I've eaten here several times now, so was surprised I had not written a review yet....but, met up with a girlfriend for lunch and we had a nice table in the corner. Unfortunately and very large group came in and sort of took over the space we were in, so we asked to be moved and out waitress was so gracious about it. I had the most refreshing plate of greens with a creamy lemon vinaigrette and ribbons of beets and carrots - a most perfect summer salad. The salad was quite satisfying so I took my short rib tacos home to share with my husband. He was awfully glad I did - tender, juicy and topped with a very very tasty mango relish and honey chipotle crema. They held up well during the drive home and my husband and I inhaled them....we have been thinking about them ever since.....so I think that means we will head over again soon! read more

Everything was amazing and I never feel that way. Crab cake was huge and the gumbo was perfect. Shrimp with spicy sausage. Lobster Mac n cheese is on my top 3 all time and I go everywhere and try lobster Mac n cheese. Service was great. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Food came out fast too. The place was small (12 or so Indoor tables) but it was very comfortable. Would I go back? I can't wait to go back and I can't wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow. We were at the Whole Foods nearby and decided to grab something to eat, so I opened up Yelp and started looking for restaurants. Lo and behold Graze shows up right next to me and it's a restaurant I haven't been to yet.. exciting! The host was able to sit us immediately and the server was quick to grab us drinks and take our order. I went with the cornflake fried catfish - it was a well decorated dish and tasted pretty good. The exterior was crispy and the fish inside was piping hot. I had a side salad as well but it's not included with the catfish unfortunately (it was included with a separate order of tacos however), but it was good so I recommend to add that on if you can! The drink menu was solid and they had a few ciders I've never tried before, always fun to try new drinks. I definitely think Graze is worth checking out if you are in the area! read more

First time back in about 3 years. Back in Charleston and thought we'd give Graze another chance When walking in for lunch we noticed there were many lights out which made for a dreary vibe. Tables are wood top and showed signs of aging. Very sticky. The entire restaurant is in need of a deep cleaning. Ordered a Rubin and asked if the chef/short order cook could use very little oil or butter. When it arrived it was saturated in cheep oil. After one bite I realized I could not finish it. The waiter was not at all understanding but reluctantly took 50% of the coat off the sandwich off. My wife's salad was very tasty however the chicken was cold and very thinly sliced. I have had Graze bookmarked since moving to the area last month and finally got an opportunity to try it out. It is a small restaurant located in a shopping center next to a State Farm insurance. The inside is super dark so coming outside after dinner nearly blinded us. I was initially disappointed in the menu as there are no gluten free options for appetizers. Thankfully the drinks were good and held me over till my filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus arrived, delicious. My wife ordered the pasta which was too creamy, she ate less than half. Overall good experience, not sure when we will be back given all the restaurants we have yet to try. read more

Looking for a place to eat in MP we stumbled upon Graze. It is very convenient on a shopping mall So there is a lot of easy open parking to choose from. We had luck to find an outdoor table right away and service was overall fast and efficient. We started with the fries which were a big enough portion to share and were really well cooked. For the main meals we tried the cornflake crusted catfish and the buffalo shrimp tacos. The fish was a bit over fried and had a bit of a burnt aftertaste but overall it was a satisfying mean with a generous portion. The tacos were good but they do not Include a side. We ordered quite a few apps and the pomme frites and calamari fries were delicious. My brother also liked the pulled pork and collared green mac n cheese. We wouldn't have called the chicken wings korean-style but I'm from LA where we have legit korean food so I'll give them a pass. Out of the entrees, the cornflake crusted catfish was definitely the best of the bunch. Also, we dined outdoors which is just a few table and chairs outside of the restaurant and you kind of just stare at the parking lot. Hubby and I went to the Charleston Friends of the Library That BIG Book Sale at the Omar Shrine Temple (going on through Sunday May 30, so check it out), and afterwards