Griff's Hamburgers is an Irving institution. My parents were coming here back in their school days, and it still holds up as one of the best old-school greasy burger joints around. The building is newer and kept really clean, but thankfully the original 1950s-style sign still stands tall--an Irving classic and a reminder of its roots. This isn't fancy cuisine; it's good, greasy, satisfying food done right. The Burgers: Whether you grab a single or double, you'll leave happy. But if you're feeling bold, go triple or even quadruple--it's going to be a monster. Juicy, greasy, exactly what a fast-food burger should be. Sides: Fries are solid, onion rings have a thick, flavorful batter (pretty sure they make them fresh, though I won't swear to it). Both hit the spot. Other Classics: The chicken fried steak sandwich is a gem. Sure, it's a frozen patty, but it's rare to even find this on a fast-food menu anymore. There's something nostalgic and comforting about it. The chicken sandwich is legit, and the hot link sandwich has great flavor if you want to try something different. Dessert: Don't skip the fried apple pie--it's that old-school style McDonald's used to have before they went "healthy" with baked pies. Crispy, hot, and just the right amount of sweet. Drinks: Only downside--if you want a diet drink, they only carry Diet Coke. Griff's, please add Coke Zero or Diet Dr Pepper! That would make a great place even better. And of course, you can't go wrong with a milkshake to top it all off. Bottom line: If you're craving greasy comfort food, nothing beats a Griff's burger. Well it's a nice clean burger joint and the burgers are still great after all these years. Not the bad. Onion ring. What once was is no more. These were bad small stuck together and they obviously don't change the oil enough. Instead of a golden brown they had a motor oil yellow brown look. So if like me the rings were what you come for, look elsewhere because this is a big fail to me. I'm giving 3 stars for the burger only. It's really a 4 -5 but I take off for the rings. read more

It is ridiculous that I spend $13.00 for my lunch and they want me to pay .54 for BBQ sauce for my Chicken Bites. I guess I should have had her ring it up and I use my credit card for the .54 charge. I thought the burger was great ! The meat was well cooked and cheese melted in your mouth when you took a bite. The lettuce, tomato and onion blended well with the bread a burger sauce. It was more than fulfilling for me. The fries were a bit soggy but it was perfectly seasoned although I did feel that they were small. The restaurant itself was more of an enjoy your food and leave. It was a few basic booths with some tables and chairs. The place was clean and was properly maintained. The employees were friendly and provided good service at an efficient pace. Service as always was good and friendly, I got a #2 cheeseburger and I am disappointed. The meat content was not a patty, but more like a spread out patty-like meat? I was expecting a nice thick patty as the name suggests "Giant Cheeseburger", please refer to the pictures. Usually I get chilli which puts the burger. Over the top but they were out which is ok, but the patty did taste good, I just feel like I would have been better off going to Whataburger for a patty with holes. If you never had Griffs before, I don't blame you... there's not a lot of them out there and finding one close by isn't always an easy task. I've managed to drive past this on an excursion to meet with my wife and decided that one day I would give them a go... today was that day. Their menu featured a good selection of burgers mixed in with chicken sandwiches and the like... in my bag, a simple "giant" cheese burger (add bacon... cause it's bacon...) a side of fries and a drink. After biting into the worlds soggiest fry I wondered if the same would be expected of their burgers... lucky for me that wasn't the case. The patty was freshly grilled, bacon was semi crisp and cheese, gooey. Definitely better than what you'd find at MD's or BK's... although very avg and not super special. It's been a long time since I've had their burgers! I had the #2 combo with onion rings instead of fries. The burger was very good! The onion rings were just ok, I've had better. Next time I think I'll stick to the fries. They've remodeled since I've last been here and I really like the new look. The service was good and the food came out fast and hot! My two kids and I went exploring in lower Irving, and we tried this place out. We got their monster burgers. Wow! Best burgers ever! So good. We've tried other things on their menu, and they're pretty good too. Steak fingers. Fries. My only problem with them is they have some fence up so that it's confusing if you can park there or how you can do their drive-thru. Last time I went there, we had to search around for a place to park and then walk to the restaurant. Not sure why they do this. But their food is definitely worth it. First, let me start by saying this was my first time eating at Griff's and wow, was it delicious! I called the restaurant to order and the manager, Ida, took my order and explained a few items on the menu for me... onion rings are awesome and whatever the jalapeno cheddar potato fried balls of goodness were, they were great too. When we went inside to pick up our order and check the place out, Ida introduced herself and was absolutely delightful. Two thin beautifully crusted patties were seasoned perfectly before they were placed on a fresh bun with my choice of condiments and cheese. I mean Yum!! This place will be our new go to for burgers as food was fresh, tasty and it's only 2.5 miles away from work. Ida has an amazing team that smiled and were genuinely happy, it was so welcoming my colleagues and I are still talking about it. I grew up on griffs the location in Pleasant Grove and it will always have a special place in my heart.

You literally cannot beat Griffs when it comes to a nice greasy burger. Every time I come here the staff is always super nice to help me out. I will say the line can be a wait but that is literally my only negative about here. Ask for the fries to be a little crispy to make it a bit better! After waiting in the drive thru for 30 minutes last night at the Irving location, we get to the window and are told that they won't accept my card as it has no chip. This is ridiculous. Some businesses still do not have chip readers, but Griff's has decided that only cards with chips are acceptable? Of course, there were no signs to this effect anywhere to be seen. So, after 30 minutes, I drove off with no food, and they had to trash the food I did order. Looked online, but there is no way to reach anyone other than the stores themselves to complain.
