Sit & Wonder is located right on Washington ave near the Brooklyn museum. The coffee shop felt very homey once I entered and was instantly greeted. I ordered a small coffee (wish it was a bit hotter, especially since it was such a cold day) and found a spot to do some work inside. There were lots of plugs and I liked that the seats are high to the countertop. There's beautiful art all throughout the cafe including the bathroom. Check it out the next time you're in crown heights!
It's a cruel joke to promise a muffaletta to a girl missing NOLA, only to turn around and serve a VEGAN VERSION that's SO GOOD that it's making me sit in this cafe and question my life choices. Clearly I've done something right if life brought me on the path to stumble upon this little gem. And it was only $8. At first I questioned if I should take it home and add meat to it. But NAY! Such perfection should not be tampered with. This sandwich tastes like what one would expect from a chef who worked in a Michelin star restaurant and then decided to rage against the machine and serve affordable food that has no business being this good... A la The Bear. This food tastes like God created it on the 7th day because he wanted a Heavenly snack to enjoy while he appreciated his creations. This food tastes like the hidden treasure at the end of an epic hero's quest. I apologize for ever doubting you, Sit and Wonder. I am no longer that same woman who wandered in, foolishly seeking what would doubtfully have been a lesser experience. Light and love
Such a cute and cozy spot to sit and have a hot drink, meet a friend, read, etc. Delicious coffee and pastries, excellent service and the house made almond milk is a must try -- super creamy and smooth! If you like sweet drinks, go for the maple latte which has a delicious house made maple mix + the house made almond milk! Seating on the street or in their back garden. Alanna is an absolute gem who makes Sit & Wonder extra warm and welcoming. Love this spot!
Really delicious mocha at Sit&Wonder. Inside space has minimal seating, but the backyard is delightful if it's not too chilly. They make a really lovely mocha that's not too sweet (and of course the lovely latte art). I've been once before nearly a decade ago and it's only gotten better. Side note - the hours have changed. They're only open until 3/4p depending on the day.

No indoor seating as of now but they have a small covered outdoor backyard with 2-3 small tables and a larger table in the middle, so I snagged a smaller one with two friends. The folks working behind the counter were friendly and chill, making the experience a pretty relaxed affair (as coffeeshop lounging should be). Pretty standard menu featuring your usual espresso drinks + some specialty lattes including the maple and almond latte. And bonus: they make their own almond milk! They have a few breakfast sandwiches and fresh baked pastries on their menu (muffins, croissants, pain au chocolate, etc). I tried the chocolate croissant and it was tasty & fresh. The menu and bev items are all pretty standard in variety and taste but this little coffeeshop is there for you to offer a little escape when you need it.
This was the second time I've been to Sit & Wonder, and just like my first time, my experience was great! I first stumbled on this coffee shop on my way back from a dentist appointment. I was looking for a cute place to quickly grab a cup of coffee before I headed back to work. The inside of the coffee shop is super cute and cozy. There isn't a ton of indoor seating, but I've never had too much of an issue finding a seat. The staff is friendly and quick to make orders. When I came in with friends they noticed us starting to sit down and asked if we wanted our drinks in mugs instead of paper cups - which was so nice of them! The cafe also has a very cute backyard area. It being winter right now, I didn't want to sit outside, but I can't wait to come back in the summer and try out the back patio area! Also prices for coffee are pretty good here. My oat cappuccino was $4.50 before tip and had I gotten regular milk I believe it would be been $4

I first tried Stumptown Coffee when I was in Seattle and was pretty impressed. It seems, however, that although I heard rumour about two years ago that this or that coffee shop carried Stumptown, it wasn't that easy to find, though I could be wrong. Then, I move out of New York and came back to find that it's been distributed fairly well to coffee shops and even restaurants. You'd think it's not so special anymore, but screw that! Them folks know how to roast a bean. That said, even when you start with the right beans, you're not necessarily going to have a cup of the same quality as you will find at a Stumptown coffee house. I'm happy to report that at Sit and Wonder, you do! The baristas prepare each cup with care and the result is a perfectly smooth latté. I normally don't order lattés, but when trying a place for the first time, I find that it's a good test and less of a risk than my usual Americano. Besides the coffee, Sit & Wonder has the perfect environment to...you guessed it...sit & wonder, or sip & wonder, or sit & sip, or sip & read or sip & be on your laptop (plenty of outlets, too). Or be on your lap top & wonder. Wow, the possibilities sure are endless with a good cup of coffee and a decent place to sit, aren't they? Delish scones, too. And holyfuckomg lemon ginger muffins.
I came here cos there was a half an hour wait at little egg. They were pretty empty at 11am on a Sunday and it was a lovely day outside. They took my order immediately and the coffee took about 5 mins to make. They have a long bar at the batista counter I love the colors of the space and the bathroom was super clean. they have a large patio seating area in the back as well, It would be lovely in the summer time! I sat out front in the sunshine- the coffee was the perfect touch :) read more
Another local coffee shop that I had on my list to try. I ordered their maple latte (hot and with almond milk) and grabbed DANK banana bread loaf. Prices were pretty average for the area. My total was $11 something. The latte was $5 and the loaf was $6. I enjoyed my maple latte. I have never had a maple flavored latte until today. I asked the baristas if it was already sweet or needed any sugar? They told me that it's pretty sweet by itself. No need for any more sugar. They were correct. But it wasn't so sweet where it was unappetizing. It was just right. For me, I got more of a tangy feel in my mouth rather than sweet... like when you eat syrup on its own; not on a pancake or waffle (if this makes sense). The espresso mixed in just right. No burnt taste. So I appreciated the well-made latte that I received today. The DANK loaf was heavy in that I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. It was great! A plus for me is that it is vegan. The DANK brand is a vegan one. It was a great addition to my maple latte. The cafe has plenty of space for people to sit and even hang around for a conversation or to do work. When I went, there was plenty of that going on. It was a chill atmosphere. I will likely return to try more of their lattes, coffee, and treats. read more

