Definitely use the online waitlist if you are wanting to eat at Hatch'd on the weekend! Got on it about an hour and a half before we planned to eat and were the next table seated after we checked-in. Hatch'd is in a relatively small space with limited seating, so other parties arriving were given a wait time of 2 hours on a Sunday morning. The food was all pretty good, your standard Breakfast fare. A few in our group got the California King which is a massive breakfast burrito- and is probably what I'd order next time I visit. My Chicken Fried Steak (my normal go-to at a breakfast spot) was alright, not sure if it was overcooked or if I'm just not a fan of the breading they use on it here. Service was a bit slow but that's to be expected during a brunch rush anywhere. Joel Olsteen on the TV was a bit of a turn off. read more

This was my first time at Hatch'd, but it won't be my last. I arrived about 11:30am, street parking was available. It was crowded, there was about a 20 minute wait. I received my mimosa from the bar and soon headed up the steep steps to the 2nd floor. I ordered the California King - Bacon, Cheddar, French Fries and Scrambled Egg Burrito, Served over Hash Browns, Smothered in House Made Queso with Pico. Delicious! Customer service was great. Everything was nice and clean with plenty of bobble heads! The waitress did mess up my check but it was ok, nothing major. I just wish we would've been told when we ordered that there is a surcharge on eggs. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place on a Friday morning. When I initially came in I waited for about a few minutes until someone sat me at a high table top. I ordered apple juice, the hatch'd it, and a waffle with strawberry's. I'm not sure why I ended up with a pancake when I let the waitress know i ordered a waffle twice while I was waiting. The wait here was long and they weren't even that busy. The pancake that i didn't ordered came out way longer and I had already finished the breakfast dish. I didn't even have the energy to ask for the waffle a 3rd time because the wait was too long. The floor was also super sticky. The place is smaller and I'm sure this is why its so busy on the weekends. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

Delicious, hearty breakfast! I joined the waitlist on Yelp from home and by the time we arrived, we were seated immediately. We did have to wait about 40 minutes for our food but with a coffee and a drink, it went by quickly. The food was so worth the wait, huge portion sizes and it was SO good. Will be back! read more

Wonderful, fantastic, really the best breakfast place in the whole STL region. Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all had raised eyebrows and smiles while eating. The owner and his dad (?) came by to all the tables for a short, friendly chat. It feels like a neighborhood favorite, which it probably is. Very relaxing, inviting atmosphere. It's not very big, so yes, you might have to wait on the weekends. The only negative, and it is unfortunately a big negative, is the parking situation. We had someone in our party with some mobility issues, so parking across Gravois was simply not an option. (Frankly, as an able-bodied person, I don't want to have to cross Gravois without a crosswalk either!) You'll have to find street parking, which isn't always easy. Just something to be mindful of. Don't be in a rush, because you'll be frustrated and angry, and nobody wants to eat in such a cute place with someone with a bad attitude. ;) read more

Oh my gosh! I can't get this place off my mind!! I ate breakfast this morning and it was the best breakfast I've had in a very long time! I made my own omelet and it came with hash browns and a pancake. DELICIOUS! Our waiter was very friendly and the owner came over to our table to apologize for the food delay and introduce himself. Absolutely fabulous food and service. It takes a minute for the food to arrive but it's all made from scratch. I enjoyed a couple of virgin Bloody Marys. The pastrami was a little dry but delicious. This is only my second time being here. First time was honestly not a good experience, but the owner was kind and made good on the situation without our party even making a fuss about the situation. So it was only right I came back a second time and so glad I did! This time around it was just me and my sister. We made reservations around 10ish the day of and were seated by noon. So please keep in mind if you're trying to go here. Plan accordingly! Normally I take pictures of everything I try so I can remember to make my review on everything I had. I failed this time but luckily I was able to get a picture of the French toast. We ordered the half order to share and so glad we only ordered the half portion bc it was actually huge! It was really good....just wished the basil wasn't just sprinkle on top of the whipped cream and wished it was sprinkled onto the toast as well. Regardless, the strawberries were so fresh, the whipped cream and the basil all complimented the dish so well. We each had two drinks. First one was the espresso martini and it was yummy! Then we switched it another lighter drink and wished I remembered or taken a picture of my second drink and that one was even better. For my meal I ordered the Double dare with hashbrowns and that was also delicious. This place is def worth the try and the owner has put a lot of thought into the decor. Ask about the coffee mugs. Every time I go to hatch''d I am reminded of why someone gets into the restaurant business! I have been going there since before COVID and this has been true before and after. The food is always good. The Brisket Benny Never disappoints! One of the owners makes daily. The nachostostada is great! They have good shrimp and Grits too. They have good chorizo!! I love really good chorizo! The eggs Always come how I order them. We are a family that doesn't like whipped eggs, I always order "Cracked Scrambled" it's a texture thing.iykyk. The servers have been there since before Covid. They work together and help each other out. Even when restaurants didn't have waitstaff they always seemed to. They are a happy "family" as Little Katie said today. She's been there since the beginning. The truth is that the owners a dad and son are ever present and must be great to work for! We had maybe a 5 minute wait and then we were seated and asked if we had been there before. We told them it's our first time. The waitress took her time to explain tge food and her recommendations. I had the early bird special and it filled me just fine. The eggs are so full and fluffy and had tge best flavor ive ever had. The bacon was nice big thick slices and I asked for mine wimy and it came out wimpy. So.its good to know they listen to your order and get it right. The pancakes were like eating a special cakes made just fir me. They kept our drinks refilled and made sure if we needed anything without being a bother while doing it. On top of the great food the prices are very reasonable and you don't break the bank when eating there. It's about the same price it would cost uou to go through McDonald's drive thru for breakfast as to eat atbtge Hatch'd and a heck of a nicer place. We finally made it here for brunch!! We came in the summer but the wait was too long. This time we utilized the waitlist and only waited about 5 mins once we arrived. The food is very simple and very good. The perfect breakfast at a great price point. I was VERY hungry and couldn't decide on savory or sweet. The menu is large. I got the Mary Moon skillet (Mediterranean option with Spinach, Mushroom, Tomato, Red Onion, Red Pepper, Feta cheese, hash browns, eggs, toast) and half order of French toast. Everything was great. I loved every bite. My boyfriend got an omelet. He said it was the best omelet he ever had. We were very happy. The only negative was the dirty coffee cup I was given (the coffee was great) and the dirty decor hanging near our high top table. We could see the dust build up. But the food was great, we totally get why the waitlist at peak hours on the weekend is approx. 2 hours. We will be back! read more