looked to see what good food was in the area. Graze popped up and neither of us had been yet so it was our winner (though we passed Grace & Grit on the way and it was looking pretty good. Next time...). Apparently everyone in Mount P had the same idea, so we arrived to a little bit of a wait, 20-30 minutes. Outdoor dining was available first but we were trying to cool down from the Book Sale so we let others have that opportunity and waited for inside seats. You know those people who know their table is in demand so they just sit there stirring the ice in their empty glasses for like 15 minutes? Yeah, don't be those people. Regardless, the manager/host was attentive to everyone waiting and quick to bus the tables and keep things moving. The friendly manager seated us after the squatters departed and our very nice server asked what drinks we would enjoy. The Cucumber Fiz was right up my alley on this hot day. I worried about the St. Germain in it being too herbal but the drink arrived cool, refreshing, and well-balanced. Hubby got sweet tea which was not too sweet and also great on a hot day. Water and straws were provided without needing to ask. After sipping my cocktail I chose the entree I felt suited it best: Cilantro-Lime Buffalo Shrimp Tacos. Other strong contenders for delicious lunch were the Crab Cakes, the Lobster Roll, and the Sea Scallops. Another day! The side of the day was potato salad and I asked our server if it was good. She said it looked good. I am a True Southerner and super-picky about potato and macaroni salads but she looked sincere so I decided to give it a day in court. Hubby got the Graze Burger and the upgrade to pomme frites over regular fries. He made the right call there. The atmosphere was clean, open, and inviting and were it not so packed would have been calm and soothing. The decor is sleek and modern in a classic, homesteady way. The tables are hefty slabs of dark wood and the chairs are solid and comfortable. There are simple box planters featuring fresh what looked like catgrass but really could be any grass. Get it? Graze? Cute. There was art for sale on the walls and while it wasn't all great it definitely was something to talk about while waiting. Waiting was not a huge issue, as our food arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. Not long at all, especially on such a bustling day. And oh my, do they know what they're doing. They call it Creative Casual Cuisine and that sums it up. Classics well-executed with a unique spin. The Buffalo Shrimp Tacos were loaded with gorgeous fried shrimp, spicy arugula, pungent Bleu cheese, and a light drizzle of sauce that was not too spicy, thick or heavy-handed, so the shrimp were crisp, not soggy. The Bleu cheese hunks stole the show. The 2 tacos were filling but I still had to eat all the potato salad. It wasn't as good as mine but it was really good. Tangy with mustard, nice chunks of red-skin potato cooked textbook, red onion for crunch, simple but perfectly balanced. My compliments to the chef. Hubby's burger was stacked high and well-seasoned, the 2 patties having excellent flavor, added to that fresh lettuce, red onion, tomato, cheese, and garlic aioli on a nice bun. Served white-hot, he tried his pomme frites while the burger cooled enough to handle. Definitely upgrade your fries: the truffle oil, parmesan, and garlic aioli take them to a ho nuvva level. The HNL! They were snappy-crisp outside, fluffy inside, just fantastic fries. We were both stuffed to the gills and grateful for a delicious meal served with a smile. Yelp reviews did not represent what we had for lunch. Chicken livers were over-breaded and dry, although the grits were deliciously flavorful and crispy Brussel sprouts were a nice touch. Lobster Mac n cheese was delicious We each had a salad (Caesar and beets) but both were overdressed even though we both asked for them to be lightly dressed. Our reception was a bit cold when we walked in. We had made reservations for outside since it was a nice day but asked to change to indoor since we noticed the outdoor seating was in a strip mall overlooking a parking lot. The first person ignored us and walked away. The 2nd young man told us we couldn't sit at a table for 2 in the bar area (there were 4 of these tables), even though, including the table we eventually occupied, still had one open table the entire time we were there. I suggest a little staff training to make sure the patron's requests are heard and that all are welcomed here. Follow up - as we sat waiting for our Uber, we were approached by 2 staff members who had been at our table with meals or drinks and they asked us if we were waiting for a table. Overall: A must-go if you're visiting or living in MtP! The good: The food is outstanding! We rolled out of there because our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but