Absolute Coffee is such a charming little spot just off Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn! I first stopped in this past weekend and was instantly hooked the Matcha Latte was fantastic, and the staff were quick, friendly, and super accommodating. I've since become a regular, and it never disappoints. The oat vanilla latte is perfectly balanced is my absolute favorite. Loved that I found this little coffee shop in Brooklyn. We were staying a few blocks away and saw that this spot had good reviews, so we had to check it out. We stopped in around 10am on a Friday and it was decently busy. We were hungry after getting off a red-eye flight and long travel from JFK. We were glad they had food options too. I ordered the special Raspberry Mocha with a ham a Swiss croissant and my mom got a black coffee with a ham and Swiss croissant. My employees were friendly and the service was quick. My mocha was so good. My mom and I both liked the croissant, but we both noticed it was a little cold in the middle. That didn't impact the flavor, but just wish it was warmed up a little more. It really cute inside with several tables. Many people were on their laptops and people consistently kept coming in while we were there, so we know it is a popular spot. read more

They have a decent number of tables inside, supposedly an outdoor area for warmer weather (I'd love to come back for that in the spring but didn't look for it this time). A good spot to get some work done, but everyone seems to know it. The place was packed on a Friday afternoon, with almost everyone working on their laptops. Their wifi reaches outside to their parklet, so it wasn't a problem. However, there aren't any outlets there. Make sure to come with your devices fully charged in case. They still have their winter specials menu. The peppermint mocha had a light amount of peppermint syrup. It stayed warm for quite a bit despite being outside. Coffee is strong. The mocha is just maybe a bit too sweet with all the chocolate. It's not a bad place to get work done. Just keep in mind that you might end up working in the parklet. read more

I live pretty close to this establishment and come here more frequently than other local independent coffee shops. Usually, when I visit during the day, there's a young gentleman who is always very warm and welcoming. He consistently makes the most delicious coffee, and if I ask for something specific, he does it with a smile. You can tell he really values his job and understands customer service. Recently, I started going later in the day, and my experience has been completely different. On three separate occasions, I've been served by a taller person with glasses who sometimes wears their hair in a ponytail. Unfortunately, their attitude is noticeably unpleasant, even though I am always kind and smiling. It seems they are always in a rush or very dismissive. Sorry. The first time I went later, I ordered tea, which is hard to mess up--just a teabag and water--so no complaints there. However, the second time, I ordered a beetroot latte, which I had previously enjoyed when made by the gentleman who works earlier. This time, it was completely watered down. I had asked for extra beet, but because of their attitude, I didn't even feel like going back to point out that they had done the opposite--they barely put any at all. Just this weekend, I brought my mom with me, and we both ordered regular coffee lattes. Both of our drinks tasted completely different. My mom's latte tasted like boiling hot bean water, and mine tasted overly milky, with just a very faint hint of coffee--as if there was half a shot of espresso in it- it was also lukewarm. My mom, who is literally the sweetest person on earth and wouldn't harm a fly, even asked if she had done something to upset the barista because of how unpleasant they seemed. I told her, "Trust me, this is just the way they are." Because of these repeated negative experiences, they've unfortunately lost me as a customer, which is a shame. read more

