Every week I drop off around 50 lbs of laundry for me and my family. GLC has our clothes washed, folded, and ready within 24 hrs, and it is highly affordable ($1/lb when you pay in cash upfront). I can share no higher praise than saying that visiting Grandma Laundry Corner really is like visiting your favorite grandma's house (where grandma does your laundry for you). I have been bringing drop off laundry here for about a year - it's not especially close to my apartment but I come anyway for the entirely fair prices ($1 per pound if you pay in cash when you drop off) and speedy & thoughtful service. Even at their busiest times my laundry is usually ready within 24 hours (although I also try to be thoughtful and not tell them my laundry is a rush unless I really need it ASAP! Let other customers have their turn, ya know?) and they are happy to store your cart for you if you ask nicely. FYI: They take things like special detergent requests seriously - I always ask for "free & clear" aka no products with scents because I don't like dryer sheets. This can be very important for people who have allergies (I am not one). One time they accidentally did my laundry with regular, scented detergent and they made sure to call me, leave a message (I was in a work meeting), and call me again a few hours later to make sure I knew not to use the clothes in case I did have an allergy. They apologized profusely and offered to re-do the laundry immediately, which I said no to because the scent isn't a problem for me but I was impressed by their diligence, concern, and conscientiousness. They also offer pick up & delivery services I think, but I haven't used that because I enjoy visiting them in person and saying hello! Seriously, bring your business here - and treat them like the treasure that the best grandmas are. read more

Grandma's Laundry is great! We recently moved (back) into the neighborhood, and after unpacking for what seemed to be weeks we acquired a mountain of laundry - sheets, towels, bathmats, and clothes. There is a laundry in our apartment complex (in the building behind ours), but with so much laundry and with the weather turning cold and snowy we were feeling overwhelmed, so I searched and found Grandma's. Rawl is wonderful! All of our belongings were returned to us in less than 48 hours (I was amazed), and they were nicely folded in plastic bags which were then put in the bags we sent the clothes in. I actually asked for a pick up this morning and then called them because I had an emergency; he changed the pick up time to accommodate me. Wonderful! I will never feel badly about being the tiniest bit lazy and calling them instead. read more

I've never done a pickup laundry service before, so I was a little hesitant to try anyone, but the reviews for Grandma gave me all the feels that it would be a good spot. They aren't wrong - Grandma's is the BEST! They're SO nice on the phone, nice in person, and very accommodating (when they can be - don't expect pickup Sat and drop off Sunday as weekends are the busiest time, so like, be cool). Our clothes smell delish and everything is so beautifully folded you don't even want to touch it! My husband even yelled at me when the pile almost fell over while we were putting everything away - "Don't mess up that nice folded laundry, you!" Pricing is extremely reasonable. EDIT: thank you Rawle for making sure I got my comforter cover back! It was a rough week with my phone going out of service but I called him through my roommate's phone and he made sure to call frequently to make sure I'm updated, and walked over my cover to my apt in the evening so I could sleep with all of my sheets. Added a star for that :) -- I'd like to start off by saying I agree with other reviewers that they have great customer service, but I wouldn't say I had the best overall experience. I wanted to give wash and fold service a try because my building's laundry machines are not that great and cost me money anyway. I didn't realize that pick-up/drop-off services are $35 minimum, so if you have a larger load for more than one person I'd recommend using that service, but as just one individual, it's probably not worth the cost. Because it's my first time though and there was a misunderstanding, they gave me a slight discount (still more than dropping off yourself) and let me know if I drop off my laundry next time it'd be cheaper. They did a great wash and fold, and packed it neatly in a plastic bag - I was extremely pleased with how clean and pristine everything was! However, they lost my comforter cover (which isn't like a sock or a small shirt... not sure how that could've gotten mixed up as my fitted sheet and pillow cases did come back). I'm sure it's a one-off case but, considering the price AND they lost a pricey item of mine, not sure I'll end up going back. read more

The absolute best laundry spot in the neighborhood. The care, attention and quality with which they clean your laundry is truly exceptional. Everything is sorted correctly, folded nicely, and unlike other laundromats, it doesn't feel like your clothes have been boiled in a steaming cauldron before returning. The only negative (and it's one I'm more than willing to overlook) is that they don't have a particularly logical scheduling service. They seem be always delivering and never delivering at the same time - if you need a pickup/dropoff and they say 20 minutes, you might end up waiting an hour. read more

