Don't. Gross. Waste of money and time. The chicken is dry and tasteless. Not juicy and flavourful shawarma chicken you'd expect from a libanese resturant. read more

Salma in NYC was somewhere I was excited to try, and I'm so happy to write about how much I enjoyed it. The decor makes it feel like you're dining in someone's home, which immediately sets a cozy, welcoming tone. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. The vibe was very jovial when we went, with nearly every table enjoying wine [but it's important to note that Salma is BYOB, so don't expect to see alcohol on the menu]. We started with the muhammara, which was absolutely incredible. The pita wasn't anything special, but it didn't matter at all; it was simply a vehicle to get more muhammara into my mouth, which I was more than happy with. For mains, we ordered the filet mignon sandwich, the kafta kabob sandwich, and a side of seasoned fries, and everything was delicious. Overall, a wonderful, chill dining experience with great food and an inviting atmosphere. Absolutely recommend if you're in the area, and if you're not, I recommend anyway! read more

So So good- cute little spot (not huge venue but comfy). Service was great and BYOB which is a nice option. Went with a couple friends and able to share dishes which was perfect- ended up getting a couple platters (chick and steak) along with dips (tziki and hummus). Everything so good and great atmosphere- recommend read more

Ordered delivery on Uber eats the chicken platter was buy one get one and the lamb sandwich was buy one get one. The lamb didnt come and the chicken was so salty it was inedible the rice that came with it had no flavor. The garlic sauce was chunky and very salty too. It seems like someone made a mistake and just said send it for delivery it was terrible and wouldn't recommend. read more

Just left very disappointed. My partner and I ordered the hummus, falafel sandwich, and lamb shawarma platter. The hummus was too thin and topped extra oil which did not seem like quality oil. The pita was super thin and while that may be a preference rather than an issue, just figured I'd put it out there. The falafel balls were very good flavor wise but the sandwich was on the small side. Not much fresh veggies included. The lamb shawarma was way too oily. I've never had such oily shawarma before (photo of the plate after I took all the lamb off). Based on other pictures it seems that it comes with labneh rather than the sauce I received and yellow rice (I got white rice). It also looks like it comes with more veggies than I received. Service was also not great. Super disappointed overall and wanted to share since this spot seems to have great reviews. read more

I started with the kebbeh which was 3 meat and bulgur shells stuffed with a meat filling and a white dipping sauce. For my main dish I had the lamb shawarma platter with rice. The food was very good. The service was good. The ambience was very cute. I would definitely this restaurant for Lebanese and it's BYOB. read more

Went for a cute solo lunch and grabbed the Kafta Kebab. It was fine, nothing crazy. Left about a 20% tip, but later noticed they rounded my credit card charge up to the next dollar amount after the tip (which added almost a full dollar). It's not about the money, it's the principle--I signed off on one total, but they decided to charge a higher one. left a bad taste in my mouth, not sure I'd go back. read more

Nice and cozy ambiance. We came as a party of 4 and took advantage of their byob. It was so nice that we were able to bring in a few bottles of wine! We did the mixed appetizer platter and then 2 of the mixed grill platter. The portions were pretty good. My main complaint is that it felt a bit... repetitive? I was hoping that by ordering the mixed app and platter that we would be getting a variety of flavors, but honestly, the range was really limited. The apps just tasted fried. Meat tasted grilled. It fell a bit flat for me. read more

Wow, my girlfriend and I love Lebanese food. I was anxious to try the Kafta Kebab plate. $29.00 plate, and it will fill your appetite good. Portions are big, which is good for the price you have to pay. Food is good, and I like the menu options. Next time I want to try other plates of food. Tabouli Is good too. Service was great. Had a wonderful experience here and I'm actually surprised it's not busier than it is. My husband and I shared everything for this visit. Started out with Tabbouleh and eggplant dip, then lentil soup, then lamb kebabs. To drink we had the mint lemonade which came out as a chunky iced slushy. Although really good if they could figure out to get that ice blended better it would have been perfect. It was all fresh and flavorful. If I were to not order one item it would have been the lentil soup. This came puréed. Mild in flavor. Personally I would have blended half the batch and left the other half of it with whole lentils to add texture. Pita came out nice and hot. Interestingly it crisped up once it was cold. Overall a 4 stars from me. read more

What a lovely Lebanese spot! We went for Valentine's Day and the ambiance was perfect for that. They had a set menu option for Valentine's Day which we went for. The option was quite expansive and included diverse appetizers, a choice of the main, and a dessert. We went with the mixed dips, vine leaves, kibbeh, and cheese rolls for the appetizer. For the main, we got the mixed grill with the fries, and for dessert, we had the knafeh with the kaak. The meal was delicious, specially the kibbeh and mixed grill. The only appetizer item that was off was the hummus which tasted like it was made of canned hummus. Still, the experience overall was a 5/5 for me and I'd definitely be back! read more

So yummy! Our waiter was very helpful and friendly, which I really appreciated. The food was really authentic. My only complaints was the pita was a little dry and cold, and my shawarma could've used a little more flavor. Other than that, delicious! Dropped by on a Saturday with a friend around 7pm for my birthday. It was fairly packed but we were able to snag an outdoor table - good thing it was a nice day out! I got the kafta kebab platter which came with three gigantic pieces of meet on some pita, a grilled tomato, white sauce (tzatziki?), and a bowl of yellow rice. The kafta kebab was so flavorful and delicious! They definitely give you more than enough, though I wish they gave a bit more rice to eat with it. The sauce is also a must to eat it with! Service was great. Our waitresses checked up on us frequently and were very friendly. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a solid Lebanese place! read more

