I've been gatekeeping Swallow for years. But the employees deserve their stars. THEY ARE THE ACTUAL STARS. Service is great and friendly, and they have excellent/eclectic taste in music. It's almost the perfect neighborhood cafe. Great for coffee meetings, solo work, or just grabbing a pastry or tea to go. The only downfall is the AC. If you're looking for a free sauna on a warm day, this is the spot for you. (But seriously, pleaseee fix the AC). Even my cold brew is sweating. read more

Excellent working space with a very talented staff. Pulling consistently amazing shots of espresso every time I go. Worth staying a while for a study session, or a quick fix. Highly recommend. read more

I came here before a flight for a quick breakfast. I ordered the Lenin toast and a Green Smoothie. Both were good. I would have preferred the Lebni toast with ground olives/tapenade instead -- some bites had way too many olives while some had too few. It was an interesting twist on toast. The smoothie was also good but nothing remarkable. I received my food in about 10 minutes, so it was pretty decent service It's a busy place. There were lots of people there and there wasn't any seating available, but I wasn't upset about this because I had to leave quickly. If you're interested in working here, definitely come early! read more

What a spacious, charming cafe to get work done! I arrived on a weekday afternoon and was surprised to see that all the tables were full. My husband ordered a cortado and asked for it to stay. Since the cafe was full, we sat by the window however that quickly filled as well so it cut the coffee experience short. The barista was quite busy, and it is always lovely to see a barista who knows her regulars' orders. It was a shame that there wasnt any latte art on the cortado. read more

I really like the espresso here, it's bright and thick and satisfying. Good milk options, and there small is actually a small! Yay. Various pastries and some fuller meal options made to order. Friendly, competent staff. It gets very busy here at times, so do us all a favor and look at a menu card before you get to the front of the line (staff are too polite to ask you to step aside, but you can bet a local will speak up). There are lots of small tables in the back (that's also where the bus tray is), and a small counter at the front. My favorite is the loft. There are some wall outlet plugs for charging devices, and people definitely work here, but you can also hang out and chat with friends and not feel like you're in an office. Great location on Atlantic, easily accessible by bike or bus, or walk over from the R, F, G subway. Do not attempt to park here. read more

A great spacious coffee shop with an elegant upstairs. It's right near a happening local area. There is ample room and it would be easy to spend a couple hours here. Great indoor decoration! ** Didn't get anything to eat nor a coffee. Just water for me as I was stopping in read more

This place is perfect for getting work done! There are designated tables for laptop users and separate seating for those enjoying a meal, making it a comfortable space for both productivity and relaxation. One thing I really appreciate is that they provide a bathroom for customers--something I find essential in any spot where people settle in for long periods to work. The drinks were fantastic, and the customer service was excellent. I especially loved the little balcony--it added a unique touch and made the café feel different from others I've been to. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I guess this place is okay for a Get in and get out. Might as well be a Starbucks, NOTE: no bathroom. However, I'm removing this place off my list of neighborhood businesses to support. they close the outside seating at 2:50pm on a Monday, Even though there were a few folks with* just* purchased drinks. No notice when i bought drink, Maybe baristas should advise customers when they buy a 5$ bev that cafe is closing seating? Outside seating was the only reason I chose to spend $5 for a watery mediocre iced tea. honestly there are too many other places to support in this economy, Don't go here if you're looking for chill cafe to hang out and enjoy city, their actions suggest that they don't care to be a community space. Go somewhere else to sit and savor the coffee moment. read more

Great coworking cafe! It's popular though so if you come on a weekend be prepared to wait a moment for a seat to open up. The service was good though and I enjoyed my Americano. The cafe is very well lit which I appreciated and the menu offering are solid. read more

My experience here today was disappointing! Kind of rude unwelcoming employees who don't know what gluten free is. I was hungry and asked what my options were. She said "salads" and nothing else so I ordered a green machine smoothie because they don't have gluten free avocado toast Bf isn't gluten free so he ordered it and the toast was limp. He also ordered a chai latte that was never served . Horrible service read more

This is a nice café right on Atlantic Ave. Customer service is great. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and other items. For a place with lots of seating the ambiance is very nice - not too noisy. Their coffee selections are top notch too. I loved my cortado. I'll be back. read more

I love this cute cafe! They have great drinks and food. I love the swallow sandwich. It's also great in the summer when you can sit at the tables outside and on the sidewalk - great for people watching. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the food service is pretty slow. Usually have to wait 15-20 mins to get my food. Not ideal for when I'm in a rush or just want to pick something up. Everyone who works there is also super friendly and nice. read more

