I was excited when I thought I was only getting the vegan scramble sandwich, but upon arriving I discovered the new decadent vegan option. The croissant, daiya cheese, just egg and beyond sausage combination makes an irresistible sandwich I will certainly come back for. Despite being small, the Gregory's on Court Street is thoughtfully decorated and inviting. I grabbed a small coffee and sat at the bar by the winder. Their coffee is flavorful without begin bitter. There was a comfortable hum of people talking and the music was played low in the background, so I could actually make a few phone calls. I find most coffee shops play music so loud it feels more like a club on Friday night. I didn't get anything to eat, but they had a nice array of pastries, acai bowls and salads. The help yourself ice water canister was a godsend after a long walk in the heat. read more

Ive grown to love gregorys coffee cos i used to work right upstairs of one. But havent had it since i left the job. It was nice to see one by my drs office. My fav bfast is the swiss oatmeal, and chai with soy. Previously, at my old office location they were serving a special called London Fog and i was hooked on that drink! Im not sure if its just that specific location or if its all gregorys. But if u like earl grey tea ull like it! The staff told me its earl grey tea with vanilla syrup and steamed milk. Sooooo good. The staff was very kind. The prices are reasonable for the area. I came on a Saturday afternoon to finish an hour of work on my computer. There's not much seating but it also wasn't too busy so I didn't mind. I had a black iced tea and it was top notch. My family thinks I'm crazy for hating sweet tea even though I live for sweets. Something about the bitter taste of black unsweetened tea quenches an insatiable thirst. And this cafe quenched it on an 80 degree day. I'd like to come back another day when I have meetings downtown. This is a central location but is not quite on the main drag. Take a left uphill after the Duane Reade downtown and you'll find it there. I'm looking forward to trying the scones and cookies next time. Popped into this Gregory's on a cold afternoon. It is currently under some scaffolding , so it is a bit hard to find. Once inside, it is a cozy coffee shop. Unlike some of the other chains in the area, they have a pretty large pastry / dessert section. I couldn't possibly pass this up and got a brownie. It was darn good. I also got an iced coffee. It was also good. The staff was super nice and got in, out and on my way. If you are the hang around type, there are some places to sit and relax and enjoy your coffee or do some work. read more

I used to love this place! The baristas were professional and knew how to pull a shot and steam milk. Now it's just another chain coffee place . My last latte at this location was 1. Huge 2. Over steamed and the shots were under-extracted. Also everyone had to ask for sugar non were available for people , they hand them out like ketchup packets. read more

I love Gregory's coffee for few reasons: their place is clean, friendly, slices of cakes are fresh and moist, latte is made to perfection with signature heart. That's the Manhattan standard thou because this Brooklyn location was far from that standard. They have dirty counters, latte is done fast and without any care, cakes are sliced thin and put on side to dry. Perhaps management needs to step it up a bit. read more

Coffee addicts beware - the simple syrup sitting out for my iced coffee was TEEMING with ants!!!!! My friend poured it into her cold brew without noticing and passed me the bottle - upon one glance, MY GOD, CALL THE EXTERMINATOR!!!! I returned the bottle sitting out to the person at the register immediately and they exclaimed "that's gross! Sorry!" and gave us fresh simple syrup. Small cute spot hidden from the busy street of Montague. I work down the street from the shop so I come in once in a blue because the prices are outrageously high. I come in for a dirty chia and it runs about six bucks and change! I normally tip so it can cost me up to $8! They have a jug of water with lemon and ice in it you can help yourself to. I feel like I need to have a cup of their refreshing water to fill like I'm getting my money's worth hahaha I know silly right!? Water AND coffee for 8 bucks lol Great customer service. I loved my oat milk latte on a chilly day - it was super yummy and the guys working there were really friendly. I also got the vegan lemon (and some other ingredient) pound cake - and that was sooooooooooo yummy. The best part of my trip here was the two little boys in front of me who came with their mom--one said, "He always makes us late because he's a fart!" and mom said "Stop stop stop stop stop." It totally seemed like there were lots of regulars here, including the mom with her boys, who seemed to be walking them to school before she went to work--dream life for real. I usually drink black coffee but I saw a drink on the menu called the Honey Badger so obviously I had to try that. It was tasty! Okay, I'm a glutton for punishment. After more than a month of avoiding this place, I tried again this morning. Nothing has changed. I ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich. The coffee came out after 5 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes before I finally asked about my breakfast sandwich (rather than them asking a guy waiting there for 10 minutes what he was waiting on). Apparently, it never even made it onto the grill. So I waited another 5 minutes for them to cook my sandwich. It's nice to see they now have a manager (new?) who is trying to keep the place running. But they really need to take a long hard look at the processes in place, because this coffee shop is a nightmare for anyone looking to be in and out in less than 10 minutes. My advice to the manager is get rid of any food that needs to be made or cooked (like sandwiches and the collection of toasts). You just don't have the proper training and processes in place to execute those things. Stick to coffee and pastries. read more

