    Maple Sea Salt Latte
    Srinanda G.

The sea salt maple latte was life-changing, like it genuinely blew my mind. Def lives up to the hype. I also got the triple chocolate chip cookie, and while it's $8, the size of the cookie is def generous. The cookie itself was great texture-wise (exactly how ppl describe it), but I felt like it was a bit too chocolate-y/sweet for my liking, so I don't think I would get it again. There was a slight line outside, but honestly, it moved pretty fast. There's limited seating space inside, and it fills up pretty quickly, so I would say this is more of a takeout place. I would def go back to try more of the bakery options tho.

I recently went on a cinnamon roll crawl and our first stop was Hani's. The line was thankfully not too long and we were able to secure a malted cinnamon bun ($8.50) as well as a slice of their famous honey cake ($14). The bakery was packed inside so we opted to take our treats to Tompkins Sq Park to enjoy. I thought the cinnamon roll at Hani's looked gorgeous, with a smooth, thick malted frosting poured on top. But I felt the pastry underneath was actually the driest and most dense out of all the cinnamon rolls I tried that day. It lacked the lightness and fluffiness that I expected but I did like the flavor of the malted frosting. I had very high expectations for the honey cake as well, since it was listed on NYT's Top 25 Essential Pastry List but unfortunately the cake fell short for me. As someone who grew up eating medovik, I thought Hani's rendition veered too much on the tart side and the cake layers, again, were too dense and didn't melt in my mouth. Overall, I was a little let down by the hype surrounding Hani's but I would love to return to try their savory offerings.

Lived up to the hype. The carrot cake wasn't too sweet which I love. The salmon focaccia was soooo good. Drinks- you can prob skip. I can't wait to come back for more food items and pastries.

Scene: Dreary rainy day. Almost all the seats in the cozy bakery were taken. I spotted one, and decided to order a hot chocolate. The counter person was exceptionally nice and welcoming. I felt better already after escaping the rain. The hot chocolate is very good, and thick, like European hot chocolate. I tried to decide among all the beautiful pastries after drinking the hot chocolate. I asked another customer and she said one can't go wrong with the triple chocolate chunk cookie. She was right, as it is delicious. I chose the carrot cake to go, and it is perfectly moist and very good. The hibiscus rose morning bun is excellent. Everything looks good, so I will return to try other pastries when nearby. I suggest you visit!

YES YES YES!! WOW, glad that I finally got to try this spot! We went on a Sat afternoon and waited ~15 min in their line. They only let a group in at a time. There's some seating, but it's always packed since this spot is poppin'! What we got: - Chocolate Chip Cookie: Actually SOO good! I'm usually skeptical about thin cookies, but this one is absolutely worth the try. - Carrot Cake: YUM!! Not overly sweet and rightfully one of their popular pastries. - Orange Cake Slice: We wanted to try one more item and made the right choice w this one. I'm usually not an orange flavored gal, but you can tell that this one didn't have that overly-artificial orange flavor whatsoever. Not a must try, but I think this spot is def worth the try if you have some time and are you're willing to wait for a bit.

This place checks off a lot of boxes: The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie The Best Hot Chocolate My wife has a hair appointment, I made sure to get to NYC at least one hour early. She's never been so I have to do a Jedi mind trick on her because she's not a breakfast person. I ask her, would you like to have coffee and maybe a bite of my Smoked Salmon Focaccia? Oh yes, thank you! I read Lisa E's review, I walked in, see everyone standing around so I said "Good morning" at a level 7. That perked up everyone quickly. I ordered: Hani's Hot Chocolate Smoked Salmon Focaccia Chocolate Chip Cookie A bag of Granola Pistachio Halavah Rice Krispy Treat We grab our items and find a spot to eat by the counter. There's a small seating area so be prepared to wait for a seat on the weekend. The Hot Chocolate, its made in an Italian style, a thicker liquid. What sold me was the contrast of the cold whipped cream and the rich chocolate. This is a fantastic drink. Smoked Salmon Focaccia had us at hello. The chive cream cheese and salmon was a great combination. The watermelon radishes gave this dish a new, elevated twist on a bagel with cream cheese. The Chocolate Chip Cookie, they locked this in as one of the best cookies for 2026. This morning, my sons are coming over to try the Granola and Pistachio Halavah Rice Krispy Treat. Totally impressed with Hani's Bakery! My son had his engagement party at Gramercy Tavern so it will be nice for him to try these delicious baked goods.

