One of my new favorite coffee shops in the PLG area! It's cute, has a nice selection of baked goods, has a decent amount of sitting space, and also has a bathroom. Great place to chill with a book and read for a few hours. Coffee/espresso is high quality (lattes are great) and don't overlook their hot chocolate either.

This is a small & simplistic coffee shop offering basic ingredients for those who keep their orders simple. They offer a handful of pastries and a little back area with tables for those who want to enjoy in-house, along with a couch in the front of the shop (free books to read while enjoying your coffee). The service was quick but I was disappointed they didn't have any sugar-free syrups or some of the basic milk alternatives (I.e. no almond milk, if that's your thing). Their olive twist croissant was extra crunchy.

One of the better coffeeshops in Brooklyn. Drinks are quality - from the espresso pulls to the cappuccinos, to the beautiful yellow and pastel green cups that the lattes are served in. The entire menu is no frills and executed well. The foam art on one of our matcha lattes was cut so crisp and clean I wanted to take a picture and frame it on the wall. I'd come here daily if I lived in Brooklyn. You can bike around Prospect Park and go to the Brooklyn Museum afterward. Nice space. I also learned about some great new places across the U.S. based on the bags of beans they have for sale - Huckleberry Roasters in Colorado, Passenger Coffee in Lancaster, PA, and Boxcar Coffee Roasters in Denver. On my bucketlist for when I live the Winnebago van life dream someday.

    Beautifully done espresso drinks.

Everything I'd want in a coffee shop. They have it all here. Amazing: Oat milk lattes and mochas. So smooth. Delicious. It's like they found the perfect espresso to blend. Or, they simply create things with care, here. One can taste it in everything. People working here. So kind & thoughtful. I hope they receive a lot of neighborhood appreciation. Work spaces. Four available! 1) A long table by the light of the window 2) An indoor couch 3) Shared indoor tables in back 4) Outdoor tables Wifi and Quiet. Good music. Quality pastries. This is an ideal spot to work. I feel welcome. Each person is so present. Everything is kept so clean. Make sure to bring vax proof for full use of this lovely space. Best in the area. Korean-run and owned. Yes. I also happened to run into a beloved friend from LA here! A magical spot.

My new favorite coffee spot. Quick and friendly service made it easy to check out. Nice ambiance with cute outdoor seating also available. I just love a nice hot cup of coffee or latte and this place does it for me

Wish this place weren't so packed on weekday mornings, but man is their coffee solid! Their cold brew is very fruit-forward and is perfect served black, although it might not be to everyone's taste. The cappuccino is nutty and perfect for a cold day. Nestled between two residential blocks in PLG/Flatbush, the best word to describe Hamlet is "cozy."

As an active matcha drinker, I must say Hamlet delivered a delicious matcha worth leaving a review about. The service was quick and pleasant. The ambiance of the shop is delightful as well. Minimal, satisfying, and a great place to either pop into or to stay a while. Thanks for serving me a great matcha, and for crushing the rush on a rainy Saturday!

I have been in Flatbush since November and didn't realize this coffeehouse existed. I often walk up Lincoln Road from Brooklyn Ave to Prospect Park and never noticed this hidden gem. I had just moved back to NYC from SF and would have enjoyed grabbing a drip and baked good at Hamlet while I was doing my employment search last year. My head is always on a swivel for coffee shops, restaurants etc, whenever I land in a new neighborhood. I'm far from a Luddite, but I like to discover these spots organically (discovering while out for walks and word of mouth). I found Hamlet this morning because I was out of Bustelo and did a yelp search. Where I normally go for coffee in the neighborhood wasn't open yet. You really should consider a simple sign hanging perpendicular from the building. I love the minimal branding. So a sign with a coffee cup or "coffee" written out with the typewriter font would do the trick. It would also put you on the radar for passing cyclists and cars and get those impulse purchases. Oh, yeah. The coffee was very good, the service was friendly and the space looked like a nice place to bang away on your laptop or catch up on reading.

The best coffee place in the neighborhood by a country mile. So good. The espresso is incredible. Pastries on point as well.

The burger was fresh, juicy, and not greasy at all just really well made. The tater tots were crispy and delicious without feeling oily, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere was just as good as the food comfy, relaxed, and full of a really nice vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your time. On top of that, the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I'd go back to!

And I gotta say, the bartender is doing work. He's the only one working and the whole place is filled up and he manages it very well. They have food and drinks, mocktails included. I love it here. It's very cozy and homey. But just remember to be courteous, that this is a business so it's okay to do work here but if you're gonna be chilling for a while make sure you're getting some drinks every hour or tipping the 'tender. Also careful with some of the hot drinks they can be really.... hot. I burnt the roof of my tongue on my hot cider drink.

Got brunch here on a Sunday with a friend. We split the Hot Honey Gem Salad and Hottokeki (Japanese…read moresoufflé pancake). The pancake is gigantic and is absolutely meant to be shared. It was really fluffy and smelled soooo good (reminiscent of the HK street cart waffles). But because it's so big, by the time we ate half of it, we were getting a little tired of the same taste. The salad was good but nothing to rave about. For drinks, we tried the Lebowski-San and Kettl Hojicha Kombucha. It was my first time trying a clarified cocktail and it was really unique. I thought there would be more ice cream honestly but I still loved it. The kombucha though was shockingly tasty. I loved it so much that I bought a bottle online once I got home (they're from Kettl, a local distillery in Brooklyn). The venue is really spacious and I actually planned a wedding here in the past. They host a lot of events and there was even a birthday party happening when I ate there. The only downside is the location. The only train that goes there is the G so it's a bit hard to get to. Food: Hot Honey Gem Salad (radish, buckwheat, fennel, yuzu vinaigrette) 9/10 Hottokeki / Japanese Soufflé Pancake (fluffy hotcake, honey maple butter, sesame) 9/10 Add Mini White Sesame Soft Serve (soy milk, sesame oil) 10/10 - I would recommend just getting this on its own instead of the Hottokeki if you're craving just a little dessert. Drinks: Lebowski-San (green tea shochu, pisco, sakura leaf, clarified matcha ice cream, cold brew coffee floater) 9/10 - This is a clarified cocktail which I didn't expect. I thought I was ordering a matcha ice cream-like drink so although the drink was good, all the ingredients are very subtle in flavor. Kettl x Unified Ferments 'Hojicha' Kombucha (jou yanagi hojicha) 10/10 - This is an absolute must-try!

Last I was here was for brunch and we sat in the outdoor patio area. We got a two things to share and a main each. Shared plates were the soufflé pancake and silken tofu. Both were a miss for me. The pancake had a baking soda aftertaste and also they brought it out right away instead of after we finished our mains so it sat around in the table for a while until we were ready to eat it. Silken tofu had a mediocre flavor palette. There was no variation in texture either, just one plate of mushy items. We didn't finish either one of those. For a main, I ordered a a Wagyu beef bowl. It was really good but on the smaller side. The service was attentive aside from a spillage when the order came. Then they started placing plates on top of the spill instead of wiping the table. Eventually they cleaned it but overall there was lack of training in this case. I am not dying to come back here but would consider if I'm in the area again. I really like the actual space but food/service can improve.
