Chocolate croissant
Jessica G.

Decent coffee at decent prices. We came in on a Friday morning during rush hour and ordered a coffee, tea, and a chocolate croissant from the variety of pastries in the display case. The coffee was good quality and not too bitter, which I appreciated. Atmosphere had simple decor and was relatively quiet. We had several people in front of us in line but service was fast. My only critique was the chocolate croissant had a woefully small amount of chocolate inside for my taste. I would gladly come back for the coffee but try a different pastry next time.

Matcha latte
Ashley C.

The matcha latte was basically milk with a spoon of matcha. Couldn't even taste the matcha. I don't drink coffee so I cannot make a review of that.

Compilation Coffee is the new kid on the block, with a solid cup of joe, a work friendly WiFi vibe, bright windows, and friendly staff. Prices are fair for the hood, especially if you're coming to sit for a while. I ordered a hazelnut latte, which was served quickly, hot and foamy, and not too sweet. Compilation also had pastries in a case, and the croissants, muffins, and cookies all looked delicious. I had a pumpkin loaf cake, which was exactly the sugar and fall spice boost I needed. There are multiple places to sit and lounge here. Compilation is probably the best indoor location in the area to take a quick zoom meeting or to write somewhere for an afternoon for a change of scene. (Blank and StarB's nearby don't have seating that invite you to stay.) There is Wi-Fi. Looking forward to seeing more of you Compilation!

But this review is about something bigger than dessert. The strawberry cheesecake here reminds me of my mom. It was her favorite, and it was one of the last desserts I got to share with her. Anytime she wanted a sweet treat, that's what she asked for. Ordering it now keeps me connected to her. This past July, on her 3rd birthday in heaven, I placed an order to celebrate her. The menu only had cherry cheesecake that day, so I wrote a note explaining what the strawberry meant to me. The staff didn't just make it happen, they sent an extra slice of strawberry cheesecake on top of it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. The people here have always been this kind. We love everyone who works there, and we're grateful for the small moments of care they've shown our family. Thank you for everything.

Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain -- A Beautiful Taste of Old Brooklyn!…read more There's something truly special about Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain in Carroll Gardens. It's more than a neighborhood establishment; it's a reminder of the Brooklyn many of us grew up loving, where people knew one another, conversations mattered, and a simple cup of coffee could make your entire day better. From its beautiful old-fashioned espresso machine and exceptional coffee--better than Starbucks or Dunkin', in my opinion--to its delicious cream sodas, this place captures the charm of the old Brooklyn soda fountains, where families gathered for egg creams, chocolate malts, and good conversation. But what truly makes Brooklyn Farmacy special is its people. Pete, his wonderful sister, and the entire staff bring warmth, humor, kindness, and genuine hospitality to everything they do. You walk in as a customer and leave feeling like a neighbor. Carroll Gardens still has that wonderful old Brooklyn soul, beautifully blended with the present. Brooklyn Farmacy embodies that spirit. In a world that moves too fast, Brooklyn Farmacy reminds us how wonderful it feels to slow down, smile, and simply enjoy life. A neighborhood treasure worth celebrating!

This time, we took the F train to Carroll St, walked by a quiet residential area and some busier streets. We ordered and paid by the entrance, given a number and looked for seats. Tables for 4, and along the long counter in the front area; small counter for 3, and 2 round tables in the back, where the restroom also is. Got a reg scoop of Coffee bean- small scoop, with specks of coffee; and a Warm brownie sundae - small for the price of almost $17- 1 regular scoop of ice cream, flanked by brownie (was good, soft and warm), covered with fudge. Asked for whipped cream and cherry on the side. Missing the shaved chocolate. Atmosphere is not lively for a soda fountain but I loved the decor/old pharmacy items. Employees were just working, with straight-faces/no smiles.

This was such a fresh yet hearty entree. The insides of the eggplant are silky smooth and almost melt in your mouth. The muhammara is a nutty red pepper based dip that adds a strong punch of acidic yet sweet flavor while the nuts bring in an earthy crunch. Paired with the hummus from the salatim, it makes a very satisfying entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! They change the salatim and entrees regularly so I would be curious to see what they have at other times of the year.
