A nice Mom & Pop shop, in an age where they're dwindling down to near none, and nearly EVERYTHING is cold, absent and corporate, it's SO nice to have that old time feeling of your trusty neighborhood store, where you know your cleaner and tailor, and they know you. I've been doing all my dry cleaning here for coming up on three years, designer stuff, vintage, dress shirts, suits, etc. They do an exceptional job on it all. They've never messed up one single thing for me, and have completely exceeded my expectations on de-pilling an old vintage wool jacket, or stain removal on old runway samples, etc... Not to sound obnoxious about clothes but they really are great! I haven't had anything tailored here but I see loads of others who do, I bet that's great too. Will keep coming here as long as I can. Consider resurrecting clothing that is in tatters or doesn't fit right with the Golden Touch tailor. This guy does amazing work! Case in point, I brought in my FAVORITE jacket recently. I had ripped this jacket TO SHREDS, it had fully THREE holes in the arm. However, I simply COULD NOT part with this jacket as it is very unique and there's no way I'd find any jacket like It. I could not believe HOW NICE the repair job was on this garment. I mean, I didn't even know this was possible -- see my pics. Totally repaired and reinforced, practically invisible too I also brought in a super cute pair of Joe's Jeans that I got from Nordstroms Rack that were ridiculously long. I'm now checking my closet for anything else I could get worked on -- you should too! True I can't go out bc we're all in quarantine now but one day when we all can leave the house again I will be lookin good thanks to Golden Touch! read more

I needed alterations on clothes I bought a year ago (professional attire - high end brands - Barney, theory, all saints, etc). I am a front line provider and Psych NP in training I suppose during this time I gained some weight. I bought a significant about of clothing that no longer fit!! Everyone needs their local dry cleaner and tailor, and out of all of the ones in Park Slope, this is my preferred shop! Tailoring: I've only gotten pants hemmed, but they do a good job. Unless you want a standard break on your pant, you need to tell/show them where exactly to hem when you're in the fitting room. They also match the hemming threads pretty well. Dry Cleaning: What I like about this place is that all the cleaning is done in house. At least that's what they say, and they have equipment you can see in the back of the store, so this gives me piece of mind that my clothes wont go missing. They've always done a good job, and when I've had noticeable stains to point out, they marked them! I would find them gone when I picked them up! Pricing: Hasn't seemed too expensive, but not "cheap" either. It's dry cleaning, so in my opinion it's fair for their service. (Although when there's a Groupon deal for somewhere else I will cheat on them, I don't have a money tree!) Sadly I now have to schlepp across the Slope to get here, but it's worth it. read more

Not as overpriced as other area dry cleaners, conveniently located, and quick turnaround. But those are the last kind words I have for this business. This place was the last straw for me. I give up on dry cleaning. It's terrible for the environment and not particularly kind to my wallet either. They shrunk one of my sweaters (lovely orange A.P.C. that I thankfully unearthed at Beacon's Closet for $15). And then had the gall to act as if nothing was the matter. I had to hold up the now toddler-sized sweater to my torso to demonstrate that there was, in fact, a PROBLEM. Suddenly, their English deteriorates.... but they offer to "fix" the sweater for "free" (no charge for their ineffectual atonement, but no reimbursement or the cost of the cleaning nor did they offer to replace the sweater). So I let them attempt to fix the sweater. No improvement, still no reimbursement for their damaging service! I tried reason, I tried raising my voice. This review is my last attempt at vengeance. What I would like to know is, how the heck does a 60% cotton, certified pre-owned (and I would assume, previously washed or dry-cleaned) sweater shrink during the dry-cleaning process? I subjected the rest of my garments to careful scrutiny after this incident and frankly, I suspect that they merely steamed my silk blouses... they just don't smell "clean" enough. I'm hand washing all my delicate items from now on.... read more

This review is for alterations. Came here to get my Zara dress taken in on top since I'm a pear-shaped. The man at the sewing machine knows his stuff - he did a great job! My only complaint is that the alterations came out to 40 dollars for my 89 dollar dress. I kind of understand the price because he had to readjust the side zipper, but still feel it was a bit much. Also got pants shortened for 9 dollars. Once again they did a great job, and in this case I felt the price was fair. read more

I didn't have a good experience with the tailer. He shortened the sleeves of two new shirts WAY too short (I can't wear them now) and replaced a zipper on an expensive coat with an ugly clunky zipper. The cleaners are excellent though. read more

Incompetence doesn't even begin to describe Golden Touch Cleaners and their tailor who oversees alterations. I had called ahead for alterations needed for a bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding which had a rather complicated hem to shorten (a lot of fabric to be cut). After more than an hour with the tailor who seemed to have measured me effectively, I left the deposit for half of the work and we agreed that it would be ready the morning before I departed. You can imagine my shock (and quite frankly anger) when I arrived the morning before my departure with the dress NOT EVEN touched - in the same state as when I left it a week earlier. When I asked why no one had gotten in touch, all I was told was "Sorry." Now I'm stuck with a dress less than 24 hours before a wedding that I will need to somehow hem in time. Stay far, far away... what a terribly managed business and poor customer service. read more

