    Almond cake and mocha
    Madeleine B.

Happened on this place on a weekend. I tried the almond cake and hot mocha. Both were very good. It's hard to impress with a mocha but wow it was so rich and creamy! Plus they serve in big mugs which add to the vibe. They have a specials drink menu that looks great. A nice neighborhood coffee spot.

Very cute, cozy coffee shop. I stopped in briefly for a matcha before barre class. There's an expansive tea list (mostly black if I recall correctly) if you're in the mood for a warm drink other than coffee. The vibe is rustic, warm and pleasant--tied together with a comfy leather couch. There's a small coat rack and enough chairs/couches to seat a few. The staff were friendly.

This coffee shop exudes an above-average level of mystery. Or maybe it's just because I was reading a Murakami novel early on a Wednesday afternoon, which is a strange time to be sitting in a coffee shop in the first place. My iced latte was very good. The seating is cozy, and this is a suitable space for striking up a conversation should you desire.

Came here for a morning coffee and ended up getting a little treat in the morning as well. We got the honey cake which was nice soft and crumbly. It wasn't too sweet. It went perfectly with a cappuccino. The two people working there were very accommodating to our drink orders. The coffee shop is small and doesn't have much seating space. The atmosphere has a nice vintage feel to the decor

This is a very cute and cozy spot! The interior is so beautifully decorated despite it being quite small inside. A handful of seating inside as well as some seating outside in the patio in the front. Staff is so welcoming and kind, too. I got a pumpkin crème latte and a honey cake and the cake was delicious. I love when pastries have a good level of sweet and never overly so. The latte was so nice and creamy. I saw they had a jar of dog treats so they must also be pet friendly. I will definitely be back for a visit!

Such a cute spot, the interior is cute and I bring my dog here , I like to get the meat or cheese crepe or spinach pie.

I have a coffee mood.. sometimes I'm drinking it on the run, sometimes I'm taking a coffee break at work but sometimes.. I need to unwind, sip and actually taste my coffee and make time to just slow..down.... My perfect ambience is a nice comfy environment with cushy couches, plants, pendant lighting, few coffee options and jazz music in the background. Where can I find all of this? Enso Cafe! I needed to have a quiet space to sip delicious chai. Enso offers chai, cappuccino, flat white, cold brew, matcha , protein shakes, wonderful assortment of teas and beautiful pastries. I placed my order for a hot Chai, found my seat and listened to the great jazz music. My Chai was served in a pretty China tea cup. It was light, frothy and had refreshing cinnamon flavors. The space is cozy but the vibe is soothing. It's a great place to read a book, bring a friend or sit absolutely still and enjoy you time. I.. you.. deserve it! Enso Cafe is located on 665 President Street. Take R to Union Street, 4th Avenue and walk to 5th Avenue. When you spot the painted white " cottage" on the corner, you are there!

    Lavender mocha

I first came here when they just opened. Met the owner who was super friendly. I have been getting a lavender mocha with oat milk when I stop by. Today I decided to get an almond mocha and it was amazing. Paired well with this caramel oat square. There are a lot of organic flavors to choose from for those you like to add some flavor to their lattes. A cute cafe with a leather couch and bench by the window. Perfect spot to read a book. They also have some chairs outside!

Food here is great. The vibe is a comfortable and cozy spot. We were the only ones not working on a laptop, but then again it was a Thursday afternoon when we came. The furniture and seating gives the feeling that the owner put some thought into it. Music was comfortably loud enough to have a conversation, but quiet enough to still think clearly. The workers are personable and maintain a great neighborhood cafe vibe where they'll remember your name and what you ordered. People who move into this area would be smart to make this a regular! Would absolutely visit again!

Loveeeeee. A great cozy cafe for weekday cafe hoppers who want some quiet time to journal and drink coffee. The interior is so gorgeous and has so many warm wood tones. It's rustic and not sporting the usual artsy, industrial look for cafes I usually go to. Service was friendly, everything felt perfect while the rain drizzled outside. I'd like to try their specialty drinks next time but their matcha was pretty good on it's own! And it was only 5-ish dollars.

Lovely for flavored coffees and quaint cozy atmosphere. Velvet rose coffee was quite nice. Will be back.

    Birds milk cake
    Amira A.

What is in that birds milk cake?? I was skeptical at first and I'm not a fan of chocolate but I obviously like wasting money! I was going to stick to the honey cake but decided to try the birds milk cake and I'm happy I did. I can't put my finger on it at all. Kinda reminds me of an eclair but it was a little smoky reminiscent of a toasted marshmallow. It had a little crunch which was also unexpected. The creaminess from whatever is in the middle added layers to the flavor and texture. I don't know what I ate y'all but it was delicious. I was only supposed to have a bite but sat down and ate the whole thing.

You must have the Brussels sprouts!! I'd go back for those in a minute! I very much enjoyed my salmon dish. Lovely presentation and preparation but portion a bit small. Walked in and was able to get a seat without reservation, but it definitely filled up by 6/7 pm. The place is dimly lit and the tables are quite small. For the food, we got their Brussel sprouts, shrimp, salmon entree and chicken entree. Our favorite were definitely the shrimp. But everything else when eaten together tasted a bit too greasy and felt monotonous in terms of flavor. Brussel sprouts were fried and held to a decent amount of oil, then the addition of tahini made it even more oily. Pan chicken we expected whole pieces of chicken but it was more like a thin chicken cutlet. The salmon came with a cauliflower puree which tasted so rich (with butter), but I couldn't finish it bc it was so rich.

I ordered a single burger and a Sudan spiced peanut butter latte, for ~$15! That's pretty inexpensive for New York City. I note this as some consider it overpriced. I suppose the food is fairly inexpensive, the lattes slightly higher than average. The "burger" comes wrapped in a homemade pita with diced cucumber, onion, and tomato, plus a few crispy, thick-cut fries and a yummy house sauce. It was a cool twist of the traditional burger and had a nice flavor. The sauce was like a slightly Mediterranean version of Big Mac sauce. The girl working as the barista and cashier was very nice and friendly. She had a nice presence and warm smile, made suggestions, and even gave a stranger free utensils when they popped on to ask. I think it's definitely worth checking out, and it's a good place for a cheap & simple meal that's still quirky and fun.

Perhaps I should have anticipated that, or my mistake in ordering. I also ordered a Moroccan egg salad sandwich which was substantive but surprisingly bland--sparse with the advertised capers and pickled red onions to give it more punch. I've always loved the look of the spot and the vibe--funky decor, outside and indoor facing counters to order, with some outdoor seating for people watching on Dekalb or heading nearby Ft. Greene Park. I see they are renovating and rebranding a bit and adding some burger component. While I didn't love it, I'd definitely give it another shot.
