Hamlet is just great. First came here when working in the area back in 2023 and my go to was the iced, oat matcha. I'd always get a muffin or some sort of pastry to pair. Not much has changed. I'm back to working in the area so every so often I walk or bike over for an iced matcha and either the addictive blueberry muffin or sweet potato loaf. The staff are always warm and service is efficient. The design is minimal but just the right amount attention to detail. The backyard is cozy and is perfect for sipping in the afternoon. Overall, a great community space. Happy to have it around. read more

It isn't easy to find a cafe with seating, so I was so happy that I stumbled upon Hamlet Coffee. I stopped by to get work done and change the environment while working remotely. This coffee shop has a variety of seating options: there is open space in the front as well as a cafeteria table and coffee tables in the back. Each table had classroom chairs (talk about a walk down memory lane!). Other accommodations here include a bathroom and an outdoor patio. While here, I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and a chai latte. The prices were pretty affordable. While here, I was able to lock in and get work done. Overall, I like this coffee shop and will definitely stop by when I'm in the neighborhood read more

I'm not a coffee snob or anything close but the coffee here is GOOD! Makes sense why the place is always super busy. I came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a few ppl inside getting work done/ hanging out. I got a maple oat milk latte (they do not have almond milk, only oat & macadamia as alt milk options) and a slice of banana bread. Both were absolutely delicious and were the perfect snack to satisfy my sweets craving. The staff there were welcoming & service was fast. I spent $11 on the two items which is average for the area. This is a small & simplistic coffee shop offering basic ingredients for those who keep their orders simple. They offer a handful of pastries and a little back area with tables for those who want to enjoy in-house, along with a couch in the front of the shop (free books to read while enjoying your coffee). The service was quick but I was disappointed they didn't have any sugar-free syrups or some of the basic milk alternatives (I.e. no almond milk, if that's your thing). One of the better coffeeshops in Brooklyn. Drinks are quality - from the espresso pulls to the cappuccinos, to the beautiful yellow and pastel green cups that the lattes are served in. The entire menu is no frills and executed well. The foam art on one of our matcha lattes was cut so crisp and clean I wanted to take a picture and frame it on the wall. I'd come here daily if I lived in Brooklyn. You can bike around Prospect Park and go to the Brooklyn Museum afterward. Nice space. I also learned about some great new places across the U.S. based on the bags of beans they have for sale - Huckleberry Roasters in Colorado, Passenger Coffee in Lancaster, PA, and Boxcar Coffee Roasters in Denver. On my bucketlist for when I live the Winnebago van life dream someday. read more

The Hamlet is a great coffee option in PLG. There's almost always a line in the morning, the coffee is good. The milk alternatives are oat or macadamia. My only gripe is the largest cup size still feels a little small. They have pastries and breakfast tacos available. It's a quiet space good for working, reading, or small catch up. The backyard is really great when the weather permits as well. Staff is always friendly. I recommend the pumpkin spice latte. read more

Incredibly delicious coffee. The best cappuccino I've had in the neighborhood. Hamlet is a spacious and industrial-style neighborhood coffee spot. On a weekday, it's full of people on their laptops (which they may want to have better regulation for), but overall there's a lot of space and even more in the warmer months (outdoor backyard). Wish this place weren't so packed on weekday mornings, but man is their coffee solid! Their cold brew is very fruit-forward and is perfect served black, although it might not be to everyone's taste. A perfect spot to do some work enjoy coffee and/or work (or play League of Legends as one customer was doing hahaha). Got the cappuccino and a mocha with macadamia nut milk. Both had tasted solid and nothing was over extracted, burnt tasting, etc. Also, never seen any other coffee shop that pairs macadamia but milk! They have a spacious indoor and outdoor area, wifi, and friendly staff. Finally, they sell coffee from roasters that are local to far away (when I went in, they were selling coffee from a roaster in Arkansas!). Everything you want and need in a coffeeshop right here in PLG. It's really is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I love to order a Matcha Latte and sit and get some work done. It is very spacious with ample space to sit. There's also an outdoor space which I'm sure is a hit during the warmer seasons. They actually have different seating set ups depending on how you like to get work done. They have the bar stools facing outside if you are a people watcher. There's a sofa if you're into being laid back and cushy while working. Then there is a picnic table seating if it's a group of you and the standard seating for 2. I've been here a few times and I can say that it's always clean which is HUGE for me so 5/5 from me! They allow you to get breakfast from the spot next door which is really nice. read more