Their cappuccinos have been consistently tasty, and their chai latte is the right level of spice (rather than being a sugar dump). I hadn't been here in a while. When I was ordering an ice coffee, I asked for a Dough doughnut. Unfortunately, they stopped carrying their doughnuts. They do offer loyalty card. Came here for some coffee and quick breakfast. It's a nice, cozy little spot with good coffee and good sandwiches. It seems difficult to get a seat inside, but the outdoor seating is pretty decent too, although they were having some issues with the heat lamps melting everyone on a relatively warm day when we went. It's "support a local business, Sunday"... today was Absolute Coffee, down on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn. With a day that's nearing 60 degrees, it's easy to utilize their outdoor seating area which fits 12 people comfortably... 6 two-seater tables that are covered by a large, white tarp. The indoor space is clean, rather simple, adheres to Covid regulations and has an A rating from the department of health. That was a mouthful, but a concern of patrons these days so yes, feel good about Absolute's product and how they're conducting business. On to the oat cappuccino! They served up a very, very good beverage. The oat milk was well balanced along with the temperature being pretty close to perfect, making for a great post-workout, people watching, enjoying the day kind of drink. The flavor of their espresso is *amazing.* Not only that, but the owner of Absolute has been staying open during the Coronavirus closures and running his business totally solo. I purchased a bag of coffee to pop into my French press at home, and it's SO good - the Colombian El Jefe. If you live within a 15min walking distance, enjoy a leisurely walk on the empty sidewalks and make your way to Absolute to help support a soldier of an owner. Absolute goodness. It isn't hard to find coffee around here. Too easy to be honest. Getting actual good coffee is more difficult. You can get that here along with some treats. Coffee is the main thing here of course. It has a nice smell as soon as you come in. The inside is cozy and feels like a living room. Coffee comes in large mugs. They also have things to eat like pastries. It's $2.50 for a medium drip coffee. This is simple but it's still one of the best coffees I've had around here. I also like getting something to eat. They have lots of good looking pastries, including some that are vegan. It's about $3 for a piece of the vegan banana nut bread. This is a small piece, but it's dense and so sweet. It has a welcoming atmosphere. It's not as obnoxiously hipster as you expect. The inside doesn't have much room but there's a few tables. read more

Baristas were as sweet and helpful as can be as I was perusing the sweet selection of coffee beans. I ended up ordering an oat milk latte with some caramel sauce. Yes, sauce, not syrup which scores them extra points with me. Besides being super delicious, it gave me a much needed boost and put me in a great mood. I believe their coffee beans are from Gimme Coffee, which is one of my favorites along with Stumptown. Decided to come to this cute coffee shop to study for my exam next week. Walked in and there was only three small empty tables available for seating. Two were between people so I didn't want to squeezed myself into the seat. The other seat was by the door. I realize the tables and chairs was dirty so I had to clean the crumbs and coffee spills off myself. I found more coffee spills on other parts of the seat so I decided not to sit there. I decided to get squeeze into the small tables. The barista was too busy socializing with each other to clean the tables outside. This probably should be standard and common courtesy but unfortunately it isn't a guarantee everywhere in NYC. - I ordered a small and before making it, the barista asked if 8 oz. was okay and showed me the cup. This was such a simple gesture but a huge deal seeing that just earlier this week, I ordered a small latte at another cafe expecting a 12 oz and was presented with a $5 (before tip) 8 oz baby cup. So it was really nice knowing the small was more on the short side beforehand. - Music. So relaxing. In my short stop in, it was a mix of jazz instrumentals. Anyway, lots of words to say, Come! I got an almond milk latte and sat down at one of the small round tables against the wall to study for a little bit. There's free Wi-Fi which is great and the atmosphere is perfect for chats with a friend or two or even a study/work session! The staff was really nice, helpful and friendly. The barista followed my instructions of making my latte extremely hot, without foam. Kudos to her!!! The salmon with the lemon cream cheese and capers was not ok, I was expecting a little more lemon flavor and I expected the capers to have salty/brine taste they usually have. This is a super cute coffee shop in Brooklyn. I usually come here for the pistachio loaf cake and a iced oat latte. They have vegan options as well, which is nice. The lattes are always on point, and they use the oat milk I like, which isn't always the case with other shops. The pistachio loaf cake is gluten free and very filling. Another great place to grab coffee in Brooklyn! I ordered an iced latte which was delicious. I was able to taste the roast of the coffee bean without the flavor getting lost in the brew and milk. The shop has their own coffee beans if you'd like to purchase to bring home. The shop itself is on the larger side than your usual Brooklyn cafe. They have a couple outlets against the wall, communal tables or for large study groups, and smaller tables along the bench seating. The inside is warm an cozy while the outdoor seating is plentiful, but somewhat cold in the winters (there was no heating when I visited). I had their lavender latte with oat milk. I paid $8.50 for it. It was good, but not "$8.50 good". Their music was very loud - sitting near the speakers, it was very difficult to have a conversation with my friend who sitting right in front of me. I tried the spicy Mexican hot chocolate with a shot of expresso and it was delicious! It had a nice spicy bite a at the finish and smooth velvety chocolate taste upon first sip.
