Joined the waitlist on a Thursday morning because this place stays busy, which is a good thing! We had a little bit of a wait on our arrival but nothing bad at all. Our waitress was nice and offered good recommendations. She was a little forgetful at times but it was fine overall. My husband ordered a spicy Bloody Mary. He said it was good but not very spicy. He was able to doctor it up with the hot sauces on the table. I ordered the Chicken and waffle with a side of hash browns. I also added a side of scrambled eggs. The chicken was really good. It was very well seasoned and crispy. The sauce was very flavorful. The waffle was ok. I was expecting more of the vanilla flavor to come through. My eggs were really hot and so was the chicken but my hash browns and waffle weren't very warm. I also felt like my hash browns were a bit overcooked. They were too crispy. My husband ordered the Briskets and gravy omelet with a side of tots. Those tots are amazing. I'm not sure what seasoning they use but it was great. He enjoyed the omelet a lot and felt it was a nice hearty breakfast. It did take a while to get our food but over all everything was good. Hatch'd is a really good breakfast spot. We planned a day of being out and about in the city. Starting with breakfast at Hatch'd! Joined the waitlist online and was surprised to see that they asked if we wanted an indoor or outdoor seat. Picked outdoor and headed that way when the time was right. As we traveled, I got a text saying it was going to be later than expected. Then one a few minutes later that said out table was ready. After getting there 10 min later, it turns out that 1) they don't have outdoor tables and 2) the table was not quite ready. No big deals but not the best way to start our experience. Got sat and ordered drinks and then food. They were very busy, as it was Good Friday and everyone had a similar idea as us! We enjoyed the drinks and talked u til our food came out. My wife got chicken and waffles, and I got a pastrami skillet. Mine must have sat for a while because it was all room temp. Cheese was solid again and the toast wasn't warm. All tasted great, and I ate it all, but again, not great. Our server (Jordan) did a great job of taking care of us, especially since it was so busy. We decided to skip the wait and sit at the bar since there were some open seats. The bartender was very friendly and service was great. Two of us got make your own omelette and the other got the pastrami hash and everyone loved their meal. I only gave it four stars instead of five because they had Fox News on the TV. I have heard so much about this restraint I had to try it. It is cute and the staff very friendly and helpful. I absolutely loved the potato's. I am not really a fan of eggs but the omelet was recommended so I tried it and it was good. Light, fluffy, full of goodies and not greasy or dry like some omelets. I was not a fan of the biscuit and gravy though. I found the gravy to be flavorless and a little off putting. However, that was the only negative I had with Hatch'd. Definitely use the online waitlist if you are wanting to eat at Hatch'd on the weekend! Got on it about an hour and a half before we planned to eat and were the next table seated after we checked-in. Hatch'd is in a relatively small space with limited seating, so other parties arriving were given a wait time of 2 hours on a Sunday morning. The food was all pretty good, your standard Breakfast fare. A few in our group got the California King which is a massive breakfast burrito- and is probably what I'd order next time I visit. My Chicken Fried Steak (my normal go-to at a breakfast spot) was alright, not sure if it was overcooked or if I'm just not a fan of the breading they use on it here. I received my mimosa from the bar and soon headed up the steep steps to the 2nd floor. I ordered the California King - Bacon, Cheddar, French Fries and Scrambled Egg Burrito, Served over Hash Browns, Smothered in House Made Queso with Pico. Delicious! Customer service was great. Everything was nice and clean with plenty of bobble heads! The waitress did mess up my check but it was ok, nothing major. We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Finally got a chance to try this place on a Friday morning. When I initially came in I waited for about a few minutes until someone sat me at a high table top. I ordered apple juice, the hatch'd it, and a waffle with strawberry's. I'm not sure why I ended up with a pancake when I let the waitress know i ordered a waffle twice while I was waiting. The wait here was long and they weren't even that busy. The pancake that i didn't ordered came out way longer and I had already finished the breakfast dish. I didn't even have the energy to ask for the waffle a 3rd time because the wait was too long. The floor was also super sticky. It has been a while since we had brunch at hatch'd. We visited early and got in right away. The nice thing about hatched is that there is a waiting list on the website to see how many folks are waiting in line. Nice touch it makes it easy to gear your visit and travel time. This visit was different we got to sit upstairs in the private room for parties but they open it up on the weekends to accommodate the customers that have increased over the months. A good sign for the restaurant and the neighborhood. I enjoyed the Pavo de Pablo a little spicy flavor but not overpowering. A meal with smoked turkey,bacon, caramelized onions and pepper jack cheese (giving the little zing), this meal offers. They have many options plus make up your own meal and happy hours and bloody mary and mimosa specials. The servers are great and most times you will meet the owner at your visit. Check out the coffee if you like it you can take home a bag for later. Don't pass up hatch'd you will not be disappointed. I recommend this breakfast/ lunch stop. read more

Wonderful, fantastic, really the best breakfast place in the whole STL region. Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all had raised eyebrows and smiles while eating. The owner and his dad (?) came by to all the tables for a short, friendly chat. It feels like a neighborhood favorite, which it probably is. Very relaxing, inviting atmosphere. It's not very big, so yes, you might have to wait on the weekends. The only negative, and it is unfortunately a big negative, is the parking situation. We had someone in our party with some mobility issues, so parking across Gravois was simply not an option. (Frankly, as an able-bodied person, I don't want to have to cross Gravois without a crosswalk either!) You'll have to find street parking, which isn't always easy. Just something to be mindful of. Don't be in a rush, because you'll be frustrated and angry, and nobody wants to eat in such a cute place with someone with a bad attitude. ;) read more

This is only my second time being here. First time was honestly not a good experience, but the owner was kind and made good on the situation without our party even making a fuss about the situation. So it was only right I came back a second time and so glad I did! This time around it was just me and my sister. We made reservations around 10ish the day of and were seated by noon. I failed this time but luckily I was able to get a picture of the French toast. We ordered the half order to share and so glad we only ordered the half portion bc it was actually huge! It was really good....just wished the basil wasn't just sprinkle on top of the whipped cream and wished it was sprinkled onto the toast as well. Regardless, the strawberries were so fresh, the whipped cream and the basil all complimented the dish so well. We each had two drinks. First one was the espresso martini and it was yummy! Then we switched it another lighter drink and wished I remembered or taken a picture of my second drink and that one was even better. For my meal I ordered the Double dare with hashbrowns and that was also delicious. This place is def worth the try and the owner has put a lot of thought into the decor. Ask about the coffee mugs. We finally made it here for brunch!! We came in the summer but the wait was too long. This time we utilized the waitlist and only waited about 5 mins once we arrived. The food is very simple and very good. The perfect breakfast at a great price point. I was VERY hungry and couldn't decide on savory or sweet. The menu is large. I got the Mary Moon skillet (Mediterranean option with Spinach, Mushroom, Tomato, Red Onion, Red Pepper, Feta cheese, hash browns, eggs, toast) and half order of French toast. Everything was great. I loved every bite. My boyfriend got an omelet. He said it was the best omelet he ever had. We were very happy.
