So I bring my $1700 Limited Rick Owens Bolan Banana Trousers to be cleaned here for the very first time ever after wearing them 3 times. They weren't really even dirty, just had a lot of lint on them, considering they're corduroy. Went to this place as it's basically on the same block as my apartment. I return back to pick them up and they have bleach stains on them. This lady had the audacity to lie and say "they were already like that" and for me to wear them with the zippers pulled down to hide the bigger stain. What??? I don't even own bleach. And why would I wear $1700 BLACK RICK PANTS around any bleach? These pants were worn 3 times. The lying annoyed me so bad. Yeah, I'm going to small claims court unfortunately. read more

If you want something Dun Rite, do it yourself, which is why I always do Barbie myself. I take her to the cleaners. And I'm also her fave of all her cleaners. If you know what I mean. Cool little cleaning service in the heart of Brooklyn which a lot of people in this neighbourhood used including both of our friends that live within a mile of here - so they must be doing something right. The cleaners I mean not the friends. The friends don't do a lot right. Ohhhhh. But yeah, great place. Lots of positive reviews as well. They're cute little spot and their facilities seem clean and efficient and they have a good little method down. I recommend them. Not cheap but not too expensive either especially by local standards. read more

Just moved to the hood and at the recommendation of my buddy and neighbor Ajay R., I appointed Dun-Rite as my dry-cleaner of choice and master handler of all things delicate and stained. Dropped of a silk top with a huge gob of honey smackdab in the middle of the boob region (thanks, Blue Ribbon fried chicken). Picked it up in 3 days. Easy like that. My new lady mentioned that it took 3 tries to get the stain out. Diligence and integrity - my favorite kind of dry-cleaners! For $6 bucks, I was out the door. Credit card minimum is $20 and their hours are somewhat weak (close at 7pm, I believe), but this is certainly my new spot. read more

They said hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but really hell hath no fury like a woman forced to redo her laundry on a Saturday afternoon because all her "freshly laundered" clothes smelled like they'd been left overnight in the hamper along with an entire football team's dirty uniforms. Being a lazy bum, I often resorted to the wash-and-fold service at Dun-Rite. They're slightly overpriced but super convenient for me. I often wonder about the way they weigh my laundry because from prior wash-and-fold experiences, my 2-week laundry load generally doesn't weigh as much, but minor detail... I was also willing to overlook the fact that my laundry never really came back smelling especially fresh. I thought maybe they were using one of those natural, fragrance-free detergents to cater to the Park Slope crowd. I also didn't mind that a couple times, I seemed to be missing a sock only to later find it inside the sleeve of a neatly folded shirt of the same load. As far as I was concerned, they never lost anything, seemed to be punctual, and they saved me from my least favorite chore. But today, the day I happened to have run out of fresh clothes to wear and was counting on the delivery of my freshly laundered clothes, they delivered a neatly folded moldy-smelling stack of clothes instead. So here we are, Dun-Rite Cleaners, at the end of our short and uneventful relationship, marked by the day you forced me to Febreeze the sh!t out of a sweater you claimed to have laundered for me at $1/lb. *dramatically walking away into the cold winter afternoon as a Taylor Swift song starts playing in the background* read more

I almost hesitate to review... lest I finally declare my long winter of inadequate dry cleaning services to be over. However, here's the run down on the first experience: 1. Shirts were ready when they said they would be ready. I know this doesn't seem like a big ask, but if you've ever tried to dry clean or launder and press in this neighborhood, you'd know what I mean. 2. Shirts that were ordered for DC were dry cleaned, and those for L&P were L&P'd. Again... not a big ask, but I guess most other places lack proper sorting capabilities. 3. No staples in my shirts!!! Thank god they seem to use a competent L&P service that uses a paper tag you can rip off easily. Amen. 4. L&P was decent. Still a few wrinkles at the bottom of the shirts but it's to be expected. The DC'd shirt looked proper. All wrinkles removed. 5. Seem like nice folks. They do the dry cleaning on site, but use an off site service for L&P. They charge a little more... 50-75c more on avg for L&P, and almost double the price for DC (my shirt cost $5.25), however, if you actually care about your clothing, it seems like they actually know what they're doing over here. read more