I've had this place on my list of cafes to visit for a while. I finally had the opportunity to stop by on Saturday morning after running a few errands in the rain. It was pretty busy with not many tables to sit at but I was able to snag one upstairs in a small loft area that holds 3 tables with a view of the entire front of the cafe. Great area to study or read. There was a bit of a line when I arrived but it moved fairly quickly. I browsed the menu as I waited but decided on getting just an iced coffee with oat milk. I liked that they had a few different kinds of oat milk to choose from. Oatly is the one I always use so I was happy to see that they had it as an option. The barista was nice & very welcoming, he took my order & got it to me quickly. I enjoyed my coffee & was able to get a few things done peacefully while I was there. Definitely a go-to cafe for me. read more

Literally the best and one of my favorite cafes to work, dine, and play. And by play I mean a coffee date! The cafe is so warm and the staff is amazing. Oh and the food is next level! The chef should open a brunch location! The baked egg with cheese and mushrooms is so tasty and flavorful. I usually order a side of tomato spread for my toast, thank me later! Honestly if you need a place to work remote and enjoy a great breakfast, lunch or even dinner this is the place to be. It's super cute! read more

Light my fire by the doors was playing as I strolled in. Not a big line at 10am cause of quick, friendly and attentive staff. Double shot of espresso served in a ceramic cup is a must and this place delivered a solid shot! Seems like a "laptop shop". At first I didn't even notice how many people were at the tables because of how many levels this place has. Serving Counter Culture coffee seems to be the move here. Rustic open and airy design with exposed brick and a casual relaxed environment. Plenty of natural light with some tungsten bulbs to warm up the inside. First time coming here but looks like a nice spot for working if you can snag a spot. Plenty of space along the front windows for quick drinkers. They have a restroom downstairs that's shared. read more

Swallow Cafe - Iced Latte (16oz) - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Cobble Hill, New York

I wish the matcha latte I ordered was better because this place has very welcoming staff and a really nice and work-friendly seating area. When my friend and I stopped by it was packed with people on laptops, and it seemed like there were some outlets as well. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be coming back despite the seating, because my matcha latte was absolutely awful and so overpriced. I was worried when I saw it being halfheartedly whisked by the barista and sure enough, there were clumps of powder on the bottom and it was essentially green milk. They only put one small spoonful of matcha so even if it were to be evenly mixed I doubt the matcha flavour would have been strong enough. The only pro is that they don't add sugar. At just under $7 total, I'd have been better off just buying a gallon of milk and some green dye at the supermarket. read more

Really good coffee and delicious foods! The interior is really cute--my favorite spot to sit at is the lofted area. It's super cozy, and it's cool to look out across the whole cafe. Their sandwiches and smoothies are also amazing. They're priced pretty affordably, too. I'd also say this is a good cafe to work at. There were a ton of people working here, and even with so many people on their wifi, it was lightning fast! I was even able to take a meeting, camera on, and there were no lags. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. Plenty of outdoor seating too, which is so lovely in the warmer weather. read more

Friendly and fast service, good iced latte, strawberry lemonade was good but a little heavy on the sour lemon, nice indoor seating area.

Only reason that I came over because of the "great working cafe"review, but it was WRONG. Everyone was looking for the outlet, Cafe has a outlet only along the wall which is good enough for the ppl next to the wall, but Mine (4 outlet) were NONE of them are working, I couldnt charge my phone or using laptop. I had to asking the ppl behind of me to rend me one of the 4 from hers, but only 2 out of 4 working for another outlet. And I saw another "competitor" customer was asking/seeking for actually working outlet. Wifi is working, but BEAWARE outlet is NOT working, all staff seems know about it-- I almost thinking that they do not want the people with notebook. Please fix the outlet for the long sight view for business. read more

Swallow Cafe has probably one of the best matcha lattes I've ever had! I ordered mine with oat milk and sweetened (with honey) and it was so creamy and delicious. I tried to pace myself drinking it - since it was $7 - but it was so delicious! Their coffee is also good but if I'm going to be spending that much on a drink there, I'll definitely be reordering their matcha! Their cafe is really cute and has a unique lay out. They have some in door seating - with a cool mini loft area - and there are many tables outside. My friend with me ordered a sandwich and only said great things about it! I'll probably go another time to try their food. They also had some pastries that looked delicious. Only marking down because it's kind of expensive but I highly recommend and will be going again! read more

This is a very pricey small coffee shop. Matcha latte was pretty terrible and their iced tea was barely flavored. I prefer the coffee heavily at some of the places on Court. I don't find the baristas and others particularly nice. I tried breakfast once which wasn't that good either. I might literally live two blocks away but I still don't stop here. read more