I've used Grandma's a couple of times and it's usually pretty great. The pick up/drop off is so convenient and the guy who does it is the nicest guy! Though not usually a problem they did shrink basically ALL my clothes (including some rather expensive items) last time I had sent out to them. Obviously this is the risk you take when you send out your clothes but since it hadn't happened the first couple times they had done my clothes I was really upset about it. Also found that sometimes not everything comes back, I do usually send a LOT (like HUGE) bags of clothes to them and they have never lost any of my clothes (at least I don't think so) but I did loose basically all of my towels. Which is really sad because I loved those towels. Just make sure you keep track of everything you are giving them so you know if they lost it. I haven't spoken to anyone here though about my lost items because I realized waaaay too late that I didn't get my towels back. read more

The service is wonderful, the people are kind, and there is just a general good feeling about the place. And, of course, my laundry comes back sparkling clean and folded ever-so-nicely. Used their delivery service when I first moved to the area. It was a bit too pricey and they werent always super timley with pick up and drop off times. Had to call on multiple times to ask if they were coming. Would be more okay with paying more if I knew the times I was given they would show up in. Not worth it if you have to wait and guess. I'm a very loyal customer, and was excited to find a local laundry service that does pick up/drop off. I believe in supporting local business so I was willing to overlook them often overlooking me as a customer (not being clear on time frames, delivery, price, etc). The last straw was at the end of last year I got my laundry back and the mesh bag I put my intimates in was missing. I called to ask about it and was told he'd get back to me. I called back a few times to inquire, and kept being told he'd have to look into it. Fast forward to this month. I was out of town most of January, so when I returned I called to inquire again about my belongings and schedule laundry service. I told him I wasn't upset and would still use their business, but that I wanted to resolve the issue. Pick up was made. Two days later I hadn't heard anything from them so I called to inquire when my laundry would be complete and ask about my missing belongings. I was told it was very busy and my laundry would be complete Monday, and I agreed though I specified I had to leave for work by 4pm. He said he also needed to look for security footage from the last time my laundry was completed and see what happened. He chastised me for not calling back sooner, and I set him right clarifying that it's his job to be sure his business follows up on errors they've made. Monday came and went and I had no laundry. I called AGAIN to inquire only to be told my laundry was complete the day before and he forgot about me. Then he laughed at me. At this point it was clear to me that my business means nothing to them, and that I wasn't going to get my belongings back. I explained my frustration that I could be so disregarded as a customer, and that laughing at my concerns was a terrible way to conduct business. He said he could have my laundry to me within the hour and I reminded him that when we had spoke I told him I had to leave by 4 PM and that it was 4 PM he said that he would have it to me before I got home from work at 9 PM. When I arrived home at 9 PM I still had no laundry so I called again to inquire; at this point he agreed to schedule the delivery at that time. I of course made sure to check for my lingerie bag before the delivery person left and come to find that they have again removed my belongings from the lingerie bag to launder them which defeats the purpose of the lingerie bag. When I asked the gentleman delivering the laundry about my previously missing belongings he said he didn't know anything about it. Today I called yet again to inquire about my missing belongings as it is clear that they have no intention of actually resolving this issue by themselves. I was told that my items were removed from the lingerie bag, laundered, and returned to me without the mesh lingerie bag. When I disagreed with this assertion I was told that he would get me a new lingerie bag tomorrow and then promptly hung up on. I am not holding any hope that this promise will be completed as they have failed repeatedly to fix their mistake. Use their services at your own risk. read more

I tried a number of different pick up/drop off places when I moved to the neighborhood earlier this year ― local businesses and some of the bigger Brooklyn-wide/NYC-wide services. After my first experience with Grandma, I knew I had found my spot and have been using them regularly ever since. It could not be easier: Call Grandma for a pickup, bring your bag(s) of clothes downstairs when they call you, and a day or two later you'll get a text message telling you that your clothes are done and are on their way. All of my clothes come back perfectly pressed and smelling great each and every time, and the instructions I include in my bags are always followed. On top of all of this, they have the best customer service and astonishingly reasonable pricing. The first time I ever called Grandma Laundry Corner, I had never used a laundry service before and told them I only had about 5-10 lbs of laundry. The man on the phone told me that they would come if I wanted, but I should know that it wasn't worth paying for that small amount of laundry ― if I had 35 lbs for them, I would get way more bang for my buck. I was surprised by his honesty and appreciated the tip. Sure enough, a few weeks later, I had accumulated enough laundry and reached back out. I have yet to experience the same fairness, honesty, and high level of customer service from another business. read more