Hibiscus rose morning bun, sausage in a blanket, turkey Swiss croissant, coffee cake
    Rachel G.

Hani's Bakery is worth all the hype! I've stopped y a couple times and it's best to go early in the morning to avoid waiting in line. They always have several seasonal items, so there is always some new to try. They have a good mix of savory and sweet items, cake slices and even sandwiches. Most recently I picked up a seasonal hibiscus rose morning bun, which was a great combo of flavors. The turkey Swiss croissant was so flaky and nice savory pastry. There are so many items to choose from, making it a good spot to go with a few people and split a bunch of things. Definitely a must go!

Absolutely incredible experience at Hani's Bakery in NYC! Everything here tastes like it was made with genuine care and top-quality ingredients. The coffee was perfectly balanced--rich, smooth, and the ideal pairing for their pastries. And the cakes and baked goods? Truly next level. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully crafted. The pastries were flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet--just the perfect balance. The cakes were moist, light, and tasted homemade in the best possible way. You can really tell the bakers know what they're doing. If you're in New York and love great coffee with exceptional pastries, this place is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back (probably too often). Highly recommend!

Hani's 67 Cooper Square New York, NY 10003 Cheddar Scallion Sausage Scone As I witnessed this long line as well as the crowd inside, I knew this bakery was on the money. This is a unique twist on a traditional scone. It may look plain jane from the outside, but it is packed with all of this goodness on the inside. It tasted fine at room temperature, but I would have enjoyed it more if it was heated. #eastvillage #eastvillagenyc #hanis #cheddarscallion #cheddarscallionscone

Very sweet honey cake but banana cream croissant was sooo good!!
    Annie B.

Food/drinks: some pastries are verryyy sweet (ie. Cinnamon roll and honey cake) but some aren't like the baba cream pastry which was soo good and flavored with actual banana Atmosphere: cute and very busy but tiny so I've had to wait for seating every time! It's also very difficult to accommodate parties of 3 or more Service: normal! Price: $$ as expected in the city

    Slice of divine chocolate cake
    Seby I.

You know how some people buy a slice of cake and eat it at one sitting? Not me. The slice of Chocolate Blackout Cake that I bought at Hani's Bakery on Saturday is still being enjoyed....sparingly. At $12 a slice, this is expensive and must be savored slowly. Finally I finished it this evening. This cake was rich, fudgy, a touch salty and the stuff of dreams. Thank you Chef Shilpa for creating this. I saw you stirring it on the video. I thought if I was going to become a ten ton Tessie eating this cake I might as well do it slowly! After all, we shouldn't hurry pleasure - should we?

    Carrot cake and paneer roll
    Anushka M.

They have such unique pastries and so many options! We tried the cinnamon roll, chocolate chip cookie, carrot cake, and paneer tikka pinwheel for food. The cinnamon roll was warm and soft with a delicious frosting on top. I personally like more frosting in between the layers but it was still a solid cinnamon roll. The chocolate chip cookie and carrot cake were fine, but I loved the paneer tikka pinwheel. Very unique and it was a great savory item. For drinks I've tried the hot chocolate and honey cake latte. The hot chocolate was on the dark chocolate side with a slightly salted whipped cream on top. The honey cake latte was nice and sweet and another unique menu item. Overall I'd definitely come back and try more, I feel like I only scratched the surface

Chocolate Cake - Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie - Cinnamon Bun
    Ken G.

We tried a selection of items from Hani's and I really enjoyed the experience. The Chocolate Cake was okay...I really liked the texture and level of sweetness, but it lacked the cocoa flavor I would expect from a cake like that. The Cinnamon Bun was great - perfect roll with the most incredible cream cheese frosting...if this were served warm, it would be spectacular! The Triple Chocolate Cookie was insanely good - buttery and not overly sweet...these were so great, I bought extras to take back with me. The space itself is cute and has a "modern diner" vibe...it has a decent amount of seating, but the place isn't gigantic, so I'd expect certain times to be busier than others. I was here on two occasions over the course of a week and the customer service was excellent each time.