My partner and I frequent Hatch'd even though we try to save money, it's hard to say no to this place. I've tried multiple different food items and everything has been great. Would strongly recommend going here if you like a "hole-in-the-wall" experience with the coziness of a local breakfast joint. And Josh, one of the owners, is always working with his crew and greeting his customers and getting to know them. 10/10 would recommend! I don't currently have a favorite dish here, but every item I have had has been super pleasing to me, and the group I tend to go with would say the same. Tried going to Hatch'd on a Sunday morning and saw the wait was nearly an hour. The following week we arrived a little after 7am and were seated right away. If you spot some of my reviews you may notice that I review a lot of breakfast places. That is correct as I love my food served hot and when cooking at home I can never seem to pull it all together. I stopped at Hatch'd for breakfast and as they were crowded I sat at the bar here. That's not unusual as I don't like to take a table if there's an option when I'm by myself. Anyway I thought I'd try the Hatch'd yogurt parfait breakfast. The presentation of the yogurt dish was pretty sweet with the top shaped like the sun by the fruit slices but the yogurt was bland, and it was not the taste I expected. That may mean I got a healthier than normal yogurt but the ingredients were not listed so this may have been a zero fat no added sugar plain Greek yogurt. It didn't have a sweet taste to it and the yogurt plainness overpowered the taste of the fruit. It had about 1/3 less fruit than a competitor's yogurt meal, and the competitor's comes with a full sized muffin. At Hatch'd I didn't add a muffin, just took the yogurt plus 2 scrambled eggs for their protein. The eggs here are typically drier than some other locations, not burnt nor dried out just not as tasty. The coffee was fine but I ran out of cream and the server was covering a number of spots and by the time I for a coffee refill I was out of cream and I need cream to handle coffee. The server, and really all the wait staff here are friendly or at least pleasant and the owner has always been here when I've stopped by. This is a breakfast and brunch / lunch place only and I've never gotten anything that's a breakfast here. I've based this review on my most recent visit but I've eaten here about 2-3 times a month since I found it last year. This is NOT your typical single location, greasy spoon or diner; they are well above that. read more

Everyone was very nice and the owner and waitress both came over during the meal to check in. It's super tight inside and the waitresses and bussers could barely get by sometimes and it felt really close to our table. It's loud inside as well. The food was good but I would get a different sandwich next time; it didn't really blow me away. The pancakes / waffles looked so good at the table next to me so I definitely want to try that the next time if I'm craving sweeter breakfast. Went here on a Thursday morning and they were busy even though it was a weekday, but we didn't wait more than about five minutes. The service was excellent and we even had some staff come chat with us that wasn't our server. I ordered the 'I now pronounce you, Chicken and Waffle' which came out hot and fresh. The chicken was tender and juicy and not too spicy. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes and was pleased as well. Also, the pineapple juice was very good. They had a lot of retro shows playing on the tvs, such as the best of Bob Ross and old The Price is Right episodes. I've never seen Bob Barker look so young. Lots of fun decor. We would definitely visit again, the food is worth it. My one suggestion and it might have just been my plate, but the chicken breast on the chicken and waffle was small.