Although pricey with some items- this place delivers with the quality of their work! They steamed my wedding veil for under $5, speed buttons to my husband's pants ($2 a button), and have hemmed various pants. They usually have your items ready within 2 business days which is wonderful! I will continue to be customer as nothing beats quality work! read more

In the interest of full disclosure, I live really close to this place, so the convenience factor is huge for me. I also think they do a great job and are some of the nicest people ever. So friendly and kind, and on the weekends their young kids come in to help "run" the place. It's hilarious. I have never had the privilege of underpaying for dry cleaning services, so when people say this place (or that place) is overpriced, I really don't know what that means. Dry cleaning is expensive, tailoring is expensive, having someone do your laundry for you is expensive. If you want a job done well, you're going to pay for it. That makes sense to me, but I've been called weird before. In terms of track record, I hate to even mention this for fear that I'm going to jinx myself, but I have not had any issues here yet (knocks on wood) and have been coming for a while. I have only had my dry cleaning done here, but so far, so good. I would recommend this place without hesitation. read more

Nice people but overpriced and not accurate. I had a hem that was starting to come apart on a simple mini skirt. It was repaired for $12, when I have had similar jobs done for $6. Not only that but my boyfriend had a pair of pants hemmed with Dun-Rite. It cost him almost $20 and the pants were still too long (by at least six inches!). When he took them back to point out their mistake and get them to fix their mistake they were very hesitant. The result: The same pair of pants was hemmed TWICE and they are STILL too long....by at least two whole inches. We are now in search of a different tailor who can do the job correctly the first time. read more

I took a leather jacket to be repaired (a spiff for sales that cannot be replaced). The jacket was split along the seam on the left forearm and the front pockets were torn up. The repair to the sleeve and pockets is perfect, and the jacket was ready on time. I'm glad I took the time to read a "Yelp" review that led me to this place. read more

This dry-cleaner, if you can call it such, is absolutely terrible. I work in the medical field and I went to this place to get my white coat cleaned specifically by a dry cleaner (because conventional washing was just not cutting it anymore). After paying $10 (which is almost twice what I normally pay) I was disappointed that my white coat looked exactly the same with the same stains. I even asked "did you even wash this?" To which she said she didn't dry clean it, then said she did, then said she washed and dry cleaned it. I pointed out all the stains to her and her response blew me away. She said "you need to keep your white coat clean at work". I was profoundly stunned by this rude comment. I then asked her to dry clean it again and she said no. I'm sum do not go here. In an earlier review, I went on a rant because of an issue with a couple of dress shirts; however, to be fair this place is exactly what you would want your neighborhood cleaners/laundry to be. The owners learn who their customers are and are always ready for you once they know you. The work they do on premises-dry cleaning and tailoring-is well done and always on time. The laundry service is well done also--always neatly folded and packed inside a plastic bag within your own laundry bag. The laundering of shirts is usually well done too. I guess over many years of using an establishment, you have to expect to lose a shirt every now and then. The family that owns and runs this place is delightful. They are courteous and friendly and they always call you by name. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I've been going here for dry cleaning and tailoring for close 5 or 6 years now at least, and have only ever had one problem... which they took care of and gave me free dry cleaning to make up for the mistake. Super service. A little expensive but their in the middle of the priciest neighborhood around, I'm sure their rent is higher than people think. read more

This is the closest tailor to my house, so I have gone several times to have pants hemmed. It's simple enough and they are overpriced, but convenience is worth something. I just picked up 2 pairs of pants...both were off by several inches. I'm not at all picky, but they have now done a poor job on 5 of the last 7 pair of slacks/jeans I have dropped off. I have brought multiple items of clothing here to get altered. Including a dress that one other dry cleaner's did not fix correctly, and another told me it was impossible to fix. Dun Rite did an AMAZING job with the dress - it's perfect. They have also tailored multiple pants (hem and taking in width in pant legs). I would go for them for dry cleaning more often if they were a little closer, but definitely worth going out of the way for tailoring. read more
