Grid Coffee is a coffee shop located in Diamond Bar Town Center in between Kcal Insurance Agency and Grand Fresh Market. They have a variety of espresso drinks, cold brews, matcha drinks, loose leaf teas, and a few other non-coffee drinks. I ordered a Dalgona Caffe Latte which was one of their cold brew drinks. An excellent cold brew. Great balance of dalgona flavor, coffee flavor, and milk. It was smooth, sweet, nutty, and toffee-like. It was rather strong as my heart shot up to the ceiling but that's typical of a cold brew. Anyway, I would definitely order this again. Service could be improved. When I entered, there was no barista to be found. I could hear a lot of chatter behind the curtain. Eventually within a few minutes someone came out, didn't apologize for the wait and just asked what I wanted to order. The barista didn't seem like he wanted to be there. The interior is very much minimalist. The seating area looks highly uncomfortable. On one side of the wall, there's a giant wooden rectangular block with raised tables in a stadium type seating. On the other part of the wall, there's a communal table with wooden square stools. When I went, the stadium seating area was practically filled. There was slow smooth jazz music playing in the background. Other than the communal indoor seating, there's also some patio seating. I enjoyed the Dalgona Caffe Latte. We came to Grid Coffee after running a 5K with friends, and it was the perfect post-run pick-me-up! The space is beautiful, clean, minimalistic, and very welcoming. The employees were so kind and eager to give recommendations, which we really appreciated. My fiancé and I both tried the strawberry matcha with almond milk and wow... hands down the best matcha I've ever had! Their matcha is top-tier (smooth, not bitter, and perfectly balanced). The chunks of fresh strawberry and the sprig of mint added such a refreshing touch. It was as pretty as it was delicious! The menu is very confusing. Why have an espresso part of a menu and a cold brew section if there are lattes in BOTH sections? Calling something a Mojito iced coffee and it being half milk isn't an iced coffee... Plus when we went in it was VERY hot and uncomfortable. Some mans back in there was covered in sweat. Drinks I have tried: - einspanner latte Although the cream top was a bit too sweet, the coffee at the bottom was strong enough to balance it out. - blue lavender latte This one was really sweet from the syrup and the lavender was quite strong. Since this was not made with espresso shots, it was a lot more watery and lighter in coffee taste. - kyoto coldbrew latte This was very underwhelming and not for me. I could barely taste the coffee. - normal latte This is a very safe choice for anyone looking to check them out. The coffee taste does linger in your mouth a bit and it doesn't taste acidic. Croffles I've tried: - matcha with freeze dried strawberry This is definitely very indulgent and sweet. Although the matcha white chocolate glaze is really sweet, the matcha flavor is pretty strong. - cinnamon sugar This one is a lot chewier and you can ask for it to be heated up! Mine was not heated up well enough but it was still good. Overall: It's a really cozy spot during the weekdays when there's not too many people. Was in the area for a visit to a sister vet hospital and saw Grid on my way in. Looked up their menu and saw they offer a variety of matcha options and had to stop by before heading into work. Small little shop hidden on the right when you enter the plaza. Parking is shared with many other businesses but fairly easy to get parking. Its a large open concept store with very minimal decor inside. There are just large wooden benches that is shared with other individuals. Looks like a lot of individuals came here to do school or work here. There was a small menu display at the front of the counter so if its your first time, you may be blocking the register for others to order. I was debating between the cream matcha or the blue lavender matcha. A young korean gentleman helped me and suggested I get the blue lavender. They had a few food options and I was hesitant on purchasing the avocado toast for $12 but my hunger got the best of me. Blue lavender matcha was delish. Definitely a distinct lavender taste and the right amount of milk to give it a milky taste. The lavender did not over power the matcha which still has the right amount of bitterness. I definitely enjoyed my drink. Avocado toast had the right amount of crunch to doughy toast texture from their sourdough bread they used. Generous avocado to toast ratio topped with cottage cheese and I believe sun dried tomato with a balsamic glaze. It was accompanied with arugula salad with a light balsamic drizzle as well. Definitely would want to return here if I'm ever in the area to try their other matcha options. I believe this place is a family owned business. There was an older korean gentleman that was EXTREMELY attentive to all guest and had a clean factor of 100%. He was meticulous on brushing the coffee grounds on the counter with a brush. There was a unique dalgona coffee drink I saw a couple order that had HUGE chunks of dalgona candy? topped on their drink. I think if you're going to have specialty drinks or even be a cafe in general , you should expect customers and expect them to want your drinks. To walk in and order and hear your employees OUT LOUD complain how they don't want to make your drink and then to top it off , have the person taking your order laugh and egg them on and talk about how I'm not amused right in front of me. I was passing through town and decided I needed a pick me up, so decided to check this place out. It's in a plaza so it's shared parking lot, but I found a spot right away, right out front. There wasn't much of a line when I went in but the line quickly formed soon after. The line seemed to be moving pretty quickly though, and the drinks also came out soon after ordering so don't be discouraged. Service was friendly and helpful. I went with a strawberry matcha (I saw majority of customers ordering the matcha so it's what I went with as well). Their menu does have a bit of everything and there are different ways you can customize your drink. They only have a menu at the front when ordering. I would suggest looking up the menu beforehand so you have an idea of what you want instead of waiting until you're at the front and hold everyone up (always the worst feeling). My drink came out quickly and I got back on the road. The strawberry was almost jam-like. It was sweet but delicious. I would get chunks of strawberry here and there. You really have to mix it well to have all the flavors blend together. The matcha is also really good, and despite the strawberry goodness, you still get the taste of the matcha. It was so good. I see why people were opting for the matcha drinks! The interior aesthetic is very minimal. They do have long benches for seating, but honestly it's not optimal or comfortable. Second time here, I brought my dad this time and he loved it! Cherry latte - great for cherry lovers. Avocado toast - delicious, crunchy, and flavorful. As I walk in the interior is very nice and modern with plenty of seats and seems like a great place to study. The blueberry matcha started a little tart and very matcha-forward at the top, but once it was mixed? Absolutely phenomenal. The guys behind the counter are genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and great with recommendations, which elevates the whole experience. And the matcha waffle... I'm still thinking about it. There's a few seats and 1 shared table inside with a minimal/clean interior. Service was friendly and quick This is our 2nd time here and we got the: - Iced strawberry matcha (4/5) strawberry compote they use is definitely fresh which we appreciated but I think it may have overpowered the matcha. - Iced strawberry cold brew (5/5) highly recommend this drink even my partner like it who doesn't typically like coffee. The strawberry compote perfectly balances the cold brew and is refreshing. - Margherita Prosciutto toast (5/5) comes in a Togo box and toast was perfectly crunchy with a good amount of ricotta, pesto, sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto. I was looking for a coffee spot in the Diamond Bar area and came across Grid Coffee. I arrived on a Saturday around 11 AM and found it was busy. There was plenty of parking available in the shared parking lot. While the exterior of the shop looks small, the inside was quite spacious. There were various of seating arrangements in the store. My friend and I decided to sit on the side of the wall. It was a unique seating, but definitely not one where would sit for a long period of time. After waiting to order, I got the Blue Lavender Caffe Latte and my friend got a hot cappuccino. I'm a fan of lavender lattes and this one was exactly to my liking. On Mother's day after church I had cousins staying with me and asked to grab some coffee/tea afterwards. We found this place on Yelp, and went crazy in love with it. The Vibe was super chill and relaxed and full of such positive energy. Living in Diamond Bar for over 20+ years, I must have missed this little cute cafe shop. It is a cashless shop so bring your apple pay or atm cards people. Do not get weird about it. The seating is very minimalist has cushions for who needs them. The staff are very kind and professional and boy did we have many questions about what to order. I've been to Grid Coffee a couple times now and it's quickly become a go-to spot for me. Every visit, I find myself ordering the same delicious drink -- the iced blueberry matcha latte. It's yummy with a bright, refreshing matcha flavor and actual blueberries at the bottom that add the perfect fruity touch. I am so glad they don't overfill their matcha lattes with too much milk or too much ice. I did try the iced lavender matcha recently, but it wasn't for me. Honestly, it tasted like lavender essential oil or a lavender bubble bath; Not exactly what I'm looking for in a drink. It felt like a bit of a waste, especially when I know how good their blueberry matcha is. I'm going to continue with their regular matcha and the blueberry matcha. Additionally, their croffles are sooo delicious -- flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of crispy. Definitely worth a try! The vibe inside the café is very minimal and modern. It's got a clean, comfortable feel the moment you walk in. Plus, the baristas are always friendly, which makes the experience even better.