I have been in Flatbush since November and didn't realize this coffeehouse existed. I often walk up Lincoln Road from Brooklyn Ave to Prospect Park and never noticed this hidden gem. I had just moved back to NYC from SF and would have enjoyed grabbing a drip and baked good at Hamlet while I was doing my employment search last year. My head is always on a swivel for coffee shops, restaurants etc, whenever I land in a new neighborhood. I'm far from a Luddite, but I like to discover these spots organically (discovering while out for walks and word of mouth). I found Hamlet this morning because I was out of Bustelo and did a yelp search. Where I normally go for coffee in the neighborhood wasn't open yet. You really should consider a simple sign hanging perpendicular from the building. I love the minimal branding. So a sign with a coffee cup or "coffee" written out with the typewriter font would do the trick. It would also put you on the radar for passing cyclists and cars and get those impulse purchases. Oh, yeah. The coffee was very good, the service was friendly and the space looked like a nice place to bang away on your laptop or catch up on reading. read more

A nice coffee shop with a clean aesthetic. Lady at the front took our order quickly and drinks came out in similar fashion. We ordered a cold brew, hojicha tea, blueberry turnover, banana bread, caramels, and toasted sesame shortbread. The banana bread was a great deal with how large/dense the slice was. The turnover was delicious and not overbearing with the filling. Caramels were so good I went back for another. Drinks were great. Hojicha came with tons of leaves so the tea was strong if you wanted. The cold brew was clean and had no flavor notes of cutting corners of how long it takes to brew it (no roasty/burn flavors) Had a nice chat with the Asian lady working the register about coffee (I am HUGE coffee person) and she was genuinely interested about coffee and wanting to share as well. Really enjoyed this place and will try to make it back out again! Oh one side note: no dogs allowed so that made me sad since I'm almost always with mine. read more

For a specialty coffee house, the drip coffee was mediocre, a bit dusty. Chai was basically flavorless. When I ordered, 3 baristas stood at the register silently and stared at me like I had 3 heads. Really weird and vaguely hostile. There's a lot of competition for good coffee in Brooklyn. They have the decor and bad service down, but they didn't quite get over the line with the product. read more

I watched this place open near my apartment, and it is an adorable welcoming space. Amazingly they survived through Covid (opening in March 2020). They have really good coffee, the kind where adding Vanilla to it is a waste-which is I assume why they don't offer any flavoring besides simple syrup. The women who own and run the store are kind, friendly, and make your drinks with care. I am excited one day to sit in their beautiful seating area with a book, but until then, I will continue to buy their delicious lattes!" Hands down my favorite spot in PLG/Little Caribbean. Fantastic staff, chill music, great tasting coffee, and the most space to work out of anywhere in the neighborhood. They have a nice backyard. The prices are always a bit of a shock after living in Italy but the ambiance--exceptionally clean for a brooklyn cafe, comfortable, yet sometimes frigid aircon--and the ability to pop open the laptop for a bit with nearby outlets makes it ok. This is a great coffee shop! My friend is staying with me from LA and she wanted to get coffee this morning. I always go to PLG, but at the time it was closed. I remember passing by hamlet a few times, so I suggested we go there. Laura, was so friendly and welcomed us graciously. She even asked what pieces of the loaf we wanted "the middle or the end"--that blew me away. What great customer service. The place is clean, quite and cozy. Also loved that there was a person in a Rex costume making coffee on Halloween. read more
