I'm very upset with this place. They lost my favorite sweater. I didn't notice until I got home. I had brought six items (as can be proven by the receipt) and received five back. When I told the owner this he said he usually counts the hangers and doesn't lose anything, so there's nothing he can do, even though he absolutely lost it. This sweater was a gift and meant a lot to me as well (plus it was cashmere), and he really couldn't care less. Didn't even offer me compensation for the dry clean price. Don't go here unless you want to risk losing your clothes and not even get some empathy in return. Would rate zero stars if I could. read more

I brought a coat here that was retailed at $475. There was a small spot where I wasn't sure if I had discolored it. The owner at the front said that it may be discolored, or may be leftover stain so they'll see what they can do. When I came to pick it up, not only was it confirmed that I had, in fact, discolored one spot, but the dry cleaners had discolored the rest of the coat as well, leaving huge marks of white throughout an otherwise indigo blue coat :( The owner and I agreed on a repayment of $300, but when I came back the next day to pick up the check, he lowered the repayment to $200. He said that his wife told him it was worth even less than that :( this coat is so special to me and cannot be replaced. They also lost the belt of the coat! I feel disregarded in a neighborhood where I otherwise feel so welcome and taken care of. Ruining a coat is one thing, coming to an agreement and then going back on your word is another. The latter is much harder to get past. read more

My review is a bit of a unique one. I've been going to Parkside Cleaners for many years. I've trusted them with my dry cleaning and they've also tailored many pairs of pants for me. But that is not why I'm writing my review. My son has a treasured stuffed dog that one morning he brought to me. He was in tears showing me a little hole that had opened up in his doggy's neck. I knew this was a dire situation. I told him I'd take care of it and his doggy would be good as new by the time he got back from school. I walked over to Parkside Cleaners and showed them the injured stuffed doggy. He completely understood, as his daughter also has a treasured stuffed friend. He took the dog and said he'd fix him right up. When I got back to the neighborhood from work, I immediately went into PC. I asked him if he managed to fix the little guy. He brought him to me and showed me the repair. Amazing! One happy little boy coming right up. Here's the kicker: When I asked him what I owed him he said, "No charge." Now THAT'S amazing. read more

I rarely need dry cleaning or tailoring services, but a clasp on one of my higher quality sports bras had ripped off so I decided to have it repaired. I visited 2 different cleaners who couldn't fix the clasp before finding Parkside Cleaners. Within a few short minutes, a new clasp was on and looked great. I went there due to convenience. I hadn't been there before. I did not get my clothes when promised, but man on duty said the boiler broke down. He'd say, come back at this time, and the garment wasn't ready. When I came back, the employee was just ironing the garments. I had to wait. A sport coat needed two new buttons. When I came to get it, same man said, I don't have the right buttons. You'll need to go buy some. He directed me to a notions shop, and after a while, found acceptable buttons for $6. I brought these back to the cleaner, and at least he didn't charge me for sewing them on, when I came back the next day, but did charge for the cleaning. If I can give this play 0 stars, I would. Not sure how or why this place has many great reviews, but they're horrible. I took an olive shirt to Parkside cleaners to get a stain taken out. When I realized it had been over a week and I never received a call to pick up my shirt, I decided to go in to see for myself. I didn't get the man's name, but he's an Asian guy who handles the transactions and is at the front desk. He's the guy I gave my shirt to and took my information down prior to me coming back to pick up my shirt. Anyway, I gave him my ticket and he brings back my shirt with the stain still in it. I look at him and he looks at me and he says, "yea, we couldn't get the stain out." I'm like okay, well how come you didn't contact me to let me know? He ignores my question and I go to pick my shirt up and he SNATCHES IT BACK OUT OF MY HAND and tells me, "that would be $12." Now, I'm not just annoyed, I am livid. I feel disrespected because 1. you didnt even have the courtesy to let me know my shirt couldn't be cleaned. 2. you snatch the shirt out of my hand and 3. you then tell me I have to pay for a shirt you couldn't clean????? I ask him, "why are you still charging me if you didn't clean it?" He starts yelling at me and his demeanor looks like he really didn't give a F about me as a customer. He started to get real nasty and making a face and in a threatening manner he states, "we did clean it, it just wasn't to your satisfaction. now you're not getting the shirt unless you pay for the service." I'm just looking in disbelief because I really never have dealt with someone in customer service as disrespectful as this. I decided to give this place a try because of the convenience (I live in the neighborhood) and because of the 4/5 star average this place of business seemed to have. The black dress I brought in recently cost almost $10 to dry clean which is even more than I get charged for several pounds of drop-off laundry, but perhaps that's just standard. Parkside is my go-to in my neighborhood for a cleaners. I went here based on the Yelp reviews and wasn't disappointed. As others have noted it's cash only but if you're getting only a shirt done every once in awhile that's not a big deal. Nice gentleman at the counter took my stuff, gave me a date, and my ticket. I came back when the item was supposed to be ready and it was. Shirt looks great and they got the oil stain it had out. I don't ask much from my cleaners but these guys deliver. I will definitely be using them for the foreseeable future even though I have more convenient spots by me. I'd rather pay for reliability. read more

