1st of all I live 3 blocks away + have walked by this place for years. A friend was talking about Palestinian food + when I looked for restaurants in Manhattan Qanoon was the 1st one! We ordered delivery (came exactly when they said) We ordered: Dip Trifecta. All Delish!!!! Babaganoush/Hummus/Mumhammara rall exceptional! Fried Cauliflower Fritters - you'd think how good could they be? They were that good! Makloubeh cubed lamb w eggplant + other veggies served over a saffron rice - charred on the bottom (an Iranian friend says they also char (not really a char) of the rice. While def good - we thought the lamb was a bit dry. They sent us a container of their lebna floating in spices + a light olive oil! Their pita came piping hot. We will return. Must try more items soon!!!

Qanoon is such a cute location, we had a lovely experience dining here. They had unique twists on traditional dishes. The mujadarra croquette intrigued me, it was very good. The fattoush was delicious as always. The kibbeh & shishbarak was also delicious. We basically ordered a bunch of apps and shared. The ambiance is beautiful, the seats have traditional Palestinian embroidery and there's a stunning mural on the wall. I am always happy to support my local Palestinian businesses, especially in these times. Our server was standard, nothing stellar but he got the job done! My only complaint about this restaurant are the portions. Everything was incredibly small! The kibbeh came with 2 kibbeh balls, meaning each kibbeh is about $7 (I believe the total was $14). We were a table of 3 and we ordered 3 appetizers and 1 entree, expecting this to be enough. We were unfortunately still hungry at the end of dinner, lol. Because of this alone, I would not come back unless I wasn't very hungry or just wanted apps and drinks.

My experience at Qanoon was impeccable from start to finish. They accommodated our group of six with ease (we did make a reservation, but you may have been able to pull off a walk in- not super full when we went). Great for a large group to share dishes mezze style. Our waiter seemed to be holding down the fort for the whole FOH but still managed to be attentive and kind, and was joking with us all night. The food came out quickly and was all delicious. I was so impressed with the details- fresh hot pita, bottles of Palestinian olive oil on every table, and spicy sauces to accompany our food. Every dish was bursting with flavor! My favorites were the hummus, sumac chicken, kibbeh and grape leaves. I will absolutely be back.

A cozy spot on the west side serving up Palestinian eats -- I'd recommend doing family-style and ordering a few dishes to share. The servers are attentive and they're pretty strict about closing time and last seating. The Muhammara and Knafeh here was absolutely delicious -- some of the standout dishes, I wish we'd ordered more dips!

Never had Palestinian food before and was die ducted to try this place as it had been on my list for a long time. Overall good experience, I would say it's a bit elevated compared to what I was expecting but I really enjoyed the lamb and rice dish, the lamb was so tender and lightly rich and the rice was cooked super well and tender. They also had a seafood stuffed fritter that was delicious, but quite pricy. Check this place out if you're in the area!

If I could suggest, do not go for the baked pie on the brunch menu. It is painfully tiny and even with a delightful side of marinated olives, I had plenty of room in my stomach for dessert. It is warm and salty, with a bit of a crisp, so if you're looking for a light bite, I would suggest it. Paired with a mint lemonade which was tangy and a bit sweet, a nice little aperitif (which really could have been advertised better). I was so upset by the portion, I wanted to give them another chance and ordered a knafeh for dessert. And it more than made up for my experience. It was crunchy, sweet, cheesy. The pomegranates and pistachios gave it a nice contrast of flavors and crunch. It even came with a carafe of syrup so you could control the sweetness yourself. Very much recommend that. The place is a bit understaffed so do expect a wait. But they were so kind and jovial despite that. Its well worth a visit a least for the knafeh. But please please please choose another entree.

Amazing meal at Qanoon!! From start to finish, every course was so good. The portions are the perfect size, you won't leave hungry but you also won't have so much leftover you feel you wasted food. We had hummus, caufliower fritters, eggplant and fattoush. So yummy. For dessert, we had Knafeh which was amazing with the rose water syrup. Service was friendly and attentive. They have one bathroom available in the back of the restaurant. We had a reservation and I encourage one because it's a small restaurant and filled up quickly.

TLDR: Cute spot near me so I wanted to like it, but I was really disappointed in the food, especially for the price point. I'd say value is 2/5, food is 3/5. FOOD: Everything was just okay or worse. I found it extremely underwhelming, especially for the price... my partner's take is "I could have gotten the same food at a halal street cart for a fraction of the price". We were thinking about ordering some spreads, but the server warned us that there are better things on the menu. Based on the server's recommendation, we ordered: - Palestinian Zara's bread with a side of cucumber and garlic labaneh ($20) - This was a special, but I wasn't a big fan, so much so that I gave part of my half to my partner - ShishBarak ($21) - Generally, it was fine, but didn't love it. It was a special and highly recommended by the server, but I was underwhelmed. The texture and flavor didn't quite seem right, but I liked the sauce. - Tabbouleh ($19) - I enjoyed it, I liked that it was light and lemony, but it was oddly sweet. My partner noted that it seemed like they poured lemonade on it. - Makloubeh ($36) - Both the reviews and the server suggested this one, but we found it to be pretty meh. SERVICE: Good, prompt, no complaints. Refilled our water when it was empty within 5 minutes. AMBIANCE: Nice! We came because it was a lovely summer evening and we wanted to sit outside. Inside is a bit dark, but seems nicely decorated and comfortable. Tables are small and a bit close together, but expected for Manhattan. OVERALL: I really wanted to like this spot being that I live in the area and it has outdoor seating, but I was so underwhelmed. Maybe it was an off night, but it definitely wasn't worth the $125+ bill so I will not be returning.

