    Tuna melt
    Alli B.

My fave tuna melt from LA came to NY!! But I think Edith's in NYC is still my fave. Had their breakfast burrito and was so surprised by how delicious it was cuz I'd had it in LA and it was way better here!!! The bacon was perfectly smoky and the eggs were sooo fluffy. Been twice already. So dang good.

TBH the breakfast burrito really is incredible (got it without the sauces btw)! So crunchy, cheesy, just everything you could want and more. I had it once dining in & once delivered, and will say that the delivery didn't have the same magic as my IRL experience. Beware that if your total table tab is $50+, there's a service charge of 20% (even though you seat yourself). Surprisingly has a very short line at 11:30 on a Sunday, but grew pretty long by the time we left at 12:30

I've always wanted to try this spot in LA but was never able to make it, so was so excited to hear when they opened a NYC location! You order at the counter before finding a seat and on a Saturday late morning, there was not much of a line and it was pretty easy to find a table. Staff is also super nice! The atmosphere is definitely lively and on the louder side though. We of course had to try all the most popular dishes. Here's what I thought: - Breakfast burrito (4.5/5): not the best breakfast burrito I tried before but I'm pretty picky. This was still really darn good. Not really a bacon fan so subbed for the turkey sausage which was very juicy and delicious. Eggs were also perfectly soft scrambled, the hash browns added the perfect crisp without being too much, and the tortilla was soft and chewy! Honestly did not feel too heavy at all. - Banana pancakes (5/5): if you get one thing, it MUST be this. These pancakes were probably my favorite I ever had at a restaurant- perfectly fluffy, crisp on the edges and moist on the inside, and surprisingly light. There were also moist chunks of banana scattered throughout -- those were my favorite bites. - Tuna melt (3.5/5): just personal preference but I'm not the hugest fan of tuna and it was a bit room temp (I wish it was served warm). The truffle flavor was also present but wish it was a bit stronger. The sourdough bread was absolutely delicious though -- it was crispy, chewy, and everything I wanted from a sandwich bread Overall great ambiance to grab brunch and catch up with a friend! Also felt like a really well balanced meal despite how much we ordered, since everything was pretty fresh and not really heavy or greasy.

Is it worth waiting in line for again? No. But without a line, I would 100% go again. The line dies down around 3pm on a weekend and moves faster with more tables available around then. There's a lot more seating than expected inside but it's first come first serve so can be tough especially if it's easier in the morning on a weekend. My friends and I waited in line and even though we got there around 1ish, they had unfortunately already run out of bananas but they were able to make blueberry pancakes instead of their traditional banana and they were still delicious and are gf!! We also got the breakfast burrito which was so so yummy, the sauce that they give on the side really elevates it too - highly reccomend and would definitely be back later in the day to try other items.

I was told the breakfast burrito is what this place is known for so I got that as well as the BTA. They both cost $18 but the portion size for the BTA was larger. I found the burrito to be way too small for the price. I would usually split a burrito but this portion was too small to share. It was good but I wouldn't go back for it. I preferred the BTA on sourdough and I like that they brought 3 options for hot sauce.

I'm going to go ahead and start with the bad, which was the line. I really dislike waiting over an hour to get breakfast. I would probably give less stars if it weren't for the fact that this place is new and it's going viral so that's likely why there was such a long line. I should also note that after you are on the line, you go inside and the tables are first come first serve basis, so you may wait on line and actually not have a seat and have to take it to go. Luckily that wasn't the case for me. Now on to the food, I will say the gluten-free pancakes and waffles were beyond delicious. The pancakes had a great crisp to them and the banana flavor was perfectly balanced. The waffles were so fluffy and airy that my friend who isn't gluten-free was shocked by how good they were. The rest of the items were your standard breakfast items, but well made. The place has more seating than you would expect from the outside. They do have a lot of staff that are walking around and cleaning up and turning the tables over quickly. You also didn't have to wait long for the food once you were seated. I probably wouldn't go back for a while or until the hype dies down.

((4.5 stars)) Sunny…read moreand Annie's is very much a 24/7 neighborhood gem of a corner store and deli. it's packed with packaged foods--candy, chips, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, beer, and a lot more plus the deli counter serves ups an endless list of creative sandwiches. i am not going to say this place is cramped but it kinda is. for example, if people stand in the wrong areas of the store, it will cause a complete standstill of a traffic jam in the store. my advice: order from the deli (and stand somewhere people aren't trying to get to) or grab whatever you need, pay, and leave. this place is not a place to linger. keep it moving. anyway, the obvious draw of Sunny & Annie's is the endless list of sandwiches that are handwritten cards that are stuck outside glass of the deli counter. there is literally something for the pickiest eaters--from hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, wraps, and more. some sandwiches are named celebrities, politicians, etc. i have ordered a bunch of different sandwiches and have not made it through much of the menu. you can also create your own Frankenstein monster of a sandwich. while the sandwiches are a big part of the draw, the insane amount of snack foods crammed into the store is quite remarkable from the large stand of Doritos, Takis, Cheetos and other popular branded snack foods in the front to the separate stand of Wise snacks to an entire back corner of the store filled with all kinds of chips, popcorn, etc. imo, Sunny's has the freshest-tasting Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. i know an insane take consider it's a packaged popcorn snack from a megacorp (PepsiCo), but i'll die on this hill. maybe it's cause Sunny's sells a lot of Smartfood popcorn so it gets refreshed often, maybe they have a secret in/pipelinbe from the factory, or it's just magic/alchemy. i don't know, but the Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn never tastes stale-ish like it does at grocery stores, the bags never feel deflated because they have been on shelf long, and the popcorn never has that soft mouthy feel but still has the crunch to it. maybe it's just me, but Sunny's serves a great list of sandwiches...AND the freshest Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. beyond the snacks, the service from the deli to cashier is upbeat and friendly. in all seriousness, Sunny and Annie's is an Avenue B institution at this point and remains a charming family-owned store--and is NOT a sterile modern clone of a neighborhood business.

Today, I got a PISILLO panini with ciabatta bread and it was so damn big! I had half of it for lunch and the other half will be saved for my dinner! This panini was just too long and big. I had to open my mouth really wide to take bites out of the big panini and it was annoying. It tasted good though! I love the balsamic dressing, arugula, tomatoes, and bufula mozz cheese the most out of the whole sandwich! The dressing made it really good and soften the ciabatta bread for easier chewing. My poor mouth and teeth! The whole panini cost $22.21 including tax in cash. There was an atm machine by the entrance in case you don't have cash. The whole place was very cozy and tight knit chairs and tables on both sides of the restaurant. The staff was very fast and I got my panini in not time. I did not have to wait that long. I was just amazed at the size of the ciabatta bread. They had many different types of bread that I can try next time like the focaccia, sfilatino, and semolina bread that looked really good behind the display glass. They got 35 different types of panini sandwiches for you to choose from. Most of them contain meat and there are some vegetarian options that are not so pricey. I will try those next time!

They call it the "Ross sandwich" as a homage to the Friends tv show where one episode features a Thanksgiving sandwich Monica had made for Ross that got eaten by someone else. Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
