This restaurant doesn't need my acclaim, but it has it. Their staff, the food, and the atmosphere always brings me joy. I don't currently have a favorite dish here, but every item I have had has been super pleasing to me, and the group I tend to go with would say the same. Tried going to Hatch'd on a Sunday morning and saw the wait was nearly an hour. The following week we arrived a little after 7am and were seated right away. Fun intimate atmosphere. We went on a Saturday which had a long wait, but you can join the waitlist on yelp which saved us over an hour as our "wait" was the drive there. Excellent service ... not fast but we were not in a hurry and just had a good leisure breakfast. Bottomless mimosas on Saturday if you are so inclined. Food was 5 out of 5. Between the atmosphere, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff, there is literally nowhere else we'd rather go. My partner and I frequent Hatch'd even though we try to save money, it's hard to say no to this place. I've tried multiple different food items and everything has been great. Would strongly recommend going here if you like a "hole-in-the-wall" experience with the coziness of a local breakfast joint. And Josh, one of the owners, is always working with his crew and greeting his customers and getting to know them. 10/10 would recommend! Went here on a Thursday morning and they were busy even though it was a weekday, but we didn't wait more than about five minutes. The service was excellent and we even had some staff come chat with us that wasn't our server. I ordered the 'I now pronounce you, Chicken and Waffle' which came out hot and fresh. The chicken was tender and juicy and not too spicy. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes and was pleased as well. Also, the pineapple juice was very good. They had a lot of retro shows playing on the tvs, such as the best of Bob Ross and old The Price is Right episodes. I've never seen Bob Barker look so young. Lots of fun decor. We would definitely visit again, the food is worth it. My one suggestion and it might have just been my plate, but the chicken breast on the chicken and waffle was small. The breakfast menu is pretty extensive. All the dishes we tried were very good. I particularly liked the Belgian waffles.

Service was really great! We joined the waitlist which was perfect as we were seated within ~5 minutes of showing up. Everyone was very nice and the owner and waitress both came over during the meal to check in. It's super tight inside and the waitresses and bussers could barely get by sometimes and it felt really close to our table. It's loud inside as well. The food was good but I would get a different sandwich next time; it didn't really blow me away. The pancakes / waffles looked so good at the table next to me so I definitely want to try that the next time if I'm craving sweeter breakfast. Parking is tricky so be prepared to park on the street or across the main road in a small parking lot. read more

Finally headed to Hatch'd for breakfast. Well worth the 45 min drive for me from Lake St. Louis!) I was a bit confused on parking but was told the lot across the street is theirs. (It was full, so side street parking was necessary.) I had made same day reservations for 4 and we only waited a few minutes. Quick to seat us and it was busy and full on a Saturday morning. I asked the waitress her recommendations. She said their pancakes were different than all others. I was intrigued! I ordered the veggie omelette with a side of their seasonal pancake. It was a poached pear champagne pancake with some yummy goodness on top that was not too sweet and SO delicious. You know it's a great pancake when you eat half of it before you realized you never added syrup!! It did not need it. The batter is unique and sweet. What I wasn't prepared for was the best veggie omelette ever. How? They dice their veggies super fine so it's packed with all the veggies in every bite! Thanks to the owner for stopping by to explain all about our food we had ordered and what made it all so delicious!! This is why I will always drive to find great local restaurants in the city. Excellent service and above and beyond extras!! Oh and the bacon was amazing!! I love the old building with exposed brick inside, it added to its unique charm. Great prices and portions. Make sure you get on the waitlist before leaving your house or else you will be waiting a long time. I am so glad they have the option to get on the waitlist because the wait was over an hour long. Once we got seated, our server came up to us in a good amount of time. I had a pancake as well as an omelette. My omelette was a little overcooked, but it had great flavor. I usually don't like chorizo, but I decided to get an omelette with chorizo in it and I can say I really enjoyed it. I would say this place isn't the best for bigger groups because the tables are smaller and it's more of a compact area. It is a great place for Sunday brunch. read more

