I walked by Smor and it looked enticing so I stopped in. All table inside and outside were taken which I thought had to be a great sign. The shop itself is super cute with friendly staff. I ordered a cookie and a cinnamon bun to go. Maybe I chose incorrectly, but the chocolate chunk cookie was bad. It had a burnt taste and overall unpleasant, spongy texture/ mouthfeel. It was quite disappointing for the price ($4). The cinnamon bun was very soft and tasty ($4.75).

Went to Iceland last year and had there famous hotdogs. When I came back, I've been searching for something close to that. The danish dog here is the closest thing to that. The crispy onions and the sauce make this one of the best hotdogs I've tried before.

This is such a cute little spot in EV. The prices are reasonable and the staff was very kind. We immediately loved the range of non-alcoholic drinks - there was something for every taste. I loved the lemon, lime and bitters drink! Standouts for food were the whipped ricotta and the beans in broth. Super flavorful and comforting. Everything came in big portions which was a plus, so it was easy to share and take leftovers. I'd love to come back and try the cafe portion of the restaurant.

This place has been on my list for a while now. The hangover sandwich was so good!!! I definitely need to come back for this!

Came here on a Saturday without a res, ended up waiting ~1 hour. Probably wouldn't go back unless I had a res! I got the everything plate, which was a good assortment. I thought the rye bread was a tad dry, but it was good paired with the other items. We also got the ricotta toast, which was good but wish the jam was a tad sweeter!

Really cute Scandinavian restaurant! Went here for brunch and was able to try a bunch of their dishes. My favorite was the white fish salad. It was citrusy and refreshing My only complaint is that the searing is super tight. I was sitting in a booth and it could barely fit three people. The seating outside is also quite crammed and some don't have shaded umbrellas to cover you during your meal so keep that in mind if that's something important to you!

The food at Smor is consistently tasty and well-executed, and there are a ton of nutritional choices on the menu. I have enjoyed the grain bowl with soft boiled egg, the big breakfast, and the chicken salad sandwich. The cardamom bun is one of the best in the city. The service is friendly, but they are consistently slow about refilling water. I have never gone to Smor without needing to ask for a water refill after a long period of waiting. Avoid the coffee, but the matcha latte and lemonades are good. Definitely make a reservation to avoid a wait on the weekends.

Awesome pastry selection. Saffron bun was so unique it got us questioning if we've ever had saffron on its own before! Loooved how fluffy the eggs in the bec were especially with the tarragon aioli smothered on the bottom brioche bun. French fries also deliciously crispy! with a huge glob of sauce that should've been placed on the side instead imo. Danish hot dog was better than american hot dogs imo the mustard like sauce with the fried onion were the ingredients to switch things up

EVERYTHING BOWL, SMOKED SALMON SMRREBRD, SMASHED POTATOES

Had a lovely brunch at Smør. The everything bowl was everything I could want in a brunch plate! I do wish it had more smoked salmon though--felt limited compared to the smorrebrod. The potatoes were perfectly crispy and seasoned. Only downsides are the menu does not have espresso beverages (you have to go next door and order separately, and there's often a long line) and the inside seating is very limited and cramped. Eating outside is the way to go, so probably not ideal for colder weather days. Food is great though so would probably try coming again on sunny, non-peak days!

I really liked the food I got here. My friend and I came here and put our names down for a table. We waited for 30-45 mins. We were seated outside and shared a table with a different group. We got: - chicken club sandwich: kinda messy to eat but super good - sweet potato fries: these are my favorite kind of fries!!

    HANGOVER SANDWICH
    Joriene M.

Hangover Sandwich ($14) - I was blown away by how good this sandwich was. The remoulade and tarragon aioli were clearly the highlights because of how flavorful they were. I'm also not the biggest fan of pickles but theirs were perfect!

    EVERYTHING BOWL
    Tasnia S.