This was my first visit to a Palestine Restaurant. They had a small, beautiful inside that was lighted with candles all around. For appetizers we had mujaddara croquette and the baba ganoush. We also got the fried kibbeh, musakhan, and knafeh. I really liked how delicious and creamy the baba ganoush was. I really liked the use of pomegranate in the dish. The mujaddara croquette was pretty crispy. I felt like it tasted pretty plain. They didn't put much heat into their dishes which was very disappointing. They offered some chili flakes but to me a sign of a good restaurant is when they can make changes to the original recipes based on people's taste preference. The fried kibbeh was super fried. It was basically ground beef with spices and a side of yogurt. I was expecting this to not be so plain as well but unfortunately it was. For entrees we got a musakhan. The flat bread was good. I did find it weird that the flat bread was under the chicken since it made the bread a bit soggy. We also really liked how the chicken was cooked. The chicken was mixed in with spices and a mixture of onions, pine nuts, and cilantro. Overall, I recommend the musakhan. It wasn't spicy as I would have liked but well cooked/prepared dish. For dessert, we got the knafeh. This was a great knafeh. I liked how it wasn't too sweet. They did give a syrup bottle to help if you wanted to make the knafeh sweeter. I really liked the pomegranate and pistachios on top of the dish. I also really liked how shredded phyllo was so crispy. The waiter was ok. He wasn't as friendly or helpful as I would have liked him to be (especially when it came to choosing spicer options).

Delicious food with amazing Palestinian flavors. The baked feta was my favorite appetizer, it was a great salty and sweet combo. I asked for a spicy sauce on the side like harissa and this was insanely good as well especially in the makloubeh.

flew in friday evening and immediately hit up this spot for dinner and drinks, not realizing it was restaurant week but going for it anyways! $60 was honestly a great deal for an appetizer, entree and dessert. i got the grape leaves, filet mignon and the tiramisu. my cousin got the seared cheese, lamb shank and rice pudding. flavor-wise, everything was phenomenal! the spices weren't overpowering, but very present. everything tasted like someone's mother made it especially for you. i got the palestinian white wine to pair with my meal and it was dry and tart, i'd definitely buy a bottle next time. the service was smooth, and we didn't wait much for food, and we were able to walk in on a friday evening and get seated immediately. OH and also the AC was booming... amazing. loved the vibes inside, great interior, it felt like i was in a restaurant in europe. great meal and experience!

On a sunny Friday afternoon, my friend and I visited here with a reservation, with no wait whatsoever. I was surprised there wasn't a line out the door for this homey and chic Palestinian restaurant. Inside, the lights were dim, providing an intimate atmosphere. Like many NYC establishments, the tables were close together to accommodate for more seating. We shared an appetizer and an entree- a bit on the pricier side but typical NYC prices. - Makloubeh: 5/5, fluffy flavorful rice, tender lamb and the yogurt cut through the richness of the meat nicely - Cauliflower Fritters: 4/5, nice and crispy, a bit on the oilier side but the yogurt dip on the side softened the heaviness of the dish Please pay a visit if you haven't had a chance to try this cuisine! Would recommend. thnx for reading, byeee

Walked into a busy restaurant. Most seats were full but the waiter directed us to a table near the bar. Our table was small but we were able to move the clutter to the bar near us. The darkish atmosphere gave us a romantic vibe. We gave our orders shortly and served within 15-25 mins. The food was delicious. My favorite part was the baba ganoush. The eggplant was smoky and smooth. Would have preferred it to be spicy but their house sauce compensated for it. The

I first went to Hummus Kitchen at their UES location, but this one is equally wonderful. The space is on the smaller side (a bit narrow) and they have indoor seating for around 20-25 people. I recommend making a reservation in advance. The servers are friendly, attentive and the food comes out fairly quickly. As the name implies, the hummus here is excellent as is the thick pita it comes with (they have regular and whole wheat). If you haven't been before, get "the hummus kitchen" as it has 4 different types of hummus you can try. The mazze are also tasty, my favorite would have to be the grape leaves, but the falafel, cauliflower and babaghanoush are also extremely delicious (you can order any 3 for $28 and it comes with pita). For entrees, I highly highly recommend the chicken shawarma tacos (2 per serving) followed by the open arais tacos (also 2 per serving) and the Mediterranean red chicken (in that order). If you don't go with the shawarma tacos or want less bread, then the shawarma platter is also a good choice. The chicken shawarma tacos here are simply incredible, they serve them in their warm fluffy pita, sliced in half, open and fill the inside with chicken, onions and whatever else makes is so ridiculously addictive. This thing is bursting with flavor, it has to be the best chicken shawarma I have had in NYC. The tacos also come with a small side of hummus and babaghanoush along with pickles and some tomato salad. The portions are what you would expect as are the prices. The Green Shakshuka off the Brunch menu was a standout, featuring a rich, spiced tomato sauce topped with fresh baby spinach and two perfectly poached eggs. A major highlight to me was the swap from the traditional pita bread to a mini challah bread for dipping. The bread's sweetness perfectly complemented the savory stew. We finished with Turkish coffees and the Kitchen Kadaif, which was absolutely incredible. It's hard to believe it's dairy-free with a combination of shredded phyllo, rich halva, and shredded coconut that's the perfect balance of texture and sweetness. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing, ensuring we were out with plenty of time for our show at Studio 54. If you're looking for an authentic Mediterranean hidden gem in Midtown, this remains a must-visit.

I forgot all about the rickety chairs and tables once Juan and the food entered my life. Juan is a bright shiny star so happy self friendly so warm and he told us everything to order. He didn't lead us astray once and we love that in a waiter. This time during our our New York visit we were not only discussing our food we are also our waiters.
