The bayfront view from our table

We brought an out-of-town visitor here after not coming in for a few years and it was as good as remembered. I had a traditional breakfast with eggs over medium, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. The biscuit was great and they make their own Datil pepper sauce, which nicely spiced up the potatoes. Our visitor had the Big Bubba -- a biscuit topped by scrambled eggs topped by sausage topped by gravy. They left no crumb behind. I didn't know they offer ryder sandwiches for lunch, a local staple on the First Coast popularized by early 20th century immigrants from Lebanon. I'll be back for that soon.

So many breakfast spots to chose from and we lucked out with choosing this one. Immediately greeted and seated, happy to wait but again lucked out. It was a Thursday morning around 9. Our server was super friendly and got us our coffee as soon as we sat down. I We split the fruit bowl, it was plenty for 2 and delicious. Even had raspberries & pineapples. I got the Atkins omelet w cheese, absolutely delicious and big enough to bring half home for lunch. Hubby got the spinach omelet w a big biscuit and hash browns. He said it was great, loved the hash browns and raved about the biscuit. Price was just about what we expected. Diane our server was amazing. Highly recommend this cute place.

The food was perfect. Fresh and delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly. I had the Bob's Benedict. The hollandaise was home made and I think the biscuits were too. We sat right in front of the harbor which was beautiful. The service was good too. Terry answered all of our questions even about the harbor. Mary still runs the show inside. Apparently for 39 years. It's a family business and you can tell.

Here is the good and the bad about this restaurant from my point of view and personal experience visiting St Augustine with little kids. Do I recommend it? Sure, it's not a bad option but also not the best. The service was not that great and it seems like they need more help to run the place but it's a mom and pops so there goes that. The food wasn't bad, we tried the Big Bubba , one with grits and one with Fries, it tasted good either way. When I asked for a cappuccino I was expecting something home made, then I saw my server just picking an option out of the machine just like you can do at Fresh Market so there goes that. (wouldn't order coffee here) . Our toddler had the scrambled eggs with fries and sausage party and it was alright. Fair warning...They are not toddler friendly at all, so if you have kids and a stroller.... Good luck! Otherwise you are good to go here and wait outside to be seated. I was lucky that there was an empty table at the end and had to fold the stroller and put all bags on the floor as they offer me no option to put the stroller anywhere. The lady server was even bothered that I put the stroller next to the cooler but she was able to open the door as needed. (Only once during our meal here and it was because I asked for bottled waters to go) again, not great service. They took forever to even offer us some coffee and water and take our order and seem like they were purposely ignoring us and passing by our table while taking other orders. We were already sat down, stroller folded, toddler seating down, newborn on bassinet and bags on the floor so I wasn't about to get up. *** they don't have toddler seats*** Warning ‼ There is a big step when coming I and getting out and as we were getting in a lady with a walking stick fell down. The best thing about this place is the view of the bay that you get. They have a big mirror on the back that allows you to see the bay behind you or if you are seating forward then it's a nice view. Don't go here expecting great service and if you go with toddlers or little kids expect to sit them in your lap and if you take a small enough stroller then maybe you are good but not with the Uppa Baby Vista.

Went back to Harbor View this past Friday. It always feels like going to visit my favorite aunt. Everyone is so pleasant and attentive. The food always hits. This time I tried the Vegetable Omlette. It was delicious. As always the biscuits are impeccable. The potatoes good but i like them a bit crispier. Great coffee, great vibe. As always, a fantastic breakfast spot.

Fresh Veggie & Cheese omelette, biscuit, and potatoes

Happily surprised to walk right in with no wait on a Friday morning. Service was fantastic and they have a great selection of regular menu items and specials. I chose the veggie and cheese omelette with feta as my cheese choice. Potatoes and a biscuit as my sides. The omelette was big, filling of veggies and feta and cooked perfectly. Delicious and filling, it was exactly what I wanted. The extra large biscuit was crispy and buttery on the top and bottom with a soft and fluffy middle, again perfection. The potatoes were the only "okay" item on my plate. A strange mix of chunks and shredded potatoes that were seasoned well but not cooked enough. I prefer my potatoes a bit more crispy on the outside, with a nice crunch. Overall, excellent food, cozy place and the best service. Location is great too, right I. The heart of all there is to do in the old city, right along the Bayfront.

Love the people who runs the place very welcoming I was there for my birthday weekend with my family (from Alabama) and we saw that it's just close to us and tried it and was in love with it good people good food great view great service! Been walking by here for years and never stopped in. Usually because there was a line. Little place inside and pretty busy. Lots of choices for lunch and dinner with some local favs. I ordered the Monterey sandwich which had chicken and ham on it. Brioche bun and the fixings made for a nice bite. Deb tried the chicken and potato salads. Both were really good. Service was quick and food came out in a reasonable time. Place seems to walk the line of a local place and a tourist place pretty well.

We had a small group so we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The reason I took a star off the rating was for service. It was disappointing because every single employee we encountered was not overly friendly. This includes hostess, bartender and waitress. It was odd. Such a cute place but we felt like the staff was just blah. No personality, not helpful, nothing. Not interactive or engaging. Maybe it was an off night for everyone. I will give it another chance.

It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!

The deck is covered and there are fans and windows so it did not get hot. The food was great! Bang bang shrimp wasn't spicy at all, had a nice tangy flavor, and the shrimp was tasted super fresh. The crab bisque fries were crispy and the bisque tasty. The lobster ravioli was SO good. I usually do not like cheese with seafood but this worked perfectly. It was creamy, savory, slightly sweet from the crab and shrimp cheese sauce it comes in which perfectly complemented the very stuffed lobster ravioli. The fish and wedges were really good too. Fish was meaty and crispy, wedges tasted roasted instead of fried and the coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and sweet. As a bonus, the tartar sauce was good too. Our server (Josh?) was very attentive, polite, friendly and quick. The menu isn't huge but I would come back if I'm in the area again. The Ice Plant location was historically St. Augustine's first power and ice complex. Now the building has been revitalized and has The Ice Plant and The St. Augustine Distillery. The St. Augustine Distillery is connected to The Ice Plant and is a great tour to check out right before heading to grab food at the restaurant. There are a variety of guided and self-guided tours. My spouse and I checked out the self-guided tour right before we grabbed dinner at The Ice Plant. The tour isn't particularly long but was filled with information. After the tour, we headed upstairs to the restaurant. The restaurant feels really spacious with its super tall ceilings. There was lots to look at reminding us of the previous use of the building. We ordered the hand cut fries, strawberry and beet salad, and the gochujang marinated pork chop. I also ordered a few of their drinks, each one featuring different types of ice to fit the drink. Honestly all the food and the drinks were so good, but the easy standout of the night for both my spouse and I were the pork chops. These might have been the best pork chops I've ever had in my life. The pork chops were incredibly tender and juicy, not dry at all. I was expecting it to be a little dry, as I feel like pork chop can sometimes get overcooked, but no. These were so juicy and tender. I asked our server how the pork chop was cooked. Our server said that the pork chops were cooked sous vide, which makes a lot of sense as to how they were so tender. I've already told my spouse if we are in the St. Augustine area again, I would make a special trip just to get these pork chops again, they were that good. I really enjoyed this restaurant.
