Haeundae BBQ has replaced Kim Cha Yul Myung Poom Kalbi. Both Korean BBQ restaurants.
A few months ago I came and had mandoo soup. The mandoo soup was good. And they brought many side dishes.
But I noticed the decor had changed a bit. Then I noticed the menu was different. I realized then that my favorite Korean BBQ restaurant had become another restaurant!
I'm not gonna lie. I loved Kim Cha Yul Myung Poom Kalbi. It's difficult not to compare Haeundae BBQ to Kim Cha Yul Myung Poom Kalbi. On its own Haeundae is a good Korean restaurant.
Food is good and the service is good. The ambiance is actually slightly better with darker wood and higher divider between two large spaces. But food tastes good, but not excellent. Service is still good. There were some carry over of servers from previous restaurant.
So, I mentioned mandoo soup was good. I had beef bbq here too and the unique style of previous restaurant, which was thicker beef and less sweet marinated short rib bbq, had been changed. Now beef bbq here is the same as other restaurants. Not bad. It was good, but not as good as the previous restaurant version.
One thing I will say is the mul naengmyun is not good here. The broth tasted bland. I kept adding vinegar but it didn't help the broth taste any better. read more
