Do not go here. This is the worst place. I was here last year and had pants altered and they did a terrible job, and I should've come back and said that they were all punchy and puckered, but I just blew it off. I thought I would give them another chance to do some dry cleaning and while I was there, the owner pointed out that one of my sweaters that I was having cleaned had holes in it that she said that she would fix. I had the sweater dry cleaned also. I hadn't worn it for about three weeks after picking it up, and I took it out to wear today, and noticed that all of the holes were still there. I brought it back, and the owner said that it probably got holes in the last couple weeks. Then she said she had never said she was going to fix the holes. And then she said that I hadn't been there for four months five months. Maybe it was last year. That is insane. It was about three weeks ago. She charged me $25 and she did nothing. She cleaned it and didn't mend the holes that she had initially pointed out. She refused to fix it. She denied that she had even said she would fix the holes. She was absolutely 100% not sorry in anyway, and she started waving her hand in my face and telling me there's nothing I could say to her and to go away. I noticed she was extremely rude before, but this was next level. Rudeness is one thing but charging for services that aren't provided is another! Not to mention making up crazy stories about this is the kind of fabric that gets holes, just grasping for straws and generally being a terrible business owner. It's unbelievable to me that I paid her $47 to dry clean two things and men's something and all I got back was a shirt that was dry cleaning the sweater that was dry cleaned and no mending that I paid for. Why did I even give her another chance? The pants that she took in for me were absolutely unprofessionally done, completely puckered up and down all along the seams and uneven. This is a terrible business. And I'm sorry to say this because I support local businesses. It's not great to do a terrible job but at least try not to be rude. When you're both rude and completely incompetent how are you gonna stay in business? read more

Ruined my wedding dress after I dropped it to get dry cleaned. When I brought it to the owner, she was so rude and defensive and told me it's "my problem" and to get out. I'm in shock. I have been a longtime customer but will never ever go back. Not only did she ruin my dress but she made me cry. Horrible horrible. I hope this review saves someone else. read more

I went with my friend to collect her tailored pants and she wasn't even allowed to try them on before being asked to leave. When we had a chance to check the work later we saw that the seams were squiggly. The trousers were the right length but the neatness and customer service was appalling. During a previous visit my friend was told to lose weight rather than having her pants let out - totally unacceptable. I can't speak to the laundry service but do not come here for alterations. read more

Very kind and respectful employees, unlike some other laundry places in the area. Prices are very reasonable compared to other Park Slope laundromats. This place is fine if you live near by and can come back multiple times to get your laundry. There is only one person who can tally up prices & take credit cards so if he isn't here you're stuck waiting around (if you don't live in the area) or coming back two-three times in a day. I dropped a load of dry cleaning off last Thursday (today is Wednesday) before I moved out of the neighborhood. I came to pick it up, the credit card guy is not here, so I asked how much so I could get cash, it wasn't even "organized or totaled" so I am stuck waiting for nearly 45 minutes until this man comes back. Or driving 14 blocks back home and coming back up later and hoping he's here again. Never using again. read more

I took my laundry in a couple of months ago because I was having a busy weekend & needed the time to do other things. I expected it to be expensive but was willing to pay to have the convenience. Wow, was I wrong. They are awesome, fast and CHEAP!! I figured out its only $2 more to take my laundry in than it is to go to a laundromat and do it myself. This is now my local laundry and they deliver fantastic results and customer service EVERY time. They are well priced, helpful and prompt. I even had a pocket added to a winter cape the other day. They went above and beyond to make it perfectly fit into the garment. Even matching the color, trim and adding a clasp and dry cleaning the whole thing for $25. These guys are family run and fantastic, I would recommend them to anyone. read more

When I first moved to the neighborhood I walked up and down 7th to find the best laundry spot. I wanted to find somewhere that would deliver, hang dry, and do laundry onsite, and send out for dry cleaning. United is it!! I met Henry, the friendly owner. They pay attention to what needs to be hang dried, hag dried and pressed, or dry cleaned. I thought I would miss having a washer/ dryer at home, but not at all! The prices are reasonable and they do a great job. They even can use detergent you choose if you give it to them. Really fantastic!! NEVER COMING BACK HERE! They told me my clothes would be the ready the next day and then they are not ready AND lost a pair of my pants and told me "sorry, it's just a pair of pants." Absolutely horrible customer service and they proceeded to charge me MORE than the previous time I was here saying that each visit has "special conditions." the first time i went here, they lost my laundry bag. they handed it back to me in a laundry bag that was not mine. no amount of arguing could convince them that i had in fact brought my laundry in a large, lime green sack. after about 20 minutes of arguing, i finally got them to let me in the back to look myself. in less than 1 minute, i found my laundry bag thrown in a corner. what happened to whoever's laundry was in that bag, i do not know. good luck to you, whoever you are read more

I've been going there weekly for their drop off laundry service for over three years and I can't say enough good things about this place. They are friendly, they do a great job with wash and fold, and their prices are cheaper than anyone else around. Best of all, they're open until 8 Monday through Saturday, which is really helpful when I get out of work late. Highly recommended. read more

I can't express how much i hate this place. They lost a 35 lb bag of my laundry and offered no explanation. They did however not cooperate with the police, my renter's insurance, or us in trying to make the best of the situation. THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE!!!! I've been going to United Laundry for 3 years and recently brought in my beautiful white linen with silk trim duvet cover from Pottery Barn to get it dry cleaned. I got it back with the silk trim turned YELLOW. When I went back in to show and ask them what happened, they accused me of not remembering what it originally looked like, that I should have brought it back in earlier, that it was originally like that, and that it wasn't their fault but instead it was the material/makers fault. Each time they changed their excuse I grew more and more frustrated and they were HORRIBLE to me about it- the woman was practically laughing at me. When I asked if they could tailor the trim off bc I no longer liked it and wouldn't use it with the yellow, they told me it would cost $30 and that they wouldn't cover it. Horrible costumer service, horrible business owners, and just not ok!!! They would rather lose a 3 yr costumer than chalk up the $30 to make it right. read more

Yes, they are cheap and nice. Until they lose your clothes. We had been going to United loyally for a year when we dropped off a 32 pound bag of all of our clothing. We were washing all of our winter clothes to put them away and all of our summer stuff to take out of storage. Plus work clothing We went back a week later to pick it up with our dry cleaning and they just said, "it's not here". So we went back the next day. They told us they leave the heavy bags next to the door so that they don't have to carry it and someone must have walked by the open door and stolen it. THEN they refused to tell us the name of the owner and handed $200 and said good luck. Luckily our renter's insurance covered it, with a $500 deductible, but when the police called the place to complete the police report the manager said, it wasn't stolen, it was lost. So the police refused to give us a stolen property report. It was a nightmare and they were so rude and self serving throughout the whole thing. read more
