So much excitement for this place. I love their innovation and their interesting take of things both classic and unique. The ambiance is casual and simple. A few stools and tables. Service was rushed for sure and the girls behind the counter weren't the most cheerful but they got the job done. I Carrot cake was good but not amazing. It was sweet and I wanted more cream cheese less fluffy butter. Ideally nuts would be good too but allergens I know. The schmear on top was fantastic. Egg sandwich - egg was cold but the toast was amazing. I don't like American cheese so bummer but it was well made other than the temperature. Strawberry passion danish - amazing !!! I had been seeing this bakery all over social media and I can confirm it lived up to the hype. There was a short line to get in and we waited less than 10 minutes. The place is small and has minimal seating but we were able to find a spot to sit. The bakery case is filled with so many options. We ordered the honey cake, cinnamon roll, strawberry passion fruit tart, and chocolate chip cookie. We also ordered an egg sandwich which was fluffy and came with a side of green chutney. Everything we got was so delicious. Each person at the table had a different favorite but mine was the honey cake. The chocolate chip cookie is my new favorite in the city. Short and quick line on a Saturday morning. Tried a lot of things here: paneer tikka pastry, sausage roll, egg and cheese sandwich, ham and cheese pinwheel, carrot cake, iced matcha, and hot chocolate. I don't eat meat but everything I tried was great. The cookie was pretty hard when I got it but really good when I warmed it up later, and the matcha is very high quality which I appreciated. The paneer tikka pastry was super unique and flaky and flavorful. The carrot cake was actually just ok- wish there was more cream cheese frosting. The egg and cheese sandwich is huge and so yummy! I'm not even a rice krispie person but saw their pistachio halva rice krispie treat and thought "maybe I could be." It was the only thing I ordered, and it was incredible. Stored it all day in my purse for an afternoon treat and felt like such a badass strutting the NYC streets just gnawing on a huge square of puffed rice cereal. Walked in because I recognized the name and just ordered with my heart, but after seeing rave reviews, wish I had ordered more! This is SO GOOD. My friend coaxed us to try this new bakery and boy, we were so impressed. We had hot chocolate and split a carrot cake and we were sent up to heaven. The custard cream over hot chocolate is such a great addition - genius. Every sip was divine. The carrot cake was really moist and decadent. Here's what I've tried: + Malted cinnamon bun - icing was perfect. Better than the bun itself which was a little dense/dry. Tbh would skip + Carrot cake - great, no notes + Harry's berries Strawberry passionfruit tart - best thing I've had here so far. Incredible + Banana cream pie - perfect (though I hope they bring back the lemon meringue soon because I need it) + Turkey Swiss croissant - good but not my fave. Will try more of their savory stuff soon + Rhubarb tea cake - perfect. We got 2 things to share among 3 of us as a late afternoon snack and it was the perfect amount! I personally felt the Cookie Butter Monkey Bread was too sweet for my liking. The Carrot Cake was amazing though, thought the proportion of frosting to cake was perfect. We went at 3pm on a Sunday and there was a very short wait (5-10 min). As we left though (closer to 5pm), there was quite a line outside. There is seating inside but mostly bar seats and 3 tables that could maybe fit 3-4 people. Not super big inside overall, and more of a grab and go place in my opinion. I've been wanting to try Hani's for a while after seeing it all over social media! My friends and I got the carrot cake, chocolate chip cookie, and cinnamon roll. I thought everything was decent but not that mind blowing. I had really had high expectations after seeing so many videos. The carrot cake didn't have that much depth of flavor - I liked the little tart jam on top and wish there was more of that in the cake to make it more interesting! The cinnamon roll had good flavor but was a little on the dry side. The chocolate chip cookie was good but I think there's better cookies in the city. Being from California, we never really understood too much about NY's bakery culture, but we were pleasantly surprised by Hani's. Like mainy NY bakeries, the store itself is smaller on the inside, but their delectable treats and baked goods were for all to see, and smell! We got a couple of things, some of which I forgot the names of, but the pistachio rice krispy brick we had (yes, it