everything we had was delicious. The calamari fingers were a perfect start - lightly breaded, sizeable pieces of calamari (not just little strings like most places), and paired perfectly with two sauces (the sweet Thai chili was amazing). We also got the cornflake-crusted catfish and the scallops. The cauliflower "risotto" with the scallops was a surprising hit, and the carrots were as well. The catfish is paired with a tasty and filling succotash, complemented with a creamy sauce. Both the scallops and catfish themselves were cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes are hearty. The service was friendly and attentive, even though we were the only table sitting outside at the time. The not-so-good: It's on the pricier side, which you wouldn't know looking from the outside. If you do sit outside (like we did), the ambiance isn't terribly exciting (strip mall) parking lot, but there's not much they can do about that. Reservation saw us seated in the bar area and not the dining. Waitress only took orders and delivered food, never checking on us. She had to read specials off a cheat sheet and was less than convincing when describing things. The restaurant was out or not offering a couple of items which impacted more than one dish, of which was my first choice. Desserts were uninspired and likely came from Whole Foods based on the server's description. The chocolate lava cake was room temp at best and served with a bigger portion of vanilla ice cream than was the cake, topped with fake chocolate sauce on top. Waitress clearly did not want to be there and had to flag down another in order to get the check. When I walked to the bar to pay because of course she was MIA, the waitress saw me and thanked the bar tender for taking care of it. Really? Service was terrible and completely colored the review. If you're looking for a casual and convenient restaurant with a delicious menu, you must try Graze. This place is unassumingly GOOD and the service was attentive. At first, my guest and I were unsure about eating here because the smell inside the restaurant was a bit off putting and not super appetizing. It reminded us of a smoky gas station bathroom mixed with cleaning chemicals. But, I heard positive reviews from a coworker so we decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad we stayed. Came here around 5:30pm on a Saturday and it was absolutely lovely!! Don't be deterred by the sketchy exterior. There was no wait, the atmosphere was relatively quiet, dim lighting, and the service was GREAT - Tyler G took excellent care of us. I got the Modern Royal cocktail without the grapefruit juice - it ended up tasting very similar to a French 75. It was spectacular. I was pleasantly surprised! The food was wonderful. We had a larger group and our table was ready at our reservation time, no waiting! The smell of brussels sprouts hit me when I walked in, so I knew I had to order them. I was not disappointed! The tuna appetizer was also good. I had a hard time deciding what to order since they had so many wonderful options. Ultimately I went with their roasted turkey sandwich which was delightful! The portions are quite large so if your not starving, you could split a sandwich and have an appetizer. I love strip malls as they always hide the darnest thing. I've been to Graze before, albeit 8 years ago. This number is important as the shelf life for restaurants isn't that long, which automatically tells you they're doing something right. Luckily at a strip mall, parking is no issue. Walking up there are four or so tables outside but they feel forced and don't flow with the very local vibe. Entering in you have the normal wait station, flanked by a large and very well stocked bar to the left with the main dining area to the right divided by a half wall. Overall the restaurant is minimalistic. The ceiling is open, painted flat black to detract the eyes from the inner workings, the wall décor is all squares or rectangles, above the bar being solid, all else local paintings. It works as it's almost so quaint it forces the patron to their guests or delectable food. Finally on the right in the main dining area is a huge wine rack white give a nice red hue. The staff is very courteous and knowable. I asked my waitress to suggest a wine and she said she would recommend after she knew what I'd order - that my friends is SMART. In addition to intelligence, the wait staff during their peak hour were fast to the table and I never had an empty glass. Very professional, very caring. As I'm visiting Charleston my liver has been through it with every friend wanting to go out and catch up. Luckily my best buddy doesn't drink anymore and I had two dates the next two nights. So I refrained from enjoying libations. That said, lets fill 'er up, shall we? The Tuna Tataki was