Listen. I've only ever written 1 review on Yelp before in my life. But the time has come to write my second one. So, here it goes: Laundromats suck. They take up way too much of your time and honestly, they're just as expensive as getting them professionally cleaned. So, I choose to have mine sent out. Happy Cleaners it was. First time I went, great. Folded perfectly, they used the detergent I brought. No problems at all. Fast forward to the 2nd time. Folded perfectly. All great. Until I went to put my laundry away and noticed my jeans just weren't there. My expensive, nice pair of jeans. Gone. So, I went back and was told it wasn't their responsibility so I was out the $ for the jeans. They offered me a free load, but they just didn't really care the jeans were gone. Fine. So, I hesitated the next time I brought in clothes. Nervous I was going to lose something again, I didn't know if it was worth it. Well, I'm lazy beyond lazy, so of course I brought it in. Went to put away my clothes yesterday and it seems my sports bra - gone! There are some articles of clothing that I might not even realize have been missing but aren't there. It's just extremely frustrating that a company doesn't take responsibility or ownership of losing customers clothing. As annoying as this is, I'll be doing my own laundry from now on. I'm so upset. There is a huge rip down the back of a dress I had dry cleaned. It's brand new. There was a "special" note attached to the dress maybe to indicate they'd ripped it? No one told me. No one offered to repair it. Although this business is incredibly close by I won't be going back. read more

I got some dry cleaning done here because they offer free delivery & pick up. While the prices were ok, I was bummed that they only accept cash or check (which they request to be made out to Cash). Also, they didn't give me back my laundry bags when they dropped off my clothes. read more

I usually go to a specific cleaners that I go to, but on this day I had decided to go to Happy Cleaners, which is only a few blocks away. All I was going to get was a zipper fixed on a pair of pants and had figured it would it be such a big deal. Upon walking in, there was no one at the counter. I must have waited about five minutes with no one coming to the counter. It did not bother me much. After the five minutes and saying "hello" out loud a few times, I realized there was only one guy working and he was in the back with his earphones in listening to music. This is obviously why he did not know I was there and I did find that a little rude. When he finally walked to the counter, he was not welcoming at all, he did not apologize for the wait and he seemed rather bored. Fine, whatever, he took my information and told me to come back the next day.The price to fix the zipper was 10 dollars which is a little pricey since I normally pay 6 or 7 dollars. When I came to pick up my stuff, the same guy was there, with his unwelcoming body language and bored face. He took my ticket and told me to come back later. I came back around 5, and the same guy was in the back on the phone. He saw me but still made me wait. When he decided to end his convo, he grabbed my garment and charged it, in a way as if I were almost annoying him lol. Overall they did a good job, and it is a nice clean place, but the customer service sucks and so do the prices a little. I would definitely not come back just to avoid this problem. read more

I had previously stated on yelp that I love this lady. Now I just like her a little. She's super friendly and the dry cleaning is great, but she is losing her reputation for good tailoring. At first her tailoring was generally spot on, if expensive; but now - now, the last two times I went in with nice pants for work which needed to be shortened, she (or the person to whom she sends tailoring) returned the pants too long AND uneven. When I brought the pants back to her, she remeasured my inseam, but she rounded off the number! NO NO NO. Not cool. I need the pants to reflect my leg, not the estimate of what my leg might be. Do not ever get your clothes altered here. Ever. I first took a beautiful dress I bought to get tailored. I told the woman who runs Happy Cleaners I needed it the next week for a wedding that was fast approaching. No problem she says. I go back a week later and she tells me she couldn't alter it because it was too complicated. Why didn't she call me in the middle of the week to tell me this? I do not know. I was so short on time that I bought a new, simple dress and asked her to do two simple things, take the bottom up about an inch, and tighten the fastener in the back. Color me surprised when I get the dress back, someone literally took scissors to the bottom of the Vera Wang gown, leaving an uneven and messy looking hem. Further, instead of just tightening the back, they moved a button to an off center portion of the dress, forcing me to use a safety pin on the dress. I have to wear the dress now because I have no time but am livid. Also, when you complain to the woman who works here, she says it's not her fault because she sends things away to be altered and can't help. I've learned my lesson and hope no one here makes the same mistake I did. read more

Damaged my clothing. I brought a nearly new, custom-made dress shirt in for dry cleaning. The cuff was destroyed by some machinery, torn and stained. They admitted that they had done it, but refused to replace it -- they offered $20, which was not even close to the price of the shirt. read more

This was the first time for me using this cleaners, and it will be my last. I had taken a black designer cardigan with thick white trim to the cleaners. The tag on the cardigan says "dry clean only", so me, trying to maintain the look of my very expensive designer cardigan, take it to the cleaners so it will be pristine. Well, that's not what happened AT ALL! My sweater is ruined! The black bled into the white trim and now the cardigan looks like a tie-dye piece of garbage. I would've been better off washing it by hand or in the laundry. I'm beyond upset and the lady didn't even offer an apology or a refund. This review is for the location at 182 5th Ave. Let me just say how happy I am to have had my cufflinks returned to me! I have had things go missing from Dry Cleaners in the past who claim to not know what I'm talking about "what no, there was nothing in the pocket!", but this was not the case last week with Happy Cleaners. My boyfriend left a pair of gold monogrammed cufflinks that have been in his family for 3 generations on his shirt before dropping it off. I thought there was NO way we would ever see them again, but figured it was worth a shot asking the woman at the front desk if she recalled seeing them. To my complete and utter surprise she was SO HONEST and returned the cufflinks to us. I couldn't believe it. "Oh yes", she said, and proceeded to open the drawer and search around to find the cufflinks that she took off his shirt when we brought it in. Amazing!!! I took my coat there to be cleaned, and when I got it back I'm pretty sure they didn't clean it. It was covered in lint. Gross. They overcharged me and my coat looked disgusting. When I dropped it off I also asked them if they could replace the clasps with toggles instead, which would be very easy. The woman said no. Really? If I had a sewing machine I could have probably done it, and I'm not a tailor. Forget this place. read more
