get stuck in between our teeth and we had to strategically remove it without looking crass. The pancakes were not as fluffy as I had hoped for but the blueberry sauce added a nice touch to the dish. It did deliver on the lemon flavor though, so that was definiteyly worth the visit. Being a baguette fanatic, I came here specifically to try out their baguette on a hot and humid NYC afternoon. Thankfully they had one of the last few left -- spared from making sandies for those dining in. Taking it home I found the baguette to be precisely what I want in a baguette -- which is a lighter exterior with a delicate crunch, great for spreading whatever you want on it once sliced -- and baked on a hot and humid day too, difficult to accomplish. I did inquire whether they made any softer breads such as a pain de mie -- for those older folks with jaw problems... and the owner was very apologetic for not having the same. NOT to worry since the baguette (which came highly ranked as one of NYC's best) more than made up for it. It's been a while since we've enjoyed breakfast at Crispy Heaven. We went to the old location, they've just moved to their new one on Lafayette just south of Spring St. This place is much brighter and has a nice bar that you can sit at. They haven't received their liquor license yet, but the owner told us that when they do they'll be open for dinner. The soul of Crispy Heaven is the bread. The owner is from the Czech Republic and she's brought many of her family recipes. The sandwiches are just the best. My wife had a bacon roll with scrambled egg inside. The bacon is baked into the bread. I ordered the brioche French toast. Such incredible bread, so totally delicious. And there's a nice amount of real maple syrup. We were hungry and also ordered a Czech bread with scrambled eggs. Again, amazing bread and really well prepared eggs. They were fluffy and light and really fresh. Our coffee was delicious. I had a black coffee that was flavorful, strong enough and not bitter. My wife really loved her latte. The cream on top was well whipped. Our server Dasha, was so patient and helpful. The owner is charming and her intention is to treat each customer as a friend. I really appreciate how wonderful I felt during our meal and the memory stays with me. read more

Visited this first spot due to popularity on social media and was very pleased with the experience. My friend and I realized we'd been in the locale before when it was previously a Thai restaurant. We visited for brunch and found the small space to still feel comfortable as most tables indoors were suited for 2fers. But the 3 larger tables also seemed to have ample space. Service was pretty consistent and frequent which was nice as we didn't feel forgotten. We ordered the salmon plate, smaller bread plate, side of bacon and half burrata, iced coffee and an Arnold Palmer. Overall, our food was delicious and plentiful! First time I came it was so great!! The owner is so nice and the food is so good. One of my new favorite breakfast/brunch spots. Definitely make a reservation if you're coming on the weekend. It's a small cute place but gets very crowded - not much room to move around or walk. The most recent time we came the waitress was kinda rude. I'm not sure what we did but at one point she just switched on us. Their coffee is also pretty burnt so if you like that taste it's for you, and if you don't, well I'd recommend another drink. Had early brunch there Sat 12/6. 8am. Pretty good... We were 3 people & had the smaller bread sampler. This size was plenty for 3 people. The breads, jam, & butter were all exceptional, only issue here was some of the breads were quite cold which is weird as they had just opened. Bagette was really great. We also had some acme salmon which went great with the bread. My son had the brioche french toast & it looked great & he was very happy. Daughter & I split the lemon ricotta pancakes & they were decent, nothing to write home about. The food was great and the portions were very generous. We had the Shrimp in Lobster Sauce appetizer, the Octopus, the Burger and the Spicy tacos. The spicy tacos were good, but quite spicy and they lacked extra fixins, but that's really my only criticism. The burger was great and the Shrimp appetizer was basically a large bowl of Lobster Bisque with some toasted bread for dipping and 4 whole head-on, shell-on shrimp. It was a really large serving for an appetizer. Honestly if you just had it with the extra bread they serve with the table, it's enough for an entree for one person. They didn't have any fresh baguettes or sandwiches on their dinner menu, so we missed out on that, but otherwise the food was solid. read more

I cannot recommend Crispy Heaven Bakery enough - as a sandwich connoisseur, this doesn't come easily. It has been on my list for quite some time, and finally my partner and I found the opportunity to stop by and grab some brunch. It is a cute and cozy bakery, with a few tables inside and outside seating as well. The service was very friendly and efficient as well - making sure we had plenty of water (was a hot day). It definitely felt like some very special family recipes they use as well. Food-wise we decided to go with the egg cheese and bacon roll and the mortadella and Gouda on a half baguette (with their house made butter). It may have been one of the best BEC variations I've ever had - and the bacon was baked into the roll (which was easy to pull apart too). Absolutely delicious. And the baguette was divine (definitely felt like I was in crispy heaven) - I am sure all of their sandwiches are tasty, but I'm a sucker for some good mortadella so had to try that first. Also, the sandwiches are HUGE. I mean like I couldn't even finish mine (and not because I didn't like it).