A definite oasis to the hood with a solid latte that comes with friendly smiles and a very chilled back patio for people to relax in. Since I don't live around this neighborhood, I can't see myself swinging back here but if I was craving for good quality stumptown coffee and I happened to be nearby, well then they would certainly see my face again! Best of all, I like the fact that they also provide almond milk and even raw sugar syrup as an added choice for me to dress up my drink. Kudos S&W, kudos!! read more

Wednesday morning rush wasn't too bad at this coffee shop. Moderate wait time allowed me to look over the menu off to the side - displaying many specials and even boasting about homemade scones. Wanted to get their homemade blueberry scone, but they didn't have any available yet. Instead, settled on the Cheddar Chive Scone ($3ish) and a Large Maple Latte ($4ish). Scone is okay, dulled flavor in such a big pastry (should have opted to add butter/jam). Maple latte has big maple-ish taste and provided a moderate kick. There was still some stool seating available - couldn't sit & wonder inside however. Overall an okay experience, would want to try their normal muffin+coffee next time. read more
The Sit & Wonder is my platonic ideal of a coffee shop, with maybe one tiny reservation.... EVERYONE ELSE loves it here too, so there is rarely space to sit if you arrive too late on a weekend morning (10am is definitely too late). As a native of the Pacific Northwest, I have a special place in my heart for the Stumptown coffee. I can't remember where Sit & Wonder get their croissants, but they are the best around. They also serve a selection of a few Dough donuts -- usually dulce de leche, hibiscus, and one or two others. Sandwiches are made fresh and kept rolled up in brown paper in the mini fridge in the corner, with yogurts and juices. I have moved out of the neighborhood, but I still make a point to stop in when I am back in the area. If you are here at closing, sometimes the barista will give you the leftover pastries! read more

Sit & Wonder is a great stop for coffee if you're in the area and looking for a trendy place that has good beans (they use Stumptown). There are a fair amount of spots to sit and chat or a few tables in the back big enough to work on your laptop and they do have WiFi. There's also a small outdoor area to the back for when it's nice outside. Baked goods look great and made in-house. read more
I wander sometimes... Mostly because of my schedule, in those early afternoons I have time to sit, relax, and let my mind wonder. Without noise, or many people, or distractions. You can only wonder where one's mind would wander... Sit & Wonder is just a place for that. Cozy, simple, friendly and pretty quiet. In summer, backyard is your own paradise. Mismatched chairs, benches, little garden, pots and plants - I am, in all seriousness, feel like home, on my own backyard. Comfortable. And, to add to that, coffee is good, and croissants are wicked. Buttery, light, flaky and messy to eat - just the way best croissants are. If your day need timeout, if you need to relax your mind, and if your taste buds appreciate good bites and sips - then come, Sit & Wonder. It's here. read more

Still my favorite coffee shop in this area. Solid Stumptown coffee options (and non-dairy mix-ins), great pastries (come early if you want the choice Dough flavors), always friendly service, good wifi, (usually) sufficient seating (the bar stools at the front are a bit uncomfortable but are a prime people watching spot), nice backyard space, good music selection, they make their own almond milk and always laid back unpretentious vibe-- great for reading, doing work, chatting or sitting and wondering! read more

Another coffee spot on my list for having backyard seating, which is very nice. Although, I don't believe they have outlets back there. I looked, but perhaps I missed them. They don't take credit cards. Bummer. With that said, I'm extremely glad I found cash on me to purchase a Gruyère and asparagus croissant. The. Best. Thing. Ever. I didn't realize a croissant could get better. It can. read more

Quality local coffee shop offering Stumptown drinks, sandwiches, pastries, indoor/outdoor seating, a backyard, and free WiFi. $5 minimum on credit cards. Mix of Macbook users and people socially getting coffee. Vibe = local Brooklyn coffee place, not the super modern type. Staff is nice. Half off pastries from 5pm-7pm, when they close. Chilling in the backyard is really nice. read more

Sit and wonder.... we did just that..... Dropped by for coffee after our visit to Brooklyn Museum. The weather was nice and it was great to have coffee and rest outside the sitting area in their backyard. latte - good and I did not even add any sugar read more
