Was very excited to bring my friends to this location after finding out they opened up a location in Dallas. I've been to the Plano location several times and loved it. Unfortunately my experience at this location did not live up to expectations. I ordered the chicken fried steak and was so excited to try it. Unfortunately it was not that great. I ate half before leaving and realized that there was a lot of breading but the disappointment settled in when I went to heat up my leftovers and discovered that it was essentially breading with no meat. We came to celebrate my bro in law bonus and we had an amazing time. He treated us and we had an amazing time time. The food was amazing I had the ribs and it was the best! Oh, and the queso, I recommend that you try it it's on their happy hour. They also have an amazing chipotle, dipping sauce that goes perfect with the onion rings. The first thing that impressed myself and my son was the environment. Dimly lit with warm decor, however we were sat at a large open window which was perfect for the breeze and people watching outside. The service with Durant as our server was spot on. My son wanted a Sheryl temple and I asked if it had an actual cherry on it. It didn't come that way, but he made sure he snuck a few to impress. Onto the meal. My son had the wagyu hamburger and said it was top 5 best hamburger he has ever had. He is only 16 so maybe a push but the Bone in Ribeye I had was pretty close to the best steak I have had outside of smoking it myself. It was a bit overcooked but nothing that disappointed me. It was just fine. I was ignored when first walking in, the host was in the phone and when he got off the phone he started talking to the couple behind me who came in after me. The location is beautiful and clean. Our server was nice. The menu was trying to be too spicy and too innovative. I got the Texas pecan pancakes-the syrup was spicy, The pecans were spiced, there was peach compote, just a lot going on that isn't necessary. My French fries were just fine, just regular fries, but the ketchup was spicy, again that's too much. It's a fancy place, just the food was just fine. The menu is not like the Haywire in Plano, if wax limited and horrible. Two of us had the chicken fried steak and it was so little meat and overly battered. Once we arrived for our reservation we got a text two more would be joining us so we asked if our 5 top could become a 7.. they offered us the patio and it being Mid January and freezing out our initial reaction was NO! They could wait for their own table separately. We proceeded to the lounge area where they have these fantastic worn in leather couches and coffee table while they got our table ready.. it was at that point we realized their patio is actually full enclosed and very sexy! We went back to host and asked if the patio for 7 was still available. It was and we had an epic dinner! In La, they won't even seat you unless your entire party is present. @ Haywire, they didn't even bat an eye and sat us right away! By the time we were ready to order our 2 guests arrived and it was truly a perfect timing with no stress. We ordered the Cowboy dinner for 4 plus a dinner plate of ribs. All were delicious and filling. It was plenty food for the 5 of us. (The couple that joined us are allergic to shellfish and thus ordered separate plates) this was a good thing bc nothing on the menu indicated to us that the succulent shrimp would be layed out on top of each piece of pre carved tomahawk. We left happy satisfied and full. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Ps: the Mac and cheese was not a fan favorite. Wow, first time here and blown away. 10/10 for service, atmosphere, and taste/quality of the food/drinks. I would say it has an elegant, stylish, Texas, and cowboy flair to it. We were visiting the area and this was recommended so we had to give it a shot. If you are coming from out of town, this is definitely worth coming to. With a large group of us, we were placed in the vintage-style air stream (very comfy with pillows) which I loved because it felt more secluded/intimate for our party. Note: portion sizes are very big. Highly suggest sharing between the 2 if you don't want any leftovers. What a charming place! I like the ambiance and the diversity in their menu. We went for brunch and although I accidentally ripped into my food before I could capture a shot of it. I had a variation of the chicken and waffles, but with chicken tenders and a pancake. I was disappointed that the only option for fried chicken was leg quarters, or stripes because I really wanted a fried breast - but the stripes were ok. I was not expecting this place to necessarily wow me in anyway. But they did, for unexpected reasons. Starting with easy parking and access by way of the underground garage. Having two young kids to tote, that was awesome. The place has western vibe to it but absolutely not tacky. The dim lights and open kitchen with clear glass gives it a good upscale feel. Our server was great and gave her honest opinion about menu items, which I love. Their menu is well rounded, complete with kids menu for the parents out there. We chose to get our daughter happy hour wagyu burgers as they seemed slightly better than the kids burger (and were excellent). Speaking of happy hour, they have a decent one with both food and drink specials. We took advantage of both. Their manager (I assume) stopped by and chatted with us briefly. He bragged on their queso dip then, surprisingly, let us try some prior to our meal. He wasn't lying. My Caesar was tasty and my wife's blackened catfish was very good also. I don't think I've formally written a review but I'm a big Haywire fan! We tell everyone to come here and hope our family can visit the soon to come locations in Houston and San Antonio. The service is always on point, food is so good, and drinks are delicious. Hubby says the Haywire drink is the best old fashioned. To me - the holidays are haywire. We always come on Christmas Eve and usually order their Route 66 pie for thanksgiving / Christmas. This year was no exception. The restaurant was so decked out for Christmas today. I always love coming, but especially on Christmas Eve. Jason is super awesome and introduced himself to us one night. Columbus makes the best Haywire drink.
