Very good coffee at a cute spot in Park Slope. We sat at the window because inside was a bit too hot (and full! people be squatting with their laptops), but we enjoyed our coffee and baked goods. The cheddar chive scone was better than the chai cruffin. We would not go back for those pastries specifically, but we are looking forward to trying others. My friend and I were in the Park Slope area looking for a cafe to to grab some coffee and hang out in after lunch, and we came across this charming cafe. It was warm and cozy inside, a great spot to stop by for a warm cup of coffee to escape from the cold. Staff was very nice and welcoming. I got a nutella coffee which was delicious and not too sweet. Meanwhile my friend got the biscoff latte which she loved so much that she ordered a second one haha. They also have a variety of pastries to pair with your drinks and we got a yummy cookie to share. The cafe was so relaxing, we found ourselves hanging out and catching up in the cafe for a while. They even have a shelf for board games which was cool. Definitely want to come back again! read more

I was looking for an afternoon caffeine fueled, pick me up and found this gorgeous coffee shop, in the middle of Park Slope. the aesthetic is pristine. The decor is modern, light and inviting. The owners are a lovely husband and wife duo, that are so welcoming, funny and warm, they offer everything you would want in a neighborhood expresso bar. I could've spent my entire afternoon talking with the wife/barista/ owner, unfortunately I had errands to run. COFFEE I ordered an iced London fog and a hot Nutella latte. Coffee was a 10/10, they make the drinks exactly how you like it without complaint. The coffee is strong without being bitter. I like this place a lot. The owners often work the counter and they're good people. Coffee and pastries are yummy and I like that there are healthy breakfast options like egg sandwiches or other savory things for when you don't want the first thing you eat in the morning to be a sugary pastry. I like eating those too, but some day I gotta force myself to have something more nutritious. I think they might also have a back yard to sit in, but I'm not sure as I've never been past that mystery door with the sunlight beaming out from it. What a great addition to BK, and it all starts with the warm and friendly owners, Jenny and Sean. We've already been a few times and have become hooked on the iced cappuccini, which Sean crafts to perfection. The foam isn't what you find in most other varieties. Sean's version is pillowy and creamy, and complements the well-crafted espresso shot perfectly. This is such a wonderful neighborhood spot, and we wish we lived (much) closer to stop in more often to grab some drinks and chit chat with Jenny and Sean. read more

The coffee here is excellent. No doubt about that. There are a few things they can work on, though. First, the bathroom has had an out of order sign on it for many, many months. I can only assume that this means that the bathroom is in fact not out of order, but simply not for customers to use. (I've seen the owner go in and out of the restroom, however...) That is just... weird and rude and disrespectful to customers, I think. It feels slimy and mean to lie about it for so many months. At best, even if it is somehow actually broken for this long, it's bad management & service. Second, this feels futile since so many do it, but this is a coffee shop that charges you extra when you ask for a tiny bit of oat milk in a drip coffee. All of that said, the coffee, pastries, and ambiance at Volare are excellent. I hope they will show respect for their customers by reconsidering the bathroom issue. ---- Response to owner response: that's good to know, but that's very confusing. I hope you'll reconsider. Perhaps a key system instead as a way to stop non-customers from using the bathroom. read more

Volare is my absolute favorite place in all of NYC to grab coffee. My partner and I come here to work on the weekends, and the ambiance is perfect. Always enough seating, great lighting and music, and obviously amazing coffee/tea. We travel about 45 minutes JUST to come to Volare! Beyond the shop itself, the owners are so kind! It's a family business and they treat their customers like family, too. We've been traveling a lot and haven't been in for well over a month, but they remembered us and asked how we were. I had a terrible experience at this establishment Before yesterday (10/24) I've been to this place multiple times for coffee and pastries and had great experiences each time. the ladies who served me were always kind and friendly and made me feel welcomed, but yesterday was completely different... when I arrived I went to a table to setup up my laptop. When I noticed my WiFi was not connected I went to the cashier/ barista to ask for the WiFi information where I was rudely welcomed by a guy demanding I buy something before he gave me the WiFi... "you're not a customer" in a very defensive undertone (assuming I wasn't going to buy anything). I understand store policies. So I even gave him the benefit of the doubt and was going to get something right then and there just to save the hassle, but after seeing his rude demeanor even after mentioning I've been to the establishment multiple times before; he responded by saying "I've never seen you before." I cancelled my order and walked out. It was clear I was unwelcomed there. I regret ever spending money at this place. Ps: I'm an African American man who hates using the race card... but I'll let you be the judge. read more