was the size of a small brick) was amazing! Tik Tok influenced me to check this spot out. I'm sick of you social media, lol. I kept seeing rave reviews about their cinnamon rolls which i love so I just had to see what the hype was about, lol. However, I played it safe and ordere the infamous cinnamon roll and the banana bread loaf. I tried a piece of the cinnamon roll in my car and said ok it's good. However, once I got home and settled and made my hot tea and warmed that bad boy up for a few seconds in the microwave I truly appreciated how delicious the roll was. It's very sweet and all the flavors are yummy. I only ate half and saved the rest for later in the day. The roll was still soft and delicious. Definitely a 10/10 The following day I ate my banana loaf and it was good and moist. I like that it was light and didn't feel as heavy as the cinnamon roll. However, that roll was top notch. I'd give it a 8/10 which isn't bad. I definitely look forward to returning to this spot for another cinnamon roll and to check out some other menu items. read more

I had been seeing a lot of hype about this place on my instagram feed, and since I was working nearby, I decided to stop by. I got a few things so I could try what was actually good. I got the malted cinnamon bun, triple chocolate chunk cookie, fudgiest brownie, cake truffles, and the double thick Valrhona Hot Chocolate. My total came out to about $40. The malted cinnamon bun was good with an abundant amount of frosting, but I found it to be just a bit too bready for me. The triple chocolate chunk cookie was also good, but a bit too greasy. My fudgiest brownie had a very gummy, gelatiny texture which I found odd. The cake truffles were ok (I wanted a slice of cake, but they weren't out when I got there first thing in the morning). The hot chocolate was amazing though, and I would definitely recommend it. I could tell the servers were annoyed that I was literally waiting outside before they opened. I didn't try to come inside before they opened, and I've worked at a bakery before and I understand that its not anyone's favorite thing, but I had hit all my other stops and this was the last one before going into the office. Stopped by Sunday late morning and didn't really have to wait long at all maybe 5 min. Got the smoked salmon focaccia, ham and cheese scone sando, and the paneer tikka pinwheel. The smoked salmon focaccia was a bit of a letdown in terms of flavors, especially since I was expecting something along the lines of the smoked salmon bagel from Apollo bagels, but it was much more bland and unbalanced. The salmon didn't pop as much and the texture was all just a bit soggy and soft. The pinwheel also was disappointing as there was barely any filling at all except for a little bit in the center. Lastly, I did enjoy the ham and cheese scone. The flavors are pretty sharp and work well together, but the scone itself was a little bit underbaked and was a bit gummy. I tried a bite of my friend's strawberry lime cheesecake which was honestly really good, but didn't make up for the other letdowns. With so many other bakeries in the area, not sure if Hani's is worth going back to especially with such steep prices as well. read more

Hani's is a new bakery that opened up in Cooper Sq that's been getting a lot of hype online. I was nervous about the wait but when I went on a Sunday afternoon it was busy but I only had to wait a few minutes to pick out my selection. I was surprised by how much variety there was sweet and savory -- a truffle potato bun, multiple cakes, huge cookies, malted cinnamon rolls, etc. I decided to try a sweet and savory and narrowing down was incredibly difficult. I landed on the spinach & feta hand pie ($6.5) which had such a flavorful filling with a flaky crossiant-like exterior. The cinnamon roll ($8) was large and dense, the bread felt more like a brioche than a lighter cinnamon roll dough. They were both some of the better pastries I've had in NY, and that's saying something because my bar is high. The cakes were tempting but the price point felt steep at $13/slice. The pb&j cake and chocolate looked the most intriguing, I'd come back to get one of those slices on a special occasion. Amazing donut! To start off, the dough itself was already the best I had. Think this is a brioche donut? By fried nicely and it's airy and fluffy. Also. First time I had a donut with dual filling! The frosting on top is sweet but nice that the filling actually makes it not too sweet. The chocolate filling is more like rich chocolate mousse that's lightly sweetened. Vanilla filling is slightly more sweet in comparison but this is more of a Boston cream texture. Really smooth and delicious.
