Stopped by on a rainy Sunday afternoon and still had to wait in line, although thankfully it wasn't too long. I had really high expectations for this place based on all the hype, and it completely delivered. I picked up some of their most popular items, including the triple chocolate chunk cookie, a cinnamon bun, and the honey cake. All three were fantastic. I even had to walk more than a mile home in the rain, and somehow everything held its shape perfectly by the time I got back. The honey cake was incredibly moist with a cozy, warm flavor. The cinnamon roll was soft and delicious, and I loved the cream cheese icing. The chocolate chunk cookie had the perfect balance of sweet and salty, and it was even better after a few seconds in the microwave. This was one of those places where every item lived up to the hype, and I can't wait to go back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

It's so frustrating when a good bakery runs out of good items. I was visiting close to lunch time but they didn't have their lunch items out yet so I got a shashuka croissant which was very good. The egg was cooked just right, the croissant perfectly flaky and not too soggy at all. I wish I could just try one of their plain croissants but they didn't have any!

Presentation is absolutely top-notch. I was hoping to try their strawberry shortcake but the customer in front of me took the last slice. Oh well... I guess that's a good excuse to come back for more sweet treats. The seating is first come first served, so it's not guaranteed you'll get a table even if you order something. I got the honey cake to go and I have to say it was a little overrated. I'd still like to come back and try a few more things before making up my mind though.

My sister is obsessed with Hani's Bakery and took me there on a Saturday morning. There was a line out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. When we got inside, we ordered the Souffle Egg Sandwich, Shakshuka Croissant Tart, Meyer Lemon Meringue Pie, and Cookie Butter Monkey Bread. The interior was tiny but we managed to snag a small table right away. The first item we tried was the Shakshuka Croissant Tart, which might have been my favorite. The pastry was perfectly flakey and I loved the runny egg with feta cheese. Next, we tried the Meyer Lemon Meringue Pie and Cookie Butter Monkey Bread. Both of these were awesome, although the monkey bread was a bit too decadent for me. Again, great textures all around! The Souffle Egg Sandwich sandwich took a while to come out, but was worth the wait. I loved the milk bread, and green sauce was the perfect tangy compliment to the creamy cheesy eggs. For drinks, I had asked the guy at the counter which ones had coffee and he recommended the Cherry-Yuzu Espresso Cloud. Honestly, he kind of led me astray with that one. While it was tasty, this drink felt barely caffeinated. I should've gone with the Maple Sea Salt Latte! Overall though, we left happy and incredibly full.

{Overall: 4.25; Food: 4.25} Ambiance: 4; Service: 4 Hani's Bakery is a very fun spot. The space is clean, bright, and the pastries are incredibly appealing. I usually try to come on a weekday afternoon to avoid the line. For a greater selection, come by 1 pm at the latest. I've tried: *Malted Cinnamon Bun: My favorite thing I've had here so far. The bun is pillowy and soft, and the frosting strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and cream cheese tanginess. The malt adds a balances the sweetness. One of the best cinnamon buns I've had. *Brown Butter Carrot Cake: Very good. Not overly sweet and has great flavor that is more unique than the classic version. *Hani's Honey Cake: Good, but not my cup of tea. I think you need to already enjoy honey cake as a dessert to fully love it. It's a light and airy cake that isn't too sweet. *Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie: Extremely decadent and especially delicious when served warm. That said, I'm not sure it's worth $8 given how many great chocolate chip cookies you can find around the city. The Cinnamon Bun and Carrot Cake would keep me coming back.

Hani's was part of my food crawl with my other friend who loves bakeries and honestly we both didn't understand the hype. We got their chocolate chip cookie and carrot cake, which I think they're pretty well known for. I found both to be too sweet and for the price, I was hoping for a little more. The vibes in the bakery are quite cozy, making it a nice place to chat and relax while enjoying the pastries and desserts here.

    PBJ Cake, paneer tikka croissant
    Matt L.

