I picked up the queen bean, pec, and mama's migas tacos to go with a small drip coffee. The tacos, like always, were warm, delicious, and a nice blend of eggs, cheese, and other ingredients wrapped up in a soft flour tortilla. One of my favorite ways to start the day. The coffee was fresh, hot, and stayed warm nicely for my 15 degree weather, 10 minute walk back home. Why only 4 stars? I didn't try anything else on the menu! I typically stick with my black Cold Brew and Americanos, but coming here on a rainy Saturday made me want to switch it up. With so many options available, it took me awhile to narrow it down to the Cardamom Latte and Salted Caramel Latte. Big fan of the Cardamom Latte, it's lightly sweetened with a nice spice aroma from the Cardamom. When I come back in the future, I'll have to choose between that or trying something new on their seasonal menu.

I wasn't asking for a refund, just a replacement for the almost $8 drink I couldn't even finish. Unfortunately, an employee named Anush was incredibly rude and dismissive. He refused to remake it because an hour had passed. When I asked to speak to a manager or get a contact number to address the issue, he refused to help with either. What should have been a simple resolution turned into a frustrating experience because of the way I was treated. I live right down the block and have ordered here numerous times, which makes this especially disappointing. I hope the owner or management sees this review, looks into what happened, and reaches out. Customers should be able to raise legitimate concerns without being dismissed. It's disappointing to lose confidence in a neighborhood spot over a lack of basic courtesy.

I REALLY liked the Vegan Blueberry Muffin I had. It was moist and dense like I prefer, with fresh blueberries added bursts of flavor. I also enjoyed their plain croissant, which was large, flaky and standard. Finally, I tried their sea salt chocolate chip cookie, which was ok, but I wouldn't get it again as the flavor reminded me of Chips Ahoy cookies, which aren't for me. The cookie itself was chunky and large though, which I can appreciate. Their savory pastries seem much more interesting but really it seems this place shines in its drinks, so I plan to return and try one of their seasonal creations soon.

The male cashier/server fend a very stolid, apathetic and nonchalant dissent opposition for negative energy of any food offerings. I wanted either a pastry or a bagel on-the-go. I did not want a full lunch meal. I certainly did not want to dine-in either. This business has seasonal winter hours for an early opening. I later decided with small hot chocolate to warm my heart shielding from New York's brutal winter blues. After scanning the small bakery glass encasement of their very limited pastries I inquired if there were any chocolate chip cookies to receive an apathetic response "NO!" Or, ham and cheese croissant? "NO!" Well, what about bagels? Again, "NO!" Okay, what about a sandwich? "NO!" Try for what about chocolate chip muffin? "NO!" Oh! This male cashier/server adamantly responded in a ill mockery manner laugh. Oh! Then, how about hot chocolate? "NO!" This was my cue to make a fast exit and feeling utterly dispirited with despondence. Relentless blatant rejection is abhorrent. I understand "NO" for rejection and the debased, berated for belittling without empathy or an ounce of compassion. This is a "NO" agitator! Forget you Sweetbee! You are surely not so-called "sweet" with nothing I coveted for my desideratum and very limited food offerings. There is no substance for value measurement from this small business. Not even by half measurement. Bitterbee is the corrected business name. Bye Felicia!

We come to sit, talk, share stories, our personal experiences and of course sip a fabulous beverage. I'm seeing this more and more as I visit fabulous coffee places.. Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream.