Every time I go to hatch''d I am reminded of why someone gets into the restaurant business! I have been going there since before COVID and this has been true before and after. The food is always good. The Brisket Benny Never disappoints! One of the owners makes daily. The nachostostada is great! They have good shrimp and Grits too. They have good chorizo!! I love really good chorizo! The eggs Always come how I order them. We are a family that doesn't like whipped eggs, I always order "Cracked Scrambled" it's a texture thing.iykyk. We ordered the Cardinal skillet and California King burrito are. The burrito was okay but it didn't have enough bacon in it. Plus I prefer the breakfast burritos at BLT's and The Shack. The Cardinal skillet came with smoked turkey, bacon, onions, red peppers, Swiss cheese, eggs your way on a bed of grits. You do have the option to get it over hashbrowns instead of grits. The waffle was humongous. It was artfully decorated with sliced strawberries, and butter. It was crunchy on the outside and melt in your mouth soft on the inside. It didn't start great. We put our name on the wait list and when we got there the hostess said she couldn't see our names. Very frustrating. She then admitted that the wait list has not work properly earlier, but still wanted proof that I was telling her the truth. Another couple walked up and the same thing happened to them. I usually try something different every time we eat here but I had to get the strawberry basil French toast for a second time. The bread is perfection and the berries are fresh and soaked in the basil, and then the cream!!! Also, they give you enough syrup unlike a lot of places lately. We joined the waitlist on the website and we're eagerly greeted at the host stand upon our arrival. We still had a 10 minute wait, but there was plenty of seating while we waited. Yvonne, our waitress came eight over and got our drinl order and explained the specials to us. When ordering, we all had questions and she provided honest feedback and suggestions. Our food came out rather quickly and was super delicious! When our food was delivered, the owner, Josh, came over and told us what one of our entrée was inspired by. He was very personable and fun to talk to. It's not everyday that an owner comes and makes you feel so welcome that you always want to come back. If you spot some of my reviews you may notice that I review a lot of breakfast places. That is correct as I love my food served hot and when cooking at home I can never seem to pull it all together. I stopped at Hatch'd for breakfast and as they were crowded I sat at the bar here. That's not unusual as I don't like to take a table if there's an option when I'm by myself. Anyway I thought I'd try the Hatch'd yogurt parfait breakfast. The presentation of the yogurt dish was pretty sweet with the top shaped like the sun by the fruit slices but the yogurt was bland, and it was not the taste I expected. That may mean I got a healthier than normal yogurt but the ingredients were not listed so this may have been a zero fat no added sugar plain Greek yogurt. It didn't have a sweet taste to it and the yogurt plainness overpowered the taste of the fruit. It had about 1/3 less fruit than a competitor's yogurt meal, and the competitor's comes with a full sized muffin. At Hatch'd I didn't add a muffin, just took the yogurt plus 2 scrambled eggs for their protein. The eggs here are typically drier than some other locations, not burnt nor dried out just not as tasty. The coffee was fine but I ran out of cream and the server was covering a number of spots and by the time I for a coffee refill I was out of cream and I need cream to handle coffee. The server, and really all the wait staff here are friendly or at least pleasant and the owner has always been here when I've stopped by. This is a breakfast and brunch / lunch place only and I've never gotten anything that's a breakfast here. I've based this review on my most recent visit but I've eaten here about 2-3 times a month since I found it last year. This is NOT your typical single location, greasy spoon or diner; they are well above that. read more

Had fantastic recommendations which we leaned into. Try their home smoked meats! Try their home made gravy! OMG try the white cheddar cheese grits! Tons of farm to fork extremely fresh food. Food I had the breakfast quesadilla and added smoked brisket. The verde sauce was a little kicky but with a dip of sour cream...together they were the perfect accoutrements to the quesadilla. I brought half my quesadilla home. The hub's devoured his 3- egg pastrami omelette and (at Kim's suggestion) used the mustard. Game changer! Oh yah, HAD to try the biscuits and graveyard. Do not o er look the carbo load, just like mama's cooking side. Again, as recommended by Kim, the white cheddar grits were excepted, creamy, and an awesome treat. Would I go back? Heck ya! Went for brunch on Sunday with my husband and his friend. We were expecting it to be busy and it was. We were fortunate that it was so warm because we waited a little over an hour for a table which felt a bit excessive. We finally had to ask and it seemed like they had forgotten about us. While they were busy, the service inside was kind of slow and inefficient. The menu is packed with tons of options; it was hard to make a selection because a lot of it looked good. I got the spicy skillet which was good but too much garlic and spice. I wanted spicy but it, and the garlic, were the only discernible flavors. It didn't harmonize well and I could taste the cheese, egg, grits, or sausage. My husband liked his sandwich but said it was good but extremely greasy. He also got a waffle which was yummy but overly vanilla. His friend got chicken and waffles which he loved. Irish coffees were passable. Overall this place was decent but could use some tweaks. Came after a great workout in Saturday and it was such a nice treat. We joined the waitlist about 15-20 minutes before. We were seated quickly upon arrival, and were lead upstairs to their event space. There's a good amount of room up there, so def an awesome spot to have a get together. Our server was super friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the menu. We really enjoyed her serving us! I got bottomless coffee which is accompanied with coffee mate creamer on the tables. Their coffee is served in a large collection of vintage mugs- it's always fun to see what mug you get :) I always find myself getting the same thing everytime I come, but I guess I know what I like.