Really very good but, the service,....customers whom had already ordered kept crowding the ordering area. At first I thought "Rude." But then I realized that in this establishment (atleast during the am crush) the squeaky wheel is the only one that gets the oil. Regulars knew. They kept walking up, looking in and walking away. The longest the ordering line got was 3 people. 3! I can understand a long wait for deliciousness, or craftmanship but I have to repeatedly remind you to make my order. I'm out. Loved this coffee. Loved! But you need a different kind of customer. This chick is not the customer that you seek. Service has always been an issue but this new straw has broken the camel's back. Simply nothing special. Had a stale cinnamon explosion thing, an average glazed doughnut, and two decent but not exceptional cups of coffees. Im an admitted coffee snob, and I've had better pastries and coffee in NYC. This one is about on par with any starbucks in my opinion, thus not truly special. Also, prepare to stand. Goodbye Starbucks!!! I walk by this little shop at least twice a week. So many people outside smoking from the building next door, I guess I was just turned off. Today I made a break for it and dodged the clouds of smoke! Omg I couldn't believe how rich and powerful this cup of joe was. Such a shame that i never pay attention that much to Gregorys because i am hooked with their cold brew. The staffs were very friendly and nice too. They had a sample of rice krispies when i was there. Good ample selection of baked goods and drinks. Couple of seatings inside but don't expect a cozy Starbucks or Argo. This location is pretty small so i guess it could get packed in the morning. I think i might go to their Manhattan location next time. read more

Ah! For the past two years, I have been clamoring for a really good coffee place to open near work. The good but rude Vineapple is close, but not close enough. When I was walking to work earlier this week and saw that a Gregory's had opened up a few minutes from my office, I was ecstatic. Gregory's is what Starbucks would be if their coffee didn't taste like burnt ass. Employees are really friendly, they all wear uniforms, but most importantly--the coffee is excellent. Well-roasted, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back. One star off for their beans, which do not have a roast date. I'd buy them, but how can I know if they're fresh if you don't tell me when they're roasted? Guess I'll stick to Stumptown and Cafe Grumpy for that. read more

I went to Gregory's Coffee and got hot chocolate. It makes more sense in context - I mostly wanted to have a cozy place to hang out between meetings. Conveniently located, but a little hidden on a side street and behind some scaffolding, I found it. The staff were really kind and accommodating. The tables were clean and comfortable (but not SO comfortable as to encourage loitering). The patrons all seemed to be decent and respectful of the shared space that this shop has. That's a particularly refreshing thing to experience in a bustling area of Brooklyn. This is by far my favorite spot in Brooklyn Heights. Gregory's is major enough to have an app and an order-ahead option, but small enough to remember your name when you walk in and follow up on the last conversation you had with them. The staff is really chill-- friendly without a hint of hipster barista attitude, just cool folks. The manager, Kush, is absolutely the bomb.
