Sure it's not an attractive eye catching place but for locals who eat there that doesn't matter. You also have your occasional suspicious looking fellow walk in but, in Irving that's the norm. For less than $5 you can be on the fast track to a heart attack with a juicy burger and fries. The inside is a bit old, something from the 60's, 70's maybe. Hard wooden tables, seats. Luckily enough the food is good. I've had 2 experiences lately with customer service, or lack there of I almost don't want to go here again. They stay busy enough I'm sure they could care less about people and their opinions, and that is obvious if you happen to have any interaction with the manager or any of the employees other then the usual pay and go. I've been visiting griffs ever since I was a child, and I must say, I still love there burgers. They are far better than any other fast food burgers I've tasted thus far, and this is why. There burgers are made when you order, there beef paties have a great taste, the buns are well toasted, and overall, the burger is much bigger than most fast food chains. The price for there combos are really cheap and you get great tasting burgers for a low price, what else can you want. Yes there dinning area is not as modern and presentable as most places, but its the food your purchasing, not the dining area. Definitely a good place to go out to eat on a Friday night just to relax and have a good time. This place isn't a looker, and I would avoid eating inside unless you're the octomom, or somebody who has a high tolerance for auditory torture. This place is cheap, good, and they prepare the burgers when you order them. They have a unique Cheesy potato crunch, which is best served as "the works". Basically $6 here gets you filled with a monolithic cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. You can tell their burgers are made on a flattop because of the crispy, caramelized layer on the outside. They offer a great old fashioned hamburger and fries. The patties are thin but large enough, the burger is just a little greasy, and the fries are crisp and salty. I love going to Griff's! I've been visiting their various locations for at least 40 years! If you are new to Griff's, you will not really understand the draw of this place. It is nothing fancy, but that is what 'the regulars' like about it. The prices are reasonable and the burgers are good. The fries are best when they are hot and fresh. I agree that the employees should be more hygienic, but that goes for any food establishment that I go to. It's kind of raggedy could use a revamping if you will. The food is average. They have a drive-thru. We just moved to Irving and ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The burgers (we get the double cheeseburger bacon added) and it is just like a home-made burger complete with toasted bun :-) = what joy! The fries are great and the same crispy perfection every time we come (consistant is a plus and they have it down to a science). No wonder it's like a revolving door with people coming and going ~ as the food is fantastic ~ no other words needed. Oh, the staff knows the menu like the back of their hand and are helpful and polite every time.
