This smaller hole-in-the wall Peck's outpost lacks the main branch's excellent sandwiches--not to mention any semblance of its efficiency. The shop is tiny and cramped (pretty much all the time, but particularly if you try to pop in around drop off or pick up times at the nearby PS 20), unconfortable even if you find a seat with the unwieldly line running down the center of the shop. While the product here is high quality, the experience is random and slow. Even on the rare uncrowded occasion, I've waited a seeming eternity for one cortado. If you do go, they have excellent cold brew and some solid pastries, including an interesting cherry rye muffin. But make sure you've got some time to spare, and take it to go or see if you can snag a rare outdoor seat!! read more

A girlfriend introduced me to this window this afternoon on our way to the park. What a cute little spot - and it seems still to have quite a following despite the covid-19 + winter era. She recommended the hot chocolate with almond milk, and it was a an awesome treat without being too sweet. It was perfect for walking around the park. I also splurged on a black and white cookie - which obviously was a bit sweeter. It had the perfect amount of fluffiness and wasn't doused in the frosting. There were lots of other good-looking sweet and savory baked goods in the window, including vegan options. I would come back for more and any of it! read more

Awful pastry once again:( this time i tried a triangular poppy seeded thing with potato inside, $5.50! ate couple bites and threw it out; had stomach ache after. I've been to Peckish at least 10 times by now for the pastries and coffee, so it's safe to safe it's become one of my go-to spots. I go in the mornings around 8/9am, and if it's a nice day there's often a line but it moves fast. I've tried everything but the muffins, and my all-time favorite pastries are the raisin scone (perhaps one of the best scones I've ever had), the boureka, and the bear claw. The only thing I've gotten here that I didn't like was the cinnamon bun, which was really dry. My only other complaint (which might sound odd) is the to-go coffee cups. I'm not sure how they were designed to be so leaky and unreliable, but I can't go even a few minutes of walking without hot coffee dripping all over my hands! The coffee itself, though, is great, which is why I continue to get it despite it nearly burning my fingers every time. Go to spot when I'm out walking with neighborhood friends. The white hibiscus peach tea was so lovely. My friend had Budapest cake which was wonderful and some drink with chocolate syrup that she raved about (sorry can't remember the name. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. An unassuming little counter serving good coffee and great pastries. I stopped by every Sunday morning before my baby's music class, lined up with a few other people with babies and/or dogs. It's got that family neighborhood vibe which is so nice! In that sense, it's not a destination spot but rather a great option in the area. 4 out of 5 on service, only once was there an unfriendly person. There are a few interesting lattes (the golden turmeric has a kick!), and the iced coffee is strong. Definitely try the cornmeal biscuit with jam and butter, because butter makes everything better! The wait is often 5-10 min, so plan on that! It's a lovely stroll with your fresh coffee and pastry to Ft. Greene Park nearby. read more

Oh man, I'm always looking for cute delicious places to kill an hour between students, (I'm an in home tutor with students all over the city), and holy moley is Peckish exactly what I needed in Clinton Hill. It helped that it was a gorgeous fall afternoon. I ordered a Turkey Club (10/10, literally no notes) and the Hibiscus Tea (Delicious unsweetened), sat on the corner of a bench and enjoyed the good life for a hot minute. Perfect. read more

Peckish is great. Love this location on Willoughby it truly is an integral shop in our lovely neighborhood. The coffee is very good, pastries are great. I have two minor complaints that knock them from a 5-star review: (1) the paper coffee cups are no good. I can't say the last time I got one that didn't leak like crazy. By the time I get home, I'm either wearing half my drink or had to chug it to avoid a mess. Not to mention, hot coffee is hot! (2) since March of 2020, I along with (many) others have made a concerted effort to tip staff more to help them stay open and be important facets of our neighborhoods. What I don't like is being asked, in front of a full line of patrons what tip I want to apply, it's pretty off-putting and can put folks in uncomfortable situations. Just spin the iPad around and I'm happy to add a tip! Otherwise, I love Peckish and it will continue to be my go-to coffee spot as long as I live in the neighborhood. read more

I go to peckish every morning. It has great coffee and pastries, plus the staff is always nice and attentive. It's right next to the park which makes it a great spot for dog owners and runners. I consider this coffee shop one of the best in the neighborhood. read more

My partner ordered an espresso with a blueberry muffin and I ordered a cherry and rye muffin. Both of the muffins were tasty; they weren't overly sweet. The cherry and rye was a different flavor, however, but the blueberry was a classic taste. They did not hold back on adding the blueberries! The espresso he said was not the best he's ever had (it was a little bitter for him) but he said it wasn't bad. All of our items cost 10 bucks, which is pretty reasonable in Brooklyn. Would recommend but we'd probably try another spot next time. read more

Every pastry I have had from this joint has been delicious, and the coffee and service are good. The line can get quite long with all the dogs and strollers, especially on weekends, but it's a consistently good neighborhood coffee spot. read more

Coffee wise, so good. This is my go-to coffee shop. The coffee itself is super tasty, and consistent. The only complaints I have, is that my iced espresso drinks are shorted sometimes. There will be an inch or more of room which sucks because they also only have one size for iced drinks. The employees are always super kind though! read more