Paneer tikka croissant: really unique take on a croissant with great spiced center. An extremely delicious savory pastry. A tad too salty after eating the whole thing. PBJ Cake: just a perfectly baked tall cake. If you catch a seat at the bar seating, it's addicting to watch the bakers precisely measure every cake slice, heat the knife to slice through the cake cleanly, and decorate the top.

I recently went on a cinnamon roll crawl and our first stop was Hani's. The line was thankfully not too long and we were able to secure a malted cinnamon bun ($8.50) as well as a slice of their famous honey cake ($14). The bakery was packed inside so we opted to take our treats to Tompkins Sq Park to enjoy. I thought the cinnamon roll at Hani's looked gorgeous, with a smooth, thick malted frosting poured on top. But I felt the pastry underneath was actually the driest and most dense out of all the cinnamon rolls I tried that day. It lacked the lightness and fluffiness that I expected but I did like the flavor of the malted frosting. I had very high expectations for the honey cake as well, since it was listed on NYT's Top 25 Essential Pastry List but unfortunately the cake fell short for me. As someone who grew up eating medovik, I thought Hani's rendition veered too much on the tart side and the cake layers, again, were too dense and didn't melt in my mouth. Overall, I was a little let down by the hype surrounding Hani's but I would love to return to try their savory offerings.

    Maple Sea Salt Latte
    Srinanda G.

The sea salt maple latte was life-changing, like it genuinely blew my mind. Def lives up to the hype. I also got the triple chocolate chip cookie, and while it's $8, the size of the cookie is def generous. The cookie itself was great texture-wise (exactly how ppl describe it), but I felt like it was a bit too chocolate-y/sweet for my liking, so I don't think I would get it again. There was a slight line outside, but honestly, it moved pretty fast. There's limited seating space inside, and it fills up pretty quickly, so I would say this is more of a takeout place. I would def go back to try more of the bakery options tho.

Scene: Dreary rainy day. Almost all the seats in the cozy bakery were taken. I spotted one, and decided to order a hot chocolate. The counter person was exceptionally nice and welcoming. I felt better already after escaping the rain. The hot chocolate is very good, and thick, like European hot chocolate. I tried to decide among all the beautiful pastries after drinking the hot chocolate. I asked another customer and she said one can't go wrong with the triple chocolate chunk cookie. She was right, as it is delicious. I chose the carrot cake to go, and it is perfectly moist and very good. The hibiscus rose morning bun is excellent. Everything looks good, so I will return to try other pastries when nearby. I suggest you visit!

Lived up to the hype. The carrot cake wasn't too sweet which I love. The salmon focaccia was soooo good. Drinks- you can prob skip. I can't wait to come back for more food items and pastries.

This place checks off a lot of boxes: The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie The Best Hot Chocolate My wife has a hair appointment, I made sure to get to NYC at least one hour early. She's never been so I have to do a Jedi mind trick on her because she's not a breakfast person. I ask her, would you like to have coffee and maybe a bite of my Smoked Salmon Focaccia? Oh yes, thank you! I read Lisa E's review, I walked in, see everyone standing around so I said "Good morning" at a level 7. That perked up everyone quickly. I ordered: Hani's Hot Chocolate Smoked Salmon Focaccia Chocolate Chip Cookie A bag of Granola Pistachio Halavah Rice Krispy Treat We grab our items and find a spot to eat by the counter. There's a small seating area so be prepared to wait for a seat on the weekend. The Hot Chocolate, its made in an Italian style, a thicker liquid. What sold me was the contrast of the cold whipped cream and the rich chocolate. This is a fantastic drink. Smoked Salmon Focaccia had us at hello. The chive cream cheese and salmon was a great combination. The watermelon radishes gave this dish a new, elevated twist on a bagel with cream cheese. The Chocolate Chip Cookie, they locked this in as one of the best cookies for 2026. This morning, my sons are coming over to try the Granola and Pistachio Halavah Rice Krispy Treat. Totally impressed with Hani's Bakery! My son had his engagement party at Gramercy Tavern so it will be nice for him to try these delicious baked goods.

