Staple and a definite go to bakery. I visit once a month because it's close to my dogs groomer. While she is being groomed I sit in my car outside the bakery and feast. It's a must try guys. Staff is young... may have to ask for help.. but it's all good. We were all young once right ? Enjoy !!

Ran over to Grimaldi's in the rain with my little girls and my best friend. Although I was sad there isn't a sitting area, I was very happy with what I did see. It's extremely clean and friendly. I noticed the cheesecakes and other items in the fridge as soon as I walked in since I couldn't decide between the Black Forest and the strawberry cheesecake, I got both. The person behind the counter was patient and kind, letting my daughters choose their cupcakes and handing it to them directly rather than making them wait while it was bagged up. She was very sweet. The Black Forest was delicious and since I "accidentally" ate my boyfriend's cheesecake, it looks like I will be taking the 37 minute drive from home to return. I strongly recommend this bakery. Can't wait to go back.

Authentic italian cookies! Those ones shaped like an S and those ones covered in sesame. Anisette cookies were the best here. They look like biscotti but they aren't. If you are unaccustomed to these kind of tea & coffee treats then try some and expand the diversity of your palette. Their flavor is reserved and they are not super sugary. I would come back and try their bagels and just about everything else. There are so many desserts and other sweets and flavors to be had here!

$8 worth of grimaldi's...awesome deal considering the MASSIVE cinnamon bun

I really do love this bakery and sad that my only connection to the area has moved so it really would be a hike for baked goods. If I was model thin then grimadli's is worth the 30 min bus ride but it's a lot of effort to get fatter. The variety is pretty good and I've yet to feel like there isn't something new to try every time I go. My favorites have to be the doughnut cannoli hybrid, the mega Cinnamon bun square, brownies and the monkey bread. If I had to choose one thing it would be the brownies. They're perfect. They have one with a pudding like frosting and one that's more of an regular icing but fudge like brownie. Both are huge and can be split but if you're greedy then tell you friend to kick rocks! They have breads, cakes, mega muffins, parfait style cake flavors, cupcakes, croissants, Italian cookies and traditional desserts, bread puddings, turnovers and soooo much more. Service is always friendly although at times inattentive but their mainly younger females in the front like high school/college age so that's expected. The prices are beyond reasonable and I don't think I've ever spent more than $10 for 2 people each getting 2-3 items. My only complaint is that sometimes everything is a day old. I totally get not selling out of every cookie, bread loaf, money bread, etc. daily so keeping it but you have to have at least a few things fresh daily. When I order 6 things and all are a bit stale it's not a great impression. So long grimaldi's! I will miss you in my sweet dreams!

Displays were well-stocked and the staff smiling at 10:45am on Valentine's Day. Ordered up $20.22 which was covered by an Amazon Local voucher, which is about $40 worth of pastries at your normal bakery (I kept ordering more and didn't hit the voucher minimum) -- peep the receipt. Most things were quite good, with the lobster tail as the standout. Will return for specialty seasonal sweets, filled-to-order cannoli, the semolina and the Pane di Altamura peddled out of the full-city-block production facility. PS This spot kinda resists searches, and is AKA Grimaldi's Home of Bread.

A delicious devils food cake with cherry filling and chocolate covered cherries on top.

A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

This is a staple bakery in Elmhurst that specializes in Strawberry Shortcakes. This bakery has…read morebeen around to more than 40 years and I remember growing up always having this for our family birthday parties. It has actually been a while since I've had it and my friend made a special request specifically for strawberry shortcake for her 50th birthday. Du Bois for the first place that came to mind. Took a quick look online from pics from previous customers and was surprised to see the number of different designs they can do now. I picked this pink flower one that the owner made out of fondant and it was so pretty and exceeded my expectations. There was no additional charge at all. Back in the days....40 years ago, there was one style I remember getting and it was white cream with strawberries. Now there's so many you can pick from. The birthday girl was so happy with the design. I ordered a 20 person cake. There were 2 choices-round or sheet cake. Round is $60 which is what I opted for since I thought it looked prettier and the sheet cake is $50. The round cake actually came out very tall but gorgeous. Harder to cut too since it was taller. The owner was so nice. He custom made the top of the cake box to make sure the cake fit and doesn't get damaged. The fresh cream on the cake is so good. Not too sweet and very light. Perfect with the strawberries. The cake part was moist and yummy. I forgot how much I love this cake. All the nostalgic memories of eating it when I was younger came back. Honestly, I think it's even better than I remember. And the price was so reasonable for such a beautifully decorated cake.

Eaton Cafe is definitely a hidden gem in Queens! I almost don't want to share this amazing place…read morefor fear it will be crowded every time we go there now. Our dinner there tonight was perfect! We ordered chicken wings, french fries, and pork soup dumplings for our kids. For my husband and me, we enjoyed the pork combo, the crispy watercress salad and Batagor (fried fish cake, fried tofu, fried wontons and fried potato with peanut sauce on the side in case our kids wanted any). Our most memorable and refreshing dish was the Crispy Watercress Salad. Who knew watercress could be fried!?! lol We will definitely be ordering again next time as well as recommending to others. This dish was refreshing and light. Loved every bite! The pork combo was a combination of roast pig, sausage slices, fried slices of fish cake, etc. with rice and soup on the side. Easily the ideal lunch for one person or to share with someone! The Batagor was very fun to eat because it reminded me of fondue but with peanut sauce. I loved dipping the fried fish cake, fried tofu, fried wonton and fried potato in the yummy peanut sauce. This night was delicious and the perfect family dinner for us. With tax and 20% tip, total was about $145 and change. A little steep for family dinner but it was about right considering the raising cost of groceries. We considered it our New Year dinner. Eaton Cafe definitely gets two thumbs up from me and my Yummylicious Stamp of Approval! Happy New Year everyone!