I love this place. They get it right every time. The prices are good for the area and the employees are all really nice. On my first visit, when they found out I was a new customer, they actually cheered. "Yay!" with a few claps. I'm not kidding. It's also right by the B,Q so it's easy to pick up your items after work. Their hours are also really good. I needed to pick up some items on a Saturday and I was concerned they would be closing around 1 or 2; Nope, they close at 6pm on Saturdays. Terrible experience! They lost my suit and a pair of trousers. I prepaid for the alterations, and was expecting to receive them in a few days. I returned in a week, and they initially said they needed a couple of weeks to look for the clothes! When I returned, they claimed that the clothes were delivered. I know our doormen well and asked them, and they didn't receive anything. I went back and asked at the store, and they were rude, and flatly refused to reimburse anything (including even the charge for alterations!). In fact they dared us to call the cops or anyone else. I had the worst experience with these people. I dropped off a down coat to be dry cleaned. Ms. Kim examined the coat for damages, found none, and then wrote up a pick up ticket for me. Right after I picked it up, I discovered that the zipper was broken. I took it back immediately. When I walked in, Ms. Kim ignored me and refused to make eye contact, although I was standing right in front of her, and the store only had one other customer who was being helped by another staff member. I finally got her attention and showed her the broken zipper. She was not the least bit surprised. I asked her to fix or replace the zipper. She said no because it was an old coat & that the zipper had worn out and could not be fixed. According to her it wasn't their fault it had broken; it had broken because it was old. I replied that it was a high-end coat that was only a couple of months old. She looked flustered then said that I must have brought the coat in with the zipper already broken. I told her that was not true, and that she had examined the coat and not found anything wrong with it. She said that she had forgotten to examine the coat before taking it from me. Therefore she had missed the broken zipper. I said that was not true, and continued to insist that she replace the zipper. She went to the back of the store and returned with an older Korean man. He, too, insisted that the coat was old, which was why the zipper was broken. I told him it was not old and that I still had the receipt from the purchase of the coat in November. He then told me to ask the manufacturer to replace the coat for me! I refused. I said that since my coat had been damaged while under their care, I wanted them to do the right thing and replace it. He nastily said, "No" and turned his back & walked away from me. Ms. Kim also kept repeating that they would not repair my coat. I was really upset & kept insisting that they fix the coat. Finally, Ms. Kim, in a very rude and dismissive way, said she'd try to fix it and get back to me in a few WEEKS to let me know the status of the coat. She asked me to write down my phone number for her, which I did. I said I did not want to wait a few weeks and insisted that she call me back in 4 days. She never called. So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In the complaint I said that I wanted them to either replace the zipper with a new one, or pay me the replacement cost of the coat, which was over $410. Within 10 days, the BBB contacted me to let me know that they had replaced the zipper on the coat. If it had not been for BBB, I have no doubt that these people would have never had the decency to replace the zipper, although they have a tailor who does alterations on-site. Their business model seems to be one of telling the customer to go to hell after they've destroyed your property. These people are liars and treat their customers like crap. I wouldn't even give them one star as a rating, but that's the lowest Yelp allows me to give. Never again. read more

Having lived, two blocks walking distance from golden touch cleaners. For 20 + years I always used them for all my suit's and casual clothing. They have the best group of worker's, funny, friendly knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Most notably ( George ) he remember's everyone's name and has worked in many capacities for countless years... When I moved in 2012. I knew I would miss several things from my old neighborhood, Golden Touch Cleaners , was at the top of my list. I now live in Bed Stuy. When I relocated I inquired as to where I might go to find something relatively comparable ? I tried a few places here and there. Nothing seemed to measure up. So now I make the trip, sometimes even via bike etc... I was there just yesterday, and it was exactly the same. I so pleased with them, and their service. It's not just because I never have to clean my clothes myself either. They have always been very friendly and have done excellent work. Their alterations are very well done and very well priced in my opinion. Same thing goes for their dry cleaning and "wash and fold" service. The hacks at this cleaners returned my Hugo Boss dress shirt with a big hole in the elbow. The woman at the counter refused to pay even part of the cost for a replacement shirt, even though the error was 100% theirs, trying instead to say that the shirt was old (it was not). Very friendly, professional, and fun loving staff who go above and beyond to ensure that you receive the best results. Awful dry cleaner. They ruined several sweaters and blouses and never apologized, never admitted any fault, always claimed that was how it had been before. They lost a shirt, and denied it even existed--when I pointed to it on their receipt they said they'd made a mistake typing it in. Do not go here! read more

Best I've found in the neighborhood for laundering/pressing of dress shirts.

They are AWFUL. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOTHES HERE _ PARTICULARLY NOT ANYTHING REMOTELY EXPENSIVE. They will ruin your clothes and then look you in the face and lie. My gorgeous indigo Dries Van Noten hand blocked scarf with tassels along the edges came back faded beyond belief and with the tassels along one edge completely tangled and the tassels along the second edge literally cut off. The tassels on the second edge had clearly been tangled beyond recognition and they had simply cut off them off - they didn't even try to hem it or anything - you could see the raw edge and hanging threads. They told me that they had gotten it like that from me AND, get this, that there were never any tassels on the second side of the scarf. WHAT?!?!?! I had receipts and a picture of the scarf from the online store where I had bought it that clearly showed the color and tassels along the edges. They flatly refused replace the scarf, to compensate me in any way, or even acknowledge what they had done. They also took a beautiful wool sweater and shrunk it to kid sized. It literally couldn't even fit my 8 year old daughter. Again they refused to admit that they had done this and simply looked at me blankly and refused to reimburse me.