I just one of the best Kebab wraps I've ever had Ordered the Shish Tawouk (chicken breast cubes) wrap and it was amazing! The spices are right on, and the extras, including fries to my surprise, worked perfectly. I used to think adding fries to a wrap was a gimmick, but it can clearly be done right. The only thing I could say could be improved is using chicken thighs instead of the breast, which can be a bit dry. read more

Delicious Lebanese food in the East Village. The restaurant is small inside and the decor is basic, but the service and food are excellent. The portions are generous (we took food home with us!) and my husband who grew up in the Middle East praised the authentic flavors. This is my favorite restaurant in all of New York. I bring everyone I know here because the food is fantastic, everyone who works here is lovely and wonderful to talk to, and you can get a great meal (with leftovers!) without breaking the bank. The mujadara and eggplant moutabal are a must and their falafel is some of the best in the City. I first came here for a birthday party back in 2022 and come back whenever I get the chance. Friends suggested stopping by this place on a Sunday afternoon. I admittedly am not a huge Mediterranean food fan, but others in the group wanted to try so I thought, why not? One of the people in our party wanted to order a side of fries but the owner proposed some sort of alternative where the rest of us somehow lost our fries and yet the other person was still charged for the extra order of fries. I guess we were substituted rice instead? It was all pretty confusing. The bill also came out to be much more than what was on the menu, which seems to be a common occurrence based on other reviews I've read. Food was just okay especially considering the price point though portion size was decent. All in all, will probably not return again considering an abundance of other options in the area. read more

The owner is extremely friendly and nice. He gave us the eggplant dish on the house since my friend wanted to try it but I didn't like creamy dish. We ordered hummus/ Kebbeh / mixed grill platter and Everything was delicious. The waiter and the owner checked up on us to make sure we are enjoying our food. He gave us tips on how to eat the mix grill platter. You don't eat the rice with the meat. First you eat the rice then you put a slice of meat of the pita bread with the sauce and eat it. That's the traditional way of eating it. Everything was delicious and I would come back again! Tips : if you're ordering lamb order it rare as how the owner recommend it. We ate it medium rare cause we were not comfortable eating it rare however it came out a little bit chewy. I'm going to come back to try the lamb rare. read more

Very cute place! It's a bit small on the inside, but very cozy. The service was prompt, friendly, and warm. My friends and I got the Mixed Appetizer platter, and I honestly would skip this. It's a good variety of classic dishes, but some missed the mark (the bread it came with in particular with thin and drier than I'd prefer, and everything else was just okay). I think the entrees here are the stars of the show -- very tasty and huge portions! We all loved what we got (plates and wraps). Would come back again to try the other entrees (and maybe give those apps another try as well). read more

My mom and I had lunch today at Salma. We were so excited about to eat here because we were hungry. We started with the hummus appetizer. We both got one each because we love hummus. One serving was definitely enough for two people but we wanted to take some home to enjoy. The hummus was pretty good. I like my hummus with just a little more garlic and salt. For the main course I order a chicken shawarma sandwich. By the time I finished some of my hummus and pita I was stuffed and had to take my sandwich home. I had to wait until now to write my review because I was starving and had it for dinner. The sandwich was really good. I loved the flavor. I enjoyed my sandwich. My mom got the falafel sandwich and she also enjoyed her sandwich. The ambiance was very nice and they also had outdoor seating. Our server was very polite and friendly. I definitely think it's a nice place to go to eat. read more

Quick recap: -          Food: Very Good -          Portion size: Average to Large -          Service: Table Service -          Environment: Small NY restaurant with charm -          $: Average -          Perks: Outdoors table Overall? Very good food. Good portion. Nice service. Fairly priced. So why only 4 stars and not 5? Had to wait 1h30 to get our food... For this reason, I cannot give them a 5 star review. More details: We started with tabbouleh ($8.50) and Labneh ($9.50). I LOVE Lebanese bread and was so glad to see that this was not the thick Turkish/Greek pita that came for the apps!! Both were really solid. We were starting off a really strong start. Then we ordered the chicken shawarma platter ($19.50) and the Large Fattoush ($15.50). Everything was very good. A bit of a detail for most diners, but important let-down for me: the vinaigrette of the Fattoush was olive oil + balsamic, when it should have been Olive Oil + Lemon Juice. So that was a bit disappointing, but other than that, the food was tasty and the quantities were good! If they can fix their waiting time, I would DEFINITELY go back! Or maybe just go there when you know you have a lot of time ahead of you, the food is worth it! read more

My friend and I got the mixed appetizer platter and the lamb platter which was a good portion for the two of us. The mixed appetizer was really nice since we got to try a lot of different foods. My favorite was the eggplant! The lamb platter was also delicious and was tender and flavorful. The rice included with the lamb platter was also a favorite. This restaurant is a bit smaller so it gets pretty busy and full in the evenings, but if you come on the earlier end then you might not have a wait. All the stars go to friendliness of the people working there. They were sweet, very welcoming and quick to seat and serve us. With that, it definitely built up the expectation of amazing food to go with the service. Unfortunately they didn't match up. The QR scan menu was easy to scroll through with lots of pictures. We wanted to share some light plates since it was already pretty late in the evening. We ordered fattoush salad, moutabal eggplant and falafel sandwich. It all came out pretty quick with a side of pita bread. - salad was overdressed with strong vinegar dressing overwhelming the taste of the vegetables. It unsuccessfully tried to mask old soggy cucumber slices and hard cardboard-like tomato. We didn't finish it - eggplant had an interesting taste to it. At first I liked it but then it started to feel like fake smoke or meat grease mix that gave that aftertaste - falafel sandwich was dry with a stale deli pita around it. I avoided the pita basket after trying to the falafel (didn't take a pic. It was underwhelming) Sad! Wish it was better! Hope it will will improve! read more