YES YES YES!! WOW, glad that I finally got to try this spot! We went on a Sat afternoon and waited ~15 min in their line. They only let a group in at a time. There's some seating, but it's always packed since this spot is poppin'! What we got: - Chocolate Chip Cookie: Actually SOO good! I'm usually skeptical about thin cookies, but this one is absolutely worth the try. - Carrot Cake: YUM!! Not overly sweet and rightfully one of their popular pastries. - Orange Cake Slice: We wanted to try one more item and made the right choice w this one. I'm usually not an orange flavored gal, but you can tell that this one didn't have that overly-artificial orange flavor whatsoever. Not a must try, but I think this spot is def worth the try if you have some time and are you're willing to wait for a bit.

It was a little hard but I like the cream cheese was thinly spread not just thrown in like many places. The salmon was good and the mint tasted fresh. The capers were like slightly toasted and crispy, i've never had them like that before and I loved it. I think the toast was just missing a little drizzle of olive oil on top. To be honest, I think the capers were my favorite part. They were just this unique texture. I've never experienced before. I also got an iced lavender chai latte to go. The whole space is surrounded by books! Heaven! We ordered a chai, matcha and a ginger cookie. Shout out to the woman taking my order for comping me my drink for my birthday! Everyone from the staff was friendly - I really enjoyed being there. The only thing I would say is someone should come by to check on the tables more often as I had to return other people's abandoned drinks. But you know what first world problems, am I right? Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... Mmm definitely next time. Maybe sometimes after work - sounds like a great wind down.

We tried the melon shaved ice $22 for the large which was a bit pricy but it was quite delicious. We were worried that the large might be too much for two people but honestly we were able to finish it without a problem. The melon pieces were sweet, the ice is milk based so it was creamy and flavorful on its own. We barely used the condensed milk that it came with (and we loved how they put it on the side for us instead). At the bottom of the shaved ice was cereal pieces and mochi which gave a nice different texture. We also tried their drinks specifically their blue lemonade and mango-ade which I thought was just ok. The highlight is definitely their shaved ice. Definitely go for the large as the small seemed much smaller and for double the price, you can get almost 2-3x more. Overall: it's a great place to grab a shaved ice and relax . The atmosphere is chill and you can stay without feeling rushed.

We walked into a comfortable and relaxed space with plenty of seating, the kind of place that makes it nice to spend time with friends or stop by for a late-night dessert. The interior had a playful yet welcoming design with a casual energy that encouraged lingering, and the layout accommodated both small groups and larger parties comfortably, making it a good spot for a longer visit rather than a quick grab-and-go stop. The main highlight is the bingsoo, especially the fruit-based options that combine fluffy shaved ice with different toppings and textures. We ordered the strawberry matcha bingsoo and found it standing out with its balance of creamy matcha flavor, fresh fruit, and sweet toppings, each component coming together in a way that felt well composed. The mango cheesecake bingsoo offered a richer dessert experience, with the creaminess of the cheesecake and the sweetness of the mango adding a more indulgent layer to the light shaved ice. The ice itself had a fine, soft texture that made the larger portions easier to share without feeling too heavy, and the variety of toppings gave us room to explore different combinations. Beyond the bingsoo, Sweet Moment also offered a variety of drinks and desserts. The matcha latte and specialty lattes paired well with the sweeter menu items, and options like the Earl Grey pudding provided something different from the typical dessert café offerings. The waffles and other desserts added more variety for anyone looking for something beyond shaved ice. Service was friendly and the ordering process was straightforward. The spacious seating and relaxed environment made the café work well for groups or anyone looking for a place to sit and chat rather than just grab a quick dessert. The portions were generous, with many shaved ice options being large enough to share, and the team moved through the room with efficiency, keeping the pace of the visit comfortable. Overall, Sweet Moment NYC is a solid dessert destination for anyone looking for Korean-style shaved ice, creative drinks, and a comfortable café atmosphere. The combination of unique desserts, generous portions, and a laid-back setting makes it a good spot for a casual dessert stop in Chinatown.

The mango lassi did not have enough mango flavor for me, I couldn't justify paying $10 for it. The condensed milk bun was good but it was similar to any other sweet bun in an asian bakery.