I wish I could say my last experience here was a good one, but I became uncomfortable. As a regular patron of this coffee shop, I have never experienced an aggressive encounter. I was sitting at a table, doing the work I needed to do and minding my own business, when one of the baristas approached me, stating that the table I was at was for people of bigger groups and that I had to move, and that I either needed buy something or leave. The issue was not me having to move seats or to pay, the issue is I did not appreciate the barista's tone with me. When I stated to the barista that I have come to this coffee shop multiple times before and no one ever approached me about needing to pay in order to use the space to work and it was never an issue beforehand, she responded in an aggressive tone saying, "Well, this is a coffee shop." I have no problem following the rules, or learning about unwritten rules I was not aware of, but when I am experiencing micro-aggressions towards me, this is something I do not appreciate and I felt disrespected. It is a shame that this encounter ruined what was a previous, joyous experience for me. read more

Drinks are mid. Kind of pricey, and $2 extra for no ice, which seems like a lot. The space is nice for doing work, though.

I've been to quite a lot of cafes, and this one takes the cake! The many times I've dined in and took the time to enjoy its ambience, food and decadent coffee I'm left feeling brighter about my day and the state of our world. Snarky and rude is how I would describe the strawberry blond gal who took my very simple order. When the oatmeal didn't arrive after OVER 10 minutes, I inquired and was told in a just amazingly rude tone that they would bring it out when ready. After another 8 minutes (because I am now watching) I ask again to the other person behind the counter (because I know the strawberry blond is useless AND rude.) I realize she NEVER put the order in and didn't bother to check the first time I asked. The other person behind the counter brought it out to me after I asked her to make to to go since I was now late for an appointment. NEVER NEVER EVER EVER will I spend a dime in that coffee shop again. read more

Absolute disappointment! It was such a disappointment that I didn't even want to take my time and write this, but you know what why not because this level of service well deserved this! This was a place where i was always grabbing my morning coffee and pastry for months since it is super close to where i work. Then, i decided to order my lunch which was swallow sandwich with chicken in Easter day through grubhub pick up. After i ate it, in 3 hours i had a full blown chicken poisoning from it for f... 11 hours!!! It was something that i have never experienced before. First thing in the morning, i tried to find their email to reach out and tell them what happened but guess what there is no single email account to reach! As a person who worked in a restaurant in both FOH and BOH for years and has food safety training i felt responsibility to warn and i gave them a call. However, the first thing i heard was "We can make you a refund if you come here today" and i said: "After 11 hours poisoning nightmare, i do not care about $15 but i do care not to make other people sick!" And that was the moment Thank you and sorry came to the conversation!!!! Just passing by and Never again! read more

Really cute place on Atlantic. It's hard to find a coffee shop that has seating and Swallow has quite a few tables. Cute design and both spots to do work or eat/drink. I liked the little staircase upstairs to a few more tables as well. Noise level for a coffee shop was pretty good and you didn't feel like you were on top of one another which is rare. Service was great and prices were well...average for nyc/brooklyn coffee :p read more

A unique and memorable name for such a cute cafe. Did I think of the cute and cuddly species of Swallow birds? of course not! I thought of those times when you don't leave anything behind. Bottom line is I wanted caffeine and this place conveniently drew me in. The decor and aesthetics of the cafe is one to admire. It's was previously a Lebanese restaurant so it still holds a lot of character from the previous occupants. My iced liquid crack, I mean "coffee" was pretty decent but lacked more flavor from the homemade vanilla flavored syrup. The syrup was a unique blend of vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon. It was a unique taste but lacked a little umph. Overall this looks like a nice place to get some work done and take advantage of the free wifi, while enjoying breakfast treats. read more

I've had coffee here several times and I just don't get understand the hype. It is VERY expensive. This is coming from someone who loves expensive coffee and has no problems convincing myself it's worth it. I do appreciate they use counter culture but you can go across the street to key foods and buy an entire bag of counter culture for the price of one latte here. Further, the few times I've been here the lattes have been weird and flavorless. The baristas aren't the friendliest either, so really there is zero draw for me to come here. In my opinion Espresso Me is much better value and a much more delicious option. Just walk down the block and get a much better cup or coffee. read more

Such unfriendly and unwelcoming service. Cute little spot! I love how industrial Swallow Cafe is and I love the stairs that lead upstairs for a more intimate seating area. Definitely a cozy atmosphere that you can get in this neighborhood. The staff here is really nice and helpful. There is wifi and honestly it was very peaceful when I went, only a few people working. We ordered drinks: cappuccino, iced earl grey tea (my fav!) and iced green tea. All were good. You can also get smoothies and actual food here - the menu looked good. I was a little confused at first thinking I was in Tripoli because that is what's listed on building, but Tripoli is downstairs and Swallow is on the ground floor.