and extremely satisfying first dish. The tuna was a perfect medium rare while the wonton crackers added a nice crunch. The firecracker mayo definitely amped up the heat while the pickled cucumbers tried to cool things down. A great dish. The Lobster Mac and Cheese... this was way to heavy for a started but don't be afraid as the cheeses are so good it gave me dreams of cows giving each other high fives. A great dish but as a starter... maybe not. I opted for the Wild Mushroom Papperdelle which was off the hook. The pasta was homemade and the porcini cream was devine as the goat cheese melted into it creating a silky concoction especially factoring the sun dried tomatoes and spinach. That said I don't recall tasting any truffle oil, of which my nose is highly attuned to smelling. The scallop dish was interesting. In that, the scallops were succulent cooked to perfection. However pairing it with cauliflower risotto is misleading. Risotto is a labor of love taking a while to craft and the cauliflower doesn't offer the same texture. It just doesn't work no matter how one tries to sell it. The baby carrots were awesome and the red pepper coulis was a nice flavor enhancer. All in all, Graze is a high class dining experience. While I had small nitpicks with the lobster mac and risotto, all the menu items are cooked with precision and love. One can order any item with confidence it will be fresh, tasty and memorable. Moreover the wine menu is a nice size with several notable names, countries, and grapes available to chose from. If you want a romantic evening with that special someone or hanging out with a friend you haven't seen in eons, I highly suggest dropping in as they'll have a spot just for you! read more

Got introduced to Graze by our foodie friend locals who lived in Mount Pleasant. So we knew it was going to be good, but who knew it would be one of my favorite restaurants OF ALL TIME. Unlike most other places I call favorites, there's not one or two dishes that I'm obsessed with: it's the entire dang menu here. Literally EVERYTHING we've ever eaten here was just fantastic. Here's the list from our most recent trip: - Pulled Pork and Collard Green Mac n Cheese (this is now my second favorite mac and cheese, the first being a little place in Nashville) - Korean Style Chicken Wings (we have a lot of Korean friend chicken in our home area, and these were TOP NOTCH, better than most others I've had) - Green Apple-Cauliflower Soup (unexpected combination but delicious) - Roasted Beets Salad (which the waitress divinely offered to me as a side instead of full salad! this was so good, and I proclaimed my undying love to the hostess when she told me the breaded ball on the plate was fried goat cheese) - I got the Wild Mushroom Papperdelle as my entree (honestly can't remember what anyone else got. This was very good, though some of the apps won out, for me - that said, more than half our table said this was their favorite) The specials sounded amazing and almost lured me away from everything else on the menu. Honestly, ideally, I'd like to spend 2-3 meals at Graze every time we visit Charleston for a weekend. (The couple at the table near us actually had been there the night before, and came back because they wanted to try those specials! ...ngl, we did that the last time we visited.) The drinks are good too, and our server (who was definitely juggling a lot that night) was incredibly kind and good. The menu changes regularly, though we noticed a much smaller selection from the last time we were here (pre-COVID). Finally able to cross Graze off my list on a recent trip to the low country. I was able to get there as soon as they opened on a Saturday so it wasn't busy but that changed by the time I left. I tried the cornflake crusted catfish(butterbean succotash, tomato-onion jam, honey -tabasco mayo) and a waffle. The fish was super crispy and so good with the stewed tomato. This is one of my favorite restaurants now. I've been 3 times now and have loved it every time. I ALWAYS order the pierogis and lobster mac and cheese. Pierogis aren't even something I order from anywhere ever. I just think they are just an okay food. My friend ordered these the first time we went and I had one and LOVED it. The next time I went, I ordered a plate for myself....then I ordered them today and finished the whole plate solo. They are just that good. They have shaved Brussels and bacon on them and it takes them to a whole new level. The lobster Mac and cheese is full of lobster meat and even some pieces you have to cut in half because it's so big! It's creamy and has a nice crunch texture from the bread crumbs. I really want to try other things from this restaurant, I really do BUT I can't get past these two dishes! It's a trek to get there since I'm 30-40 minutes away. Service is always good too.