Smor the restaurant was alright, nothing too spectacular, but also not terrible. I got the everything salad, and it was alright. The everything salad had avocado, salmon, lettuce, bread, and egg. Nothing really stood out about the salad, and it didn't have too much flavor to it, or a unique taste to it. It was a regular salad, just ok. The space was pretty small, but had a modern Nordic ambience to it. It's best to RSVP before hand, because it can get crowded and busy at night. The service was alright, nothing extraordinary or terrible. The food came out pretty quickly and the price was alright/average. I prefer SMOR the bakery, a bit more, since it had more variety on the items that it served or had. Price:$20 Rating: 6.5/7

There was never more than one other group with us and we were there from 6:30-8:30PMish on a Saturday night. As they don't have princess cakes on the weekend, we called ahead to see if we could bring our own but it would be a $14 fee PER PERSON which I think is ridiculous. For the starters - we got the free bread and butter which was decent, and I got one of their specialty spritz's which didn't seem very alcoholic. We shared everything else family style - Frankfurter sausage potato wrap (7/10) good but probably wouldn't order again Swedish meatballs (8/10) I really liked the potato/gravy/lingonberry combo! The meatballs tasted good but were so soft so it was a little off putting to me Smorgasbord plate (8/10) the Jannsson's temptation was SO GOOD, pretty much a thinly sliced potato salad with little crunchy bits on top Toast skagen (10/10) my favorite item! It was so refreshing I wish we had more of that!

Looking at their displays, they had an amazing selection of salmon, herring, cod, pickled beets, tomatoes and more. We decided to try their "Lock, Stock+Barrel" sample of 4 different salmon w/ condiments, pickles, raspberries and crackers. You can get a choice of 3-5. Our choices were their Artisanal smoked, Pastrami Cured smoked, Togarashi smoked, and Norwegian smoked. The condiments were a mustard and dill sauce. The salmon was melt in your mouth good! So good, you didn't need the sauces. We did taste both and liked the mustard. Didn't use much of it though. The winner was the Norwegian smoked for both of us and for me, the Togarashi and Pastrami Cured were tied at 2nd. The two people behind the counter were great! Very helpful and made our experience sitting at the counter a fun time! I will be coming here anytime I crave smoked salmon!

My husband and I have been feeling a bit of Europe withdrawal lately, and Aska absolutely hit the spot. The ambiance, the precision, and the thoughtful pacing all brought us right back to the kind of refined dining experiences we've missed. The tasting menu was comprehensive and beautifully curated. Each course felt intentional and distinctive, yet the progression never felt overwhelming. While the meal wasn't rushed, it also didn't drag on endlessly -- the pacing struck that perfect balance, allowing us to savor each dish without fatigue. You'll enjoy the minimalistic chic decor, the open kitchen, the excellent service, and of course the food. Let's talk about that last part since you're going to spend a pretty penny if you go here. Like all tasting menus, there will be some variance although certainly there are some dishes that often are the "star" of the proverbial show. I'm not going to mention everything, but here is what stood out: Sea Oak: This is the first item we received, and it kind of looks like a colorful edible twig. There were purple and yellow hues and true to its name it tasted like a fresh dip in the sea. Apparently, they use algae and blue mussels to make this dish. It's fun and creative and a great start to your meal. Caviar: This one looked like a dark cupcake with the base made from kingfish and eel while the top was absolutely overflowing in what was clearly a super high end caviar (certainly memorable at least to me). This was a stunning visual with extraordinary taste. Claw: This dish looks nothing like a claw. Instead, rounded wheels resembling lotus root are flavored with rose and berry. Gently stuffed inside you will find langoustine claw meat. This had really strong Indian flavors and was highly enjoyable. Custard: This was like the Nordic version of chawanmushi except this savory custard was dollops of trout roe, seaweed, and exhibits a strong seafood broth flavor. Hake: This was the best preparation I've ever had of the fish. The sauce is somewhat indescribable to me, and yet what really stood out is the absolute perfect texture of the fish. The restaurant is fairly well know for their hake and it's easy to see why. Quail and Venison: Both of these dishes were well prepared meats that actually served as perfect boats for the incredible mushrooms accompanying both meats. After eating this dish, I could see why Aska is confident enough to boast a full vegetarian tasting menu. Those mushrooms were among the best items of this entire meal. Pear: I really hope they keep this on because this light pear dish accented with cardamom and copious amounts of butter was an absolute delight. Again, the dish exhibited relatively strong Indian flavors and may have been my favorite dish of the entire evening. Why not five stars? At this price point, I would expect every dish to hit and there were a couple that just didn't for me (not too many but a couple). It was probably a bit too seafood heavy for me and I think I prefer omakase if I'm going that route. I will say that the tasting menu, the service, and atmosphere are all wonderful and a worthy overall experience. I'm definitely glad I was able to visit.
