Konditori* is an Swedish Espresso bar deep in the heart of Fifth Avenue in Brooklyn. Well....... All I can say is Halla! That's hello in Swedish! I've dined, shopped and wandered Union Street for many years and have not discovered really good coffee salons. That is until today... Konditori offers familiar faves like Cappuccino, Lattes and other coffee delights and unique pastries. I wanted a quick pick me up, my first coffee of the day and a sweet bite after my post Thai lunch. Konditori bakes a Cardamom Almond loaf and I was going to choose that for my sweet treat until I learned it was ..sold... out! 'Bamar! ( that's bummer in Swedish). I opted for their Swedish cocoa ball covered in coconut. I ordered a Flat White to accompany it. Now, where to sit.. the space is open and airy. There is leather seating in back of house and farmhouse tables. I opted for a sunny table near window. Then took my first sip of my Flat White Wou! ( not a typo, that's wow in Swedish). The most delicious Flat White I've tasted! A velvety concoction! The disappointment was the Cocoaball.. it's lovely to look at but not much taste and very dense. Of course I will be back for that Cardamom bread. The atmosphere is chill and the staff are pleasant and courteous. Tack,( thank you in Swedish) Konditori for a pleasant afternoon delight. Jag Kommar Tillbakka ( I'll be back) Konditori is accessible by R train (Union Street) and five minute walk or B63 to Union Street, also five minute walk. *Ahh you noticed my asterisk. Konditori means confectioner in Sweden ( Konditor).

Early morning on Monday and they already ran out of bagel. Food was okay, just an attitude of sandwich maker and cashier. Unwelcoming vibe gave out from them when I asked the question and when they gave me food.

Found this new bagel joint near a laundromat. My favorite is always everything (toasted) with cream cheese. I know toasting bagel is not very authentic but I like the burnt taste of a bagel. Konditori also had Red Eye, coffee with an extra shot of expresso, which I've never had before. The first real bagel in 3 years tasted amazing. People are extremely friendly.

Down the street from my friend Jenni W.'s apartment, Konditori was a convenient spot to grab a quick breakfast and coffee before our workout class on a Saturday morning. Maybe not the best idea to fill up before working our butts off... but worth every calorie in my belly (ok, i know that's not how it works but ya know what I mean). There's quite a line but it moves quickly and if you're like me, you need that time to decide on an order. I ended up ordering the maple latte with a brown sugar pear pastry that I can't recall the exact name of. They carry Dough Doughnuts but they had already run out of the hibiscus, which was one I really wanted to try! I ended up getting the sugary pastry that honestly was more buttery than sweet. It was sugary on top and soft, flakey and delicious inside. The fruit was sweet but not overly so. The maple latte was perfect - they use maple syrup to sweeten the beverage and I found it to be just right. You can ask them to use a little less syrup if you're worried it will be too sweet. There was plenty of seating but also quite a few people taking up the tables. We were lucky to score a table for two. There seemed to be a few people hovering for tables as we were getting ready to leave. I can see how some people could stay all day getting work done, especially with the free WiFi! Overall, I do notice some poor reviews due to long waits or poor service but my overall experience was just fine!

Bagel was, oh, I don't know - fine? Average? Oat cortado was fine. But $1.50 surcharge for oat milk, and $6 for 2 teaspoons of veggie tofutti on a sesame bagel is highway robbery. It took 15 minutes to order these items and get them in hand during the morning rush. I don't care how convenient this is on my commute, it made me late and just a little sad. Will not be returning.

Walking down 5th Ave in Park Slope you're presented with a sea of coffee / breakfast options and Konditori is one you should definitely make a point to try. I got an egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. The everything bagel seasoning was delicious and flavorful, the bagel itself was crunchy yet chewy as well. It tasted homemade and fresh! The egg and cheese sandwich also comes with a garlic aioli which brings the whole sandwich together. Lastly, maybe we went on an off day, but we didn't feel a very welcoming atmosphere in the cafe itself despite missing the breakfast rush crowd.

Best coffee in NYC in my opinion. I always get a coconut-mocha latte! Also, the coco balls are delish. If you can't tell I love coconut! Lol

no indoor seating in april 2022 but at least i can print out a quick PDF here?!

You must have the Brussels sprouts!! I'd go back for those in a minute! I very much enjoyed my salmon dish. Lovely presentation and preparation but portion a bit small. However, the Brussels sprouts were so generous portion that even after sharing there was "take home" for us. The chocolate mousse was extraordinary! I don't even want to know the calorie count - but worth it!! My one negative was the chill of the Cabernet Yes, I know that's the trend but personally I prefer room temp especially in cold weather The restaurant owner was gracious, staff actually charming and accommodating We are recommending this place to family and friends and plan to return especially when going to BAM ENJOY!!

Walked in and was able to get a seat without reservation, but it definitely filled up by 6/7 pm. The place is dimly lit and the tables are quite small. For the food, we got their Brussel sprouts, shrimp, salmon entree and chicken entree. Our favorite were definitely the shrimp. But everything else when eaten together tasted a bit too greasy and felt monotonous in terms of flavor. Brussel sprouts were fried and held to a decent amount of oil, then the addition of tahini made it even more oily. Pan chicken we expected whole pieces of chicken but it was more like a thin chicken cutlet. The salmon came with a cauliflower puree which tasted so rich (with butter), but I couldn't finish it bc it was so rich.

People have left some odd reviews of this place, including a one-star review for the restaurant…read moreapparently being highly politicized--a vibe I neither felt nor could visually identify within or without the establishment. I ordered a single burger and a Sudan spiced peanut butter latte, for ~$15! That's pretty inexpensive for New York City. I note this as some consider it overpriced. I suppose the food is fairly inexpensive, the lattes slightly higher than average. The "burger" comes wrapped in a homemade pita with diced cucumber, onion, and tomato, plus a few crispy, thick-cut fries and a yummy house sauce. It was a cool twist of the traditional burger and had a nice flavor. The sauce was like a slightly Mediterranean version of Big Mac sauce. The girl working as the barista and cashier was very nice and friendly. She had a nice presence and warm smile, made suggestions, and even gave a stranger free utensils when they popped on to ask. I think it's definitely worth checking out, and it's a good place for a cheap & simple meal that's still quirky and fun.

Perhaps I should have anticipated that, or my mistake in ordering. I also ordered a Moroccan egg salad sandwich which was substantive but surprisingly bland--sparse with the advertised capers and pickled red onions to give it more punch. I've always loved the look of the spot and the vibe--funky decor, outside and indoor facing counters to order, with some outdoor seating for people watching on Dekalb or heading nearby Ft. Greene Park. I see they are renovating and rebranding a bit and adding some burger component. While I didn't love it, I'd definitely give it another shot.
