So pleasantly surprised by this place. It's tiny but seems to be family owned and a common restaurant for locals in Madison park area where everyone seems to know each other. The lunch combos are a good deal and really delicious. Love the purple rice and the cheese corn. My kimchi fried rice was so good. They also serve traditional Korean juices and drinks. So good. Went here for lunch today with my sister and kids (we are half Korean and grew up eating Korean food) plus some Korean friends of the family. Everyone agreed the food was good. I had daejigogi, and some of the others had dolsot bibimbap, salmon, kimchi fried rice, pork katsu, and chicken stir-fried udon. The server was very nice, and didn't mind that we stayed way past when lunchtime ended. A few negatives, though. 1) Very small bathroom, not much room to change a baby. 2) No banchan! 3) You have to order and pay for kimchi. 4) Likewise tea. 5) No white rice! Just purple or brown. 6) Pretty small place, so not much room for a large party. I don't mean to make it sound worse than it is. I really liked it. But it reminds me of Mura in Magnolia -- a Korean (+Japanese) place mostly frequented by white people. That's OK -- there are fortunately now many places to get the kind of Korean I'm used to -- but other Koreans, and others who might expect banchan, white rice, boricha, and a more extensive Korean menu should be forewarned. I would totally go back next time I'm in the neighborhood though. I grew up there but now live across town. read more

Sadly, I ate a firery beef bowl that could have been really great, had there been any meat in it, and had it not been cold in the center. I also left hungry, with only five tiny bits of beef in the entire bowl to give to my hungry puppies. read more

Staffs were nice and friendly. Plating was great and beautiful. We ordered a stone bowl Bibimbab, grilled Pork belly, spicy chicken, and cream udon. First of all, the portion was very small. Mine was Creamy udon with chicken, but it seemed like they did put very cheap commercial cream sauce with four little pieces of chicken. Average price of dishes were between $13-15. They did not offer side dishes as other Korean restaurant. You have to pay $5 for three different types of Kimchee. They served way too much fermented Kimchee yesterday. Overall, they need to improve quality of food and size of portion. I know this is not traditional Korean food, but it is hard to be called as Fusion Korean dishes as well. None of dish was impressive at all. read more

What a neat little place! My boyfriend and I stopped in one night because I'm always craving Asian food, and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the experience was from start to finish. Although small, the whole place felt clean, neat, and tasteful, customer service was provided by individuals who own the business (with impeccable politeness), and of course - the food was authentic and SO good. I got the beef sukiyaki nabe and it was a satisfying comfort food for me (clear warm soupy dish with rice side). My boyfriend got the stone bowl bibimbap and it was easily the best bibimbap we've had - texture and flavor were both spot on. Definitely on going on our list of restaurants to re-visit. read more

I just love their place, their food and the people. Family owned. I've eaten there so many times I can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet. Sometimes I just grab a quick lunch and have their chicken with teriyaki sauce which is top quality. For dinner I'd take their beef sukiyaki beef nabe, bibimbap or spicy stir-fried seafood. Me and my husband were so excited that we had a new restaurant right around the corner from our house. We went a few days ago for dinner. We absolutely LOVED Hanok. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is super cute and clean. We ordered the green salad to share which I am obsessed with the dressing! Soo good! And we each ordered the pork Tofu soup. It was the perfect amount of soup and was delicious! I think it's way better than any tofu soup I've had in Seattle. I loved the presentation. This is a wonderful Korean restaurant. My wife and I both had bibimbap with spicy pork in stone bowls. Ideally the basal rice would be crispier but we were not complaining as the flavors were perfect. We started with some kind of fried seaweed logs. Love this Asian food addition to Madison Park, which doesn't have the most diverse food offerings. The people who run it are really nice, and the food holds up surprisingly well for takeout. Have tried for both sit down in the pre-covid era (was there really such a time) as well as for takeout only, and I haven't really noticed a difference. read more

My girlfriend and I have eaten at Hanok about a dozen times, partly because of it being close to home. Mostly, though, we keep coming back because the food and staff are so good. It's a simple place with no pretension (the way we like it), and the ingredients are always amazingly fresh and absolutely tasty. I almost always get the spicy pork bulgogi, but other dishes my girlfriend has ordered have been very good too. Indeed, we're a little disappointed in seeing all the good reviews, for fear too many others will find out about one of our favorite Seattle spots. Yummy Korean food in Madison Park! I've only been during lunch and each experience has been great. I love the dolsut bibimbap, served over the purple rice! Great flavors--chicken, beef, or tofu all yummy. My daughter reported her fried udon noodles with chicken was also delicious. I also tried their soon tofu soup--so good, just the right amount of spice for this 2.5-3 star tongue, served with a side of purple rice. We also had an off-menu dessert: an Asian style pancake filled with chocolaty sweet deliciousness--great blend of salt and sweet. We are so happy Hanok has come to this neighborhood. 2 of our family went for dinner tonight and waited a long time for tea and food--the place was packed and preparing to go orders as well. I hope they iron out their dinner timing and service issues and stay for a while. read more

Had lunch today at Hanok with my family, including two grandkids, ages 6 and 10. We started with an assortment of appetizers, including edamame, fried calamari, their noodle and seaweed appetizer, their potato appetizer, and kimchi. For entrees, our party ordered two types of dolsot bimbimbap, chicken katsu, and tofu teriyaki. Everyone agreed that everything was fantastic and the service was warm and welcoming. My granddaughter's comment sums up our experience: " the restaurant made me happy; it was so good." We will be back. P.S.