I've been living in the area since 2017, and been here regularly for about that long whenever I needed something drycleaner - weirdly it happens more often as I get older! Dude's amazing, gets things done. Sometimes (rarely) here are delays but he's always apologetic about it and does his best to accommodate when it does happen, so I feel like he's taking it seriously regardless. Every month or so I dump a bunch of my sweaters and shirts and just come back in four days to have them done. More, he also does stitching - I've gotten buttons and tears fixed. The biggest thing was when my dog's harness had a tear. He took it and fixed it within the hour, for free! Seriously cool guy and great service, will keep going. read more

Reliable, affordable, friendly neighborhood cleaner! Conveniently located across the street from the Q train. Once lost a button from one of my coats, they still had it 2 weeks later and when I stopped by to retrieve it, he sewed it on for me! He's very honest about what won't survive the machine, which I find rare in the industry, and he gave me tips on how to hand wash the item. Be advised of holidays closures and they don't stay open past 7! read more

Similar to the cleaners closer to my apartment on Flatbush, Parkside is a cash-only establishment. In contrast to the cleaners by my apartment, Parkside has an ATM, doesn't ask you for a deposit (what the what? is this a KFC with the bullet proof glass or something?), and the people are actually personable and helpful. I brought in my down comforter to be cleaned which ran me $40 for a full/queen sized. The blanket looks to be in good shape, nice and bright! There were some very old stains on it that the cleaner apologized for not being able to remove and pointed out to me, which I appreciated even though I hadn't brought it in for spot treatment (I know those puppies are set unfortunately!), just a regularly cleaning. They packaged the blanket up really well, so that it would have been feasible for me to carry it home even if I hadn't brought my own giant bag. I have a dry cleaner in the city that I am in absolute love with and to which I will continue to bring most of my cleaning, but I'm glad to have a place nearby in case I need to do some non-delicate pieces or something I can't truck into Manhattan, like a giant blanket! read more

If I could I would give them 0/5 stars! These guys are so unprofessional. They told me that my items would be done by 12, because I had an appointment. I went in at 12:15 and nothing was done and I was asked to wait 30 more minutes. When I went in AGAIN at 1 I still had to wait another ten minutes AND one of my scarves wasn't done. NOW I have to go in AGAIN to pick that up. Not only can they not get anything done on time they charge WAY too much! My peacoat cost 16.75 to clean. In what universe is that ever possible, it's not even a long coat either! These guys are HORRIBLE and charge WAY too much for a mediocre job. Avoid like the plague. read more

Yes, the owner and employees are super nice, but they do a pretty poor job. I've had to get items dry-cleaned again at other places multiple times. They've pressed delicate silk blouses and pants leaving deep creases. The blatantly miss spots that need to be cleaned.
