I came to Edith's to try their sandwiches after hearing such great things about their items! I was especially curious about their Sephardi Wrap and Tuna Melt, so that is what we ordered. The shop is diner styled where you order at the front and find a free seat to eat at. Service was incredibly kind and they also checked in on us too! I think the food just was not to my flavor unfortunately. The bread on the tuna melt was way too buttery for me, and the tuna + cheese was cold. Is that standard? I'm not super familiar with other tuna melts, but I was surprised. I do like how the tuna salad was heavy on tuna and lower on mayo though! Thank god Edith's opened up in WV which is much much closer to me than their original Brooklyn location. I've been wanting to try them for a long time and I love a culturally inspired breakfast-heavy menu. I came specifically for their breakfast sandwich on the Sephardi Breakfast Wrap served on malawach bread which is similar to roti in some ways, like a flaky, rich flatbread, and comes with these fluffy eggs and Middle Eastern spices seasoned chicken sausage (love chicken sausage) and cheese and it was just delightful and had a nice heat running throughout it. Of course had to get the Tahini Cold Brew Slush which was nice and had a subtle but not overpowering savory nutty sweetness which complemented well with the bitter cold brew, all in a finely slushy texture that was such a delight. I was in the city last week, and finally got my chance to try Edith's for the first time - I got the Rueben, the tuna melt, latke tots (with every dipping sauce of course) and the tahini cold brew coffee slush (in the 20 something degree weather mind you!). Everything was perfect, but the Rueben and the cold brew coffee slush stood out as excellent! TLDR: Small interior but a hearty meal for a good price. But you can skip the Tahini Latte Ordered: Pastrami on Rye 4.5/5 - So because my partner in crime did not know what to do about sauerkraut, we did in fact get in on the side (I had some to accompany my sandwich). With that I do think that it is an essential. With that said this was probably the best pastrami on rye i've ever had?? They've done this thing where they completely reinvented the classical sandwich. For starters the bread is toasted. My company caters one lunch a week, and this week's treat was Edith's. Pretty beast. They were all cut in halves, which was clutch as I could try a couple. Nothing wrong with trying everything on the menu, word to Charlie Sheen. I went with a half pastrami and a half turkey sandwich. Pastrami was solid, but not touching Katz. I've never had a pastrami sandwich comparable to the OG. Turkey one was delectable though. If I had to do it over again, I would have just done a whole turkey sandwich. I ordered the BECL, and the cashier suggested getting it on the wrap instead of a bagel, so I went with that recommendation. Not sure if that was the best choice, but that's what I ended up with. I also ordered a side of latkes (tokas), which I was really excited to try. Unfortunately, the food was pretty mid overall. The sandwich took about 25 minutes to come out and was fairly greasy. The wrap itself didn't have much flavor, and while there was a good amount of bacon (which was decent), the sandwich as a whole didn't really stand out. The dipping sauce definitely helped, but it wasn't enough to elevate it. The latkes were dry and somewhat flavorless, and the cheese sauce got cold and hardened after about 10 minutes, which made them even less enjoyable. The dryness really did it for me, the texture, the taste, everything was dry. I spent $30 on the 2 items. Overall, I really wanted to love this spot, but I didn't leave feeling like I'd be back. Sandwich shop! Went to their West Village location (they have another in Brooklyn) cause I was in the mood for a sandwich. It's a Jewish style sandwich counter, but like modern and chic vibes. Interior is retro and super cute, with counter/bar style seats and one or two tables; can fill up easily if you come during the weekend -- but when the weather is warm you can just pop a squat on the stairs of the brownstones nearby (it's a cute area) or hop a few blocks down to the piers. Sandwiches are good, fresh, and pretty decently sized. Also, I saw their coffee tahini slushie online, and needed to get it since I'm a frozen coffee feind; it was yummy and refreshing (not too sweet). I came again for their brekkie sando! Perfectly popable, the cheese is a must! They are crunchy but soft on the inside like a good latke should be. The breakfast sandwich was also very good. As for the tahini chicken crunch wrap I would say I enjoyed it BUT have a major bone to pick with the embarrassing ratio of chicken. I split the sandwich with a friend and she mentioned not having a lot of bites of chicken. I counted. I had 1 maybe 2 max bites of chicken. Don't call it a chicken sandwich if that's the ratio. An Edith's in west village! Came here for lunch and got a brekkie bagel and split the coffee slushie and a slice of cinnamon babka with a friend. The babka is to die for. So good and probably some of the best I've ever had. The slushie was definitely a fun treat and I would definitely have it more often in the summer. Overall a great sandwich. To see what a Chicago-style everything bagel was like, I ordered a plain one. It's a bit spicier. An okay bagel, too expensive though at $2.75. You're definitely paying more here than elsewhere, even the breakfast sandwiches start at $13. This isn't somewhere I can afford to go regularly! I was able to dine in with my food. The big difference here is there is now seating available, unlike just the few chairs out front at the original Williamsburg location.